We were drawn to Eden LA by the beautiful arch bar in their showroom which my husband and I, despite our drastically different tastes, equally loved. That started the relationship with Jamie, Heather, and Cassandra that led to the transformation of our plain builder-grade home into what is now a designer home inside and out. Everything from paint to tile to wallpaper to railing to lighting to cabinetry to furniture and plants was curated to meet our style and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
Living through a remodel isn’t fun and it did take longer and cost more that we expected because we increased scope along the way, but it was worth it and we were happy we had Eden LA by our side through the process.

It is a pleasure to work with everyone at Eden LA. They are professional, experienced, patient with indecisive clients like me. I will miss seeing their storefront presence in Manhattan Beach as it inspired several home projects that were unexpected.

After following and loving Jamie's work for years, I hired her to create a bathroom addition in a game room. First, we'd been in a quandary about how to fit a toilet, shower, and sink into the space and several architects, contractors, and designers only came up with awkward layouts. Jamie looked at the plans and said, "Just do this" and quickly drew up an easy, workable solution. As its off a game room, we wanted to do something whimsical but tasteful. I had the idea to do a swimming pool themed bathroom. She created a pool-themed shower but with blue slightly ombre subway tiles to make it modern and beautiful, complimented by an affordable, attractive vanity and gorgeous pendant lights. The bathroom is a show stopper. One day while we were chatting about the project in my 90s era kitchen, she asked why we hadn't updated it yet. When we cited the expense of a kitchen reno, she told us it didn't need to be costly. She was right! Jamie found us a unique, very cool backsplash and coordinating countertops, all were very affordable. The kitchen is now gorgeous and, like everything Jamie does, has a calming effect. We get so many compliments on both these rooms!

I'm such a fan of Jamie's work. She's got an incredible range and ability to work with different styles! Her spaces always carry a "Zen" calm, making every room she touches an oasis. She led us through a kitchen reno, a game room and bathroom addition, and a living room design. I should mention, I have a creative imagination, but no ability to pull it off! She's fantastic in helping guide me to see my ideas become reality, but with elegance and taste. What I struggle with for years, she figures out in seconds (I am not exaggerating). She's fantastic!

Jamie and her team at Eden LA are fantastic. They helped us remodel our dark, traditional home into bright and sunny beach Bungalow. She even designed a custom chandelier for our entry! We just completed a considerable renovation of our entire home. Jamie and her team were creative, thoughtful and responsive to all of our needs. She worked with us on every aspect of our interior design including furniture selection, custom furniture, custom cabinetry, wallpaper, tile, window treatments, light fixtures...and I'm sure I'm leaving things out.Jamie took the time to understand and clarify our vision for the space. She helped us design the interior we wanted--far beyond what we could have created for ourselves. (We know what we like...but how do we pull it all together? Jamie knows.) Our kitchen and bathrooms are so special and the family rooms are pure joy to be in. We've lived in our house for ten years, but now we're able to really enjoy all the spaces in our home on totally different level.Jamie also takes the time to listen to clients' particular needs, whether it's for children with special needs, accessibility issues, even pets. We had many unique and specific requirements that required careful consideration throughout our house. Your first decision is do you want or need a designer. Since we were designing and building our house from scratch, we decided we did. And, at the end, we were very glad we did.In hindsight, the thousands of decisions big and small are made better when there is an experienced eye involved.We found that experienced eye in Jamie Roddy of Eden LA, located in Manhattan Beach, CA.When you hire an interior designer, what are your expectations? Do you want to give them some guidelines, get them to know you and then have them come up with some recommendations? Or, do you want to work alongside them in a collaborative manner?Jamie is equally good at the either approach.In our case, we liked to collaborate with her in real time. My wife and I would sit with her in her studio in front of a big screen monitor. Together we would search the web pulling together the furniture, materials, colors and accents that we all agreed upon.In some cases, she gently “guided“ us to consider things on our own that we might not have done if we were by ourselves. Now that we have seen those decisions in place, we’re glad we were gently pushed to expand our thinking about what we wanted.You may not have the time to spend like we did, but we did and we loved the outcome of the process.Services: Lighting design

Jamie and her team did a spectacular job designing our full remodel, choosing pieces, and coordinating with our general contractor. Jamie was able to take both my husband’s and my preferences, which are not always the same, balance them and help us to make choices that we both love and are beautiful together. Close friends who’ve visited our home comment that it’s an amazing reflection of who we both are. Our home feels like us. She is so good at helping us design in a way that, while very beautiful, is also extremely functional for the frequent entertaining we do and for the way our family functions on a daily basis. If you have worked with Jamie in the past or intend to, take extra care in reviewing invoices. We found dozens of billing errors with certain items marked up 2-4x vs. the contracted 25%. They originally denied the issue and it wasn't until we researched and provided proof that they acknowledged it. They did ultimately reimburse a portion of the amount but the experience was terrible. Unfortunately as well, she would not share details on items purchased where we could not locate the item online for proof of pricing issues, so it's hard to know if the errors went beyond the 20ish items we found.The design experience was not great either. We found Jamie unwilling to accept feedback and / or acknowledge real issues. The products she sourced have not held up through time either. Nothing is holding up. The tables she sourced looked nice to begin with but are all just particle board wrapped in veneer that is chipping. Somehow we were made to feel like design issues were our fault during the process. It was extremely stressful for us. We have since moved on to another interior designer and could not be happier. We will be replacing almost everything Jamie selected.Also note that of the other two reviews listed, one is from Jamie who is the owner.

What a total let down and waste of my time. I spoke to the owner Jamie last week to inquire about remodeling a few rooms in my 5 bedroom home in the South Bay. She suggested that I take photos of the rooms I want to remodel and to organize Pinterest boards of the styles I like, which I did, and we set up a time and day to meet at her place of business which was this afternoon. I showed up a few minutes early and the door was locked, and nobody was there. I called, no answer, so I left a message. I waited 20 minutes past our appointment time, still nobody showed or called me. I find this absolutely unprofessional and rude and a good sign that I would never hire Jamie or her services. She obviously thinks she's too big and busy and doesn't have a problem to easily blow off a potential client.

Jamie was fantastic to work with. My husband and I both thought we could initially furnish our home ourselves (because we do enjoy the design process), but realized we didn't have time to do so and needed professional help to settle some of our creative differences. Jamie to the rescue! We just had the "big reveal" and love everything. Thank you for incorporating our individual style tastes and making it look great in our home (which definitely had its own style to begin with)
