I have stayed at 4 star hotels that were not as clean as this one. Good location, plenty of parking, common areas and room updated and kept very clean. Only stayed one night but will definitely stay here again for the price it is well worth it.

I chose this place because it was close to Manhattan Beach and the airport.Parking is underground and free. When I checked in, for some reason I was asked to go to the Pacific Hotel (Crimson) next door, so I moved there.I had booked a 2 queen room, but the beds were split into 2 rooms, there was a refrigerator, and the bathroom was very spacious.The rooms and buildings looked old in general, but probably because it was winter, there were no bugs and no problems.Also, there was a shared microwave near the front desk, which was convenient.The location is good as you can go to the supermarket and the beach in a few minutes by car. It's a safe area, so I felt safe even at night.It took about 15 minutes to get to LAX airport the next morning, so I highly recommend it in Los Angeles, which has a lot of traffic.

This hotel is completely oblivious to guests’ needs. The desk is always left completely unattended and you have to wait around at least 15-20 minutes to ever get your requests addressed. At least 75% of the time there is no one at the desk and you have to waste so much time waiting for an employee to show up and do their job. All the guests notice and complain out loud in the lobby to each other and it is a very poor experience.Also there are no microwaves in the room which is abysmal.

Excellent rooms, nice neighborhood, good beds and hot water, with covered parking and a good, quite complete breakfast! Very friendly staff, there are several food businesses opposite. Every day they cleaned the room and the beds and changed the towels. The only thing that could be better is the WiFi which is quite slow.. But I would return without hesitation

Desk was non responsive to complaints. At Many times there was no one at the desk. Room service needs to improve. There was hair in the shower and hair in all three beds in my suite. I ended up sleeping on the one side of one of the beds. I didnt check the other beds. That did not have hair. There were also crumbs on the floor and in one of the beds. The refrigerator in the main room was not turned on. The security lock on the door was falling off. I didn't check the security lock in the other room. There was only shampoo on the room. No lotion or bath gel. My daughter was with me but felt uncomfortable and did not stay. The Parking was nice. The breakfast was nice. Room 222Rooms: Said everything in the write up. After driving for 12 hours to get here, we were told our room isn’t ready. The front desk guy said we had to wait an hour. Ok no big deal. We come back an hour later and he puts us into the wrong room. We reserved a 3 bed family suite and he puts us into a 2 bed regular room. So we show him the reservation and he says oh my bad! Well I need you to pack everything up and leave the room and go and sit in your car for 4 hours while we get the room ready.We paid $600 for absolutely garbage quality service.Save yourself the trouble and either go somewhere else or sleep on the street because sleeping under an overpass with my 2 children sounds like a better experience than dealing with this place again.

The rooms are newly furnished, but the respective microwaves fell victim to the renewal.In general, it is clean, but due to the busy street sometimes very noisy (esp in the morning rush hours). In addition, the rooms themselves are very bright and you can hear the neighbors clearly during sex or other things, like stomping around.Breakfast is quite rudimentary and often the breakfast room (open from 06:30am to 09:00am) is crowded.The parking lot is free.Check-out until 11:00am. Late check-out available with $20 per hour.

Still Waiting on a RefundA representative from Expedia called the hotel to change my reservation. I was assured it was ok even though Expedia could not provide me with an updated itinerary. Arrived at the hotel and my reservation was canceled. They charged me a no show for three days. The first night was booked up but I ended up staying the following two nights. I was told one night would be refunded. Spoke to the manger numerous times. Expedia spoke to the hotel on multiple occasions as well. Still no refund. Rooms were ok, nothing special. Not a great location. Mixed reviews in regards with the staff. Would definitely not stay here again.

Room was not very clean the floor was dirty, the room had a weird smell. Beds are uncomfortable and the sheets looked like they were not that clean. Breakfast is a joke. I would never stay there again.

First let me say that if you attempt to call this place it is almost impossible to understand what is being said. I am not suggesting anything other than very poor communication skills. Room furniture old and very tattered, bed is horrible, and room has a musty smell. Check in time is 3pm, if you arrive at 2 they will charge you $20 extra to check in. The fees are $20 per hour prior to check in. Horrible PR skills as well as verbal communication.I stay in the area 1 to 2 times a month and even with that information they will not make any early check in complementary. The fact is even if the did I would not stay there again.

I was worried to book this hotel based on the reviews but I’m so glad I decided to go with it. I fear a lot of people writing these reviews are paying budget prices and expecting the world. But for the review purpose, I paid $80 for a hotel room for 1 nights stay and I’m pretty happy!! Wifi was great, room was massive. There was a slight musty smell in the bathroom, likely due to the extractor fan not being very strong but honestly, pretty ignorable. Bed was comfy, no bedbugs and no weird stains or hairs in the bed, also tested with a UV light ??♀️ many people had mentioned cockroaches but we saw no bugs at all. The hotel has luggage carts in the main lobby too. Saw some people had an issue with parking. The hotel has an underground parking garage which for $80, with how good the area is - I was pretty blown away by that. Parking is usually a nightmare!! Plenty of spaces, LOTS of cameras & it felt very safe. Couldn’t hear people in the room next to me - If anything we heard some maintenance the following morning around 9am but since we were checking out - it wasn’t a problem. Both staff members at front desk were pleasant. Breakfast looked sparse but I never get hotel breakfasts so it wasn’t an issue to me. Housekeeping crew was very attentive and were up early cleaning the rooms. Pretty cute set up of the hotel tbh, pool looked clean though I didn’t use it since we got in late and despite it being a little outdated on decor, I really only care about the cleanliness and I have no complaints there.

I booked a room here back in April 2023 for an event I booked for August 31, 2023. I needed to cancel the room and was told to go to booking.com where the reservation was originally placed. booking.com in turn told me to speak to the hotel. So needless to say, neither provided me a solution and just ping-ponged me back and forth for over a week. I was then charged a fee for not canceling the room in time. You can't make this stuff up. Poor customer service from all parties involved. I will not be staying at The Wave in the future.
