This review is for the bakery. I happened to buy a towering Tiramisu from this place and it’s an insult to the name. Really pathetic piece of cake, very muddy and worst cream ever! Birthday ruined! Please change the name to something else and don’t bring shame to an Italian dessert.

The staff are nice. The store is relatively clean. The shelves are all fronted.
It doesn’t smell like seafood or old mop water.

I was really upset because I placed my first delivery order and didn’t receive my full order. I had the opportunity to be assisted by Tara and her calm and pleasant personality turned my experience around. Thank you for making a bad experience and good one.

Once a rival to Safeway and others, Raleys stores have retreated to Nothern California .The Lathrop store is super Brite & clean. Great produce, slightly higher prices for non food items. Helpful staff always eager to HELP.

The deli is amazing. The thing I’m upset about is when I went to buy a large $12 balloon, when I got home I realized it was not even filled all the way. It did not even last the day. It was Father’s Day, and I heard the employee say they did not have a lot of helium, but I didn’t expect them to not blow my balloon up all the way so I didn’t check. I also had a small baby with me so I didn’t notice until I got home.

Extremely disappointing and disturbing experience.
I visited this Raley’s (1280 W Lathrop Rd, Manteca, CA) on May 28, 2025, around 9 PM to buy Straus milk. I was told they were out, but an employee retrieved one from the back and handed it to me. When I got home, I discovered it was expired (sell-by date: May 21). This wasn’t something I picked from the shelf — they gave it to me knowingly.
I returned to the store for a refund, and the situation escalated unprofessionally. The cashier (Laurie) laughed off my concern, and even worse — she took photos of me with her personal phone without my permission. I felt violated, intimidated, and harassed over something that was clearly the store’s fault.
She also tried to refund me in cash instead of back to my credit card and only changed course after I insisted.
This incident has left me extremely shaken. Food safety and customer dignity should be basic standards — both were ignored. I’ve filed a formal complaint with the California Attorney General.
Do better, Raley’s.
