“I cannot recommend this pet hospital enough! While living in Monterey, I brought my cat here for routine checkups and vaccines. The staff was always beyond amazing. Right before moving, I needed last-minute assistance to get my cat's paperwork ready for an overseas health screening. They jumped right in to help. If what you are asking for is within their power, they will do it—or at least try their absolute best. Their assistance and dedication truly made a difference during a stressful move, and I am so grateful for their care.”
“When I had my last cat that had cancer they were able to tell me exactly what was wrong with her before I had to put her to sleep at least I knew what was going on and that I could not save her. So I made her comfortable before putting her down. Now I have two new members of the family and they'll be going there as well and I just gave the information to one of my cousins so she could take her cat there as well they are the best in Monterey County personal opinion very professional”
“My dog Charlie was neutered yesterday. Scheduling was very easy with a very prompt appointment. Upon arrival, the wait was minimal before Charlie was taken for the surgery, which was completed quickly. He was released early the same afternoon with meds. He's doing very well. The cost was very reasonable and I appreciated that, as well as the exceptional service we received.”

“Our ten year old dog Bella has had bladder cancer since January of this year. Between Monterey Animal Hospital and the Animal Cancer Center Bella has still has life.

“I had such an amazing experience here!! I brought my dog in for a wellness check, and I was honestly a little nervous because she can be pretty afraid of new people and very protective. But she did AMAZING!! I’m sure a huge part of that was because of the welcoming, caring atmosphere here. The doctor and staff genuinely seemed to care so much about the animals and were all incredibly kind, friendly, and patient. They also had absolutely no problem answering all of the questions we had. Everything was explained so clearly and in a way that was very easy to understand, which I really appreciated as a pet owner! I was called in for my appointment right on time, and everything went so smoothly from start to finish. I’m so happy I chose this place for my girl and would absolutely recommend them!!”
“Very caring and pleasant. Dogs are put on standard size exam beds and covered with a towel which is changed. It's more comfortable for the dog and not as frightening as a steel table. There is a window they can look out. Dr Kim remembers every dogs name and it just like going to a home where their visisting.”
“I recently started seeing Dr. Chan and staff after we moved to town. I have been extremely happy with the professionalism of the staff and the kindness, knowledge and openness to homeopathics of Dr. Chan. The staff are caring and not abrupt. Last visit we had an emergency and they were awesome. I can't say enough about the professionalism and care.”

The treatment they gave him made his rash go away, when we had tried everything you can think of, and nothing had worked for him. He's doing so much better And his hair is growing back. “Unexpectedly stopped by this SPCA in summer, 2009. Walked through the front door and immediately made eye contact with a small cat from 20+ feet away. Thyme, a precious calico mix who had been surrendered with her entire litter, went home with me that day. Thyme will be walking across the rainbow bridge this Friday after a long lifetime of cuddles, treats, sunshine, and love. It's been an amazing 16+ years with my little girl and I'm forever thankful to this organization. This review is for you, Monterey SPCA. Please know that, thanks to your organization, Thymbo has lived a long, full, and happy life. I'm not sure if either of us would still be here without that initial meeting. Thank you <3”
“We moved to the area a few weeks ago and were looking for a new vet. My dog hurt her leg over the weekend and Nichols was able to fit her in today. All the staff are extremely kind and professional! I am so happy we found this place to be our new vet clinic, and I recommend it to anyone with a fur-baby!”

“I’ve gone here in the past for my performance horse. But I recently had an emergency at the HS rodeo and Dr. Kayla showed up with her assistant. She was calm, patient, incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. She also did a fantastic job suturing up my daughter’s horse. Highly recommend these folks!!!”
“The staff is AMAZING and the service is EXCELLENT! Taking my fur baby here has changed his life, he is very active again. He is only 7 years old and he was having mobility problems already. Once he started acupuncture his mobility improved drastically, the veterinary doctor is very knowledgeable. “This hospital has helped my cat a couple of times. Each time, they are considerate of my emotions and get my cat in as fast as they can. They also don’t try to do anything unnecessary in order to get more money. For example, this particular time, my cat had a string coming out of her rectum. The doctor saw her as quick as possible and then laid all the options out for me. They could do a costly X-ray, but since she wasn’t showing any other signs of sickness, it would be possible she might pass the string naturally. I went home and luckily my cat passed it the next day. They sent me home well equipped with signs to look for that the string might be life threatening. Good people at this place. The vet also remembered my cat from more than a year ago and seemed genuinely emotionally invested in the fur babies. Reception is also kind, as well as the nurses! I also suggest getting the banfield wellness plan. This visit was free because I had it.”
“Dr. Artega got us in so quickly as our referring vet said time is of the essence with lymphoma. She is so knowledgeable and calming, appointments don’t feel rushed. She helped us come up with the most cost effective treatment plan and her staff is so friendly. We drove 2 hours to see her, but it was well worth the drive, plus, my pup enjoyed it exploring Monterey after.”

We had such a wonderful experience at VCA Ocean View Animal Hospital. From the moment we walked in, the office staff were incredibly welcoming and caring, which immediately put us at ease. The vet tech was very attentive and super sweet, taking the time to make sure everything was explained and that my pet was comfortable throughout the visit.
Dr. Pollack was absolutely wonderful. Kind, thorough, and genuinely compassionate. You can really tell how much she cares about both pets and their people.
I used to take my previous dog to the VCA in Salinas and decided to continue with VCA by choosing the Pacific Grove location. They provided excellent care, and I can completely see why this hospital is so highly rated. I’m very grateful to have found such a caring and trustworthy veterinary team.”
“I am so grateful to have found Dr. Shannon and team - they are the gold standard for pet care in our area. My little Terrier has had a really rough time with chronic bronchitis - which requires ongoing and ever changing medication strategies - Dr. Shannon and her team have been there for us every step of the way, listening to my feedback, adjusting medications and treatments , squeezing us in same day when things flair up. They have gone above and beyond for my dog and for me. I have also been very impressed with their standard care, dental work, annual exams etc. The whole team is outstanding from Nicole and Heidi at the front desk to Rhiannon and the other vet techs in the back. And Dr. Shannon is a special person - so calm, so patient - a great listener - she has made me feel like I am truly involved in the well being of my dogs. Sometimes vets are great technicians but lack in people skills and sometimes it's the other way around. Dr. Shannon is the whole package! Highly recommend.”

“I adore Dr. Herrmann and her incredible staff!! She helped me ease thru having to put a previous pet to sleep and is my go-to for any issues with my pets. She won't give you any bs and shoots straight with where your pet's health is at. If you are expecting someone to just tell you what you want to hear or, like the previous reviewer, have some wildly entitled notion that you can stop the entire functioning of her ER vet services so that you can give her uneducated "guesses" as to what you think is going on based on some simple google searches ... yea, that previous reviewer clearly found out Dr. Herrmann does NOT suffer fools or foolishness. What she DOES do, and better than any other vet i've ever seen, is get your animal fixed up and on the mend. I'm sorry for my anger showing thru in this post about something someone else wrote, but Dr. Herrmann is a saint and cussing her out in German is not something i will allow to go unanswered”
“As always we received great care for our dog who was suffering from severe stomach pain. We didn’t realize how much pain our dog was in and after IV fluids due to constraint vomiting and diarrhea we returned home but had to come back the next day. Our dog was still in pain so we went back the next day and after $800 worth of x-rays nothing significant was found. After another day or so our dog recovered from whatever it had maybe a stomach virus.”
