We needed a place to stay on our way to Yosemite NP Arch Rock Entrance near El Portal, CA. This is a cute little inn with friendly, helpful staff. Our room was ready at check in time. They are really busy during the summer, so probably not able to check in early. It's right close to the shopping area of town with lots of eating spots too. We stayed in room #204, The Redbud. It was very convenient to our van for loading/unloading. The room itself was basic but clean and had everything we needed. We just stayed the one night, but the restaurant just across the street, The Grove House was very good and we walked to the town park to listen to live music. Such a treat! The Yosemite NP entrance is about an hour away and it was very quick and convenient at 6 am.Walkability: Town is very close, shopping and restaurants bothNoteworthy details: #204 Red Bud, you park directly in front of your room

My wife and I heartily recommend this charming hotel right in the heart of historic Mariposa. When we were told our room was on the far side of the building, I was afraid we would get scorched by the afternoon sun and radiant heat from the parking lot. I needn't have worried, as a wall of rhododendrons had been planted to give the room shade and privacy. There was a helpful map on the nightstand that highlighted nearby shops and restaurants as well as the town's historic jail and church, which is still an active parish. In lieu of breakfast, there was a mini fridge stocked with sodas. Price was very reasonable. My only critique is that the town is located farther from Yosemite than we fully realized, so you will need to get up early if you want to avoid a long line at the park entrance.

The place to be if you need a good nights rest before heading into Yosemite to camp! A group of friends and I did just that this last week before heading into the NP and we could not be more happy with our stay - first the staff - now a days it's hard to find good workers who will provide great service with a smile and the team at 5th did exactly that- from a pre arrival phone call where the person was so kind - to checking in. Also my wife left her kindle and after our 3 days in the NP the hotel was able to get it back to us! The person even called everyone who worked the day we check out to make sure we could get it back 10/10 customer service. The room it's self was very clean and just a great design and size for our big group - everyone was able to sleep nicely and the sheets and towels were very nice quality. You know big hotels are starting to get way too expensive , they are not as Fridley anymore and honestly not worth the money - but the 5th street inn was a breath of fresh air. We will always stay here when we can when coming up to Yosemite and I highly recommend you to do the same - thank you 5th street in for a great stay!!

Cute little Inn in Mariposa. The room smelled of cleaning products when I first got there and had to be aired out. I wish there was a way to do that without throwing my doors wide open for bugs to come in. The room seems updated and the bathroom very clean but weird that the shower curtain was in 2 pieces? I think they were window curtains instead... I didn't deal with the check in/checkout, my niece did and she was confused. Parked in front 1st because she thought she was told to park there before someone else took the spot but then was told she actually needed to park in the back...? It worked better for us anyways because the back had a ramp up to the 2nd floor and we didn't have to take our luggage up the stairs. I'd definitely stay here again. Also, please note that there is a container of rags that aren't their fancy spa towels for more dirty type things you want to do.

Needs an update. Room was clean, but very dated. Pricey for what you get, guess that is to be expected for Yosemite visitors. Location to downtown is, and brewery across the street is nice.

I had a delightful one night stay at 5th St Inn. They very kindly allowed me to check in early, and also upgraded me to a beautiful larger room. The room was comfortable, clean and had so much charm. The inn is right across some excellent restaurants too. I'll definitely be back soon on my next trip to Yosemite!

This place is so unique! It was decorated so good. I was a lil worried because it is a lil older building and I have a keen sense of smell. Thx to chemo! But it was wonderful! Super clean and the first place I had we ever stayed that the towel and sheets actually smell clean and not cheap washing powders. They were soft too!!! Because of my sense of smell I am very picky where I stay but this place is an ace ♠️! And that bayberry was oh my AMAZING especially compared to a motel one.The only thing I seen was they forgot to wash the coffee pot it still had coffee in it but hey we are only human! And the young lady at the window was amazing! Very helpful and super friendly! Give Ima a raise she is definitely good for business!
