Nice and spacious room, which was very clean.
My highlight was the whirlpool.
I wouldn't recommend the breakfast, as is typical for American hotels, it's quite poor.
The lodge is right on the road, making it perfect for a stop on the way to Yosemite National Park.

WHY STAY HERE?
1. Super location right in the middle of and within walking distance of everything Mariposa.
2. Strong wifi signal through the property (which is needed–I found the cellular signal very weak throughout the town).
3. Property exterior looks great–so charming.
WHY SKIP IT?
1. Poor cleanliness. We found three bugs (not bed bugs) living well in our room. Sometimes, bugs cannot be helped–depending on the season, location, and type of lodging. While I can almost justify the bugs, we also found long hairs (certainly not ours) in our bed. Not good.
2. Office staff was hit and miss. While I experienced some friendly employees during my visit, checking in was a bit cold.
3. While our room was huge, there was mostly empty floor space in the middle–so much space, yet there was nothing to do with it. Not very functional. Not bad, just awkward.
4. Room style and fixtures were very dated.
CONCLUSION:
It’s not a bad price considering the lodge’s proximity to the national park and convenient location in town. With that said, there were a few things that turned me off. Overall, I feel like other options in town might provide a better value. I don’t think I would stay here again.
Rooms: Not clean. Large room, but mostly wasted unusable space.
Nearby activities: Great location. So many shops and restaurants within walking distance.
Safety: No safety issues.
Walkability: Great location. So many shops and restaurants within walking distance.
Food and drinks: No dining amenities.

Absolutely wonderful place in every way. Location is great (Mariposa is a really nice little town). Staff was incredibly friendly. Rooms were spacious and clean. Overall great deal!

My wife and I had a fantastic stay at the Mariposa Lodge! The staff was super friendly and helpful and it's a great basecamp for Yosemite adventures.

Our Yosemite trip was way better with this hotel. The staff was super friendly, kind, and helpful. It was easy to walk around. We grabbed coffee at Sticks, sandwiches from Jantz Café, and had dinner at Charles Street Dinner House. Perfect trip!

Clean rooms, safe, quiet. They gave a cute doggy welcome bag and recommended a few restaurants at check in.

Our stay at Mariposa Lodge was riddled with weird issues that suggest a lack of attention to detail from the management.
The first night the refrigerator wasn't cold despite adjusting the temp. Saw that the freezer was completely filled with ice, blocking all cold air from reaching the lower section. I dragged the fridge outside and let it defrost in the 95° heat. That fixed it.
The shower is scolding hot - the staff should consider adjusting the thermostat down on their water heaters so they aren't sending boiling water to people's faucets.
The 2nd night I stepped on a shard of glass on the carpet and sliced my foot.
Overall not a great experience.

A pretty average hotel, mid range price, and great location to all the shops. Still an hour drive to Yosemite Park and the Red Wood Grove, but I was there for a festival going on in town anyway. I had checked in online the day before my arrival, adding a Mastercard to pay for the stay.
When I got there at 5:30pm there were two other couples waiting to check in, and a sign on the door saying they would be back in 10 mins. Sure, everyone needs a break, but when both employees come walking back with ice cream, they get an eye roll from me. One person could have gone to get ice cream at peak check in time.... just saying.
It was my turn to check in and told that they can't take Mastercard's for the time being, only Visas...
I didn't have a visa, but thankfully my friend did. The couple before us also had to scramble to find a different card as well.
I was honestly ready to find a different place to stay.
But it got figured out and we got our key. This wasn't the greatest first impressions, but we got through it and enjoyed our stay after that.
The rooms were clean, and beds were pretty comfy to sleep in. The only real issue I had with the room was trying to find an outlet to plug in my phone near the bed. Could use some outlets on the lights or something on the night stand...

Great value for the price. Loved the rooms and the local guidance provided by the staff. Great home base for a mountain vacation.
The rooms had wifi fast enough to handle streaming.

The room at Mariposa Lodge was very disappointing. As soon as I checked in, the room smelled like poop. I bought an air freshener and sprayed it everywhere, but the smell did not go away. I booked a barrier-free room, but the bathroom was slippery and not barrier-free. The shower was partially blocked and the water pressure was weak. The inside of the refrigerator was dirty. The phone cord next to the bed was exposed and dangerously exposed. I asked to change the room, but the staff gave a half-hearted reply while eating a snack and said they would look into it and come to the room to check, but there was no feedback. It was a disgusting and upsetting ending to a happy trip. I will never come here again and will not recommend it to anyone.
