What a cool spot! If you've got kids, you've got to stop and see this place. The Garhams are the sweetest people. Happy to show off their amazing rocks, jewelry, and gems. Kids got a free rock!

Stop if you have kids. These guys are amazing! They have a very cool selection of things and they have each of the kids a free rock/gem to pick out from their basket. Tons of cool stuff and very friendly people.

This place is absolutely amazing. The members are so knowledgable and we ended up talking to them for 2 hours while we are shopping. I could not recommend this place anymore. It is a must visit.

Great prices on a variety of different rocks, minerals, and old coins. Much better prices than the nearby gift store. I went and bought a Geiger counter, some crystals, and a piece of obsidian. I asked the owner if I could come back after store hours to pick up the Geiger counter and he was nice enough to let me do so. Great place to go if you're a tourist in a mining town!

This review is for the Mariposa Mineral & Gem show. We attended this weekend and had a really great time! Mariposa is a bit out of the way for us, but my geology instructor told us about this and we really wanted to attend. The drive up is pleasant, with good scenery, and the fairgrounds are very easy to find. The best part was, the entire show was free! I don't think I've ever been to any other shows like this that were free. I had planned to buy things so not having an entrance fee made it even better. There were two indoor buildings completely full of vendors. They were selling jewelry, rare mineral specimens, fossils and even gold prospecting equipment. Everyone we talked to was really friendly (that seems to be how rock people are!) and no one was overly pushy. Outdoors were food vendors and my personal favorite, geode cutting! There were bins of geodes of all different sizes and you could choose which one you wanted and they would cut it open for $2. The prices were very reasonable. I ended up choosing a nice one, and I felt like a 5-year-old as I opened it for the first time. As the man who cut it said, I was the first person to see inside of it for millions of years! We plan to be back next year. I highly recommend it! Also the Mariposa State Mining & Mineral Museum was also free this weekend.
