Amazing, fresh seafood worth trying and the cod dip and grilled oysters in bourbon butter were outstanding. Take the time, make the reservation.

Hog Island Oyster Co. is very famous in Northern California. We all wanted to have oysters here. I don’t care if it is Raw oysters or BBQ oysters. No matter how you eat them. They’re fresh! They’re delicious! They’re swamped on the weekends. It is better to make a reservation in advance.

Amazing fresh oysters, straight from the bay to your plate. Raw or BBQ, Hog Island has amazing oysters both to go, or to enjoy at the cafe. The cafe has rustic picnic tables with a priceless view of the water. Service is friendly and fast but guests tend to linger with a bottle of champagne or two, so go early or off peak hours. If you walk up on a Saturday with nice weather, expect to wait up to an hour for a high table. But ultimately, it’s worth it!

We stopped for lunch on the way down to San Francisco on a short road trip over the weekend. It was a rainy and foggy day but that didn’t bother. When we received the AMAZING food we totally forgot that we were cold and grumpy. This was the best oysters I have ever tried (and I’m comparing with the trip I did this summer in France in the famous oyster district, Cancale). The vinegar sauce had some cilantro which made the extra touch. Friendly staff. Down to earth. Worth the stop any day in the week.

For oyster lovers, Hog Island is the ultimate indulgence. Made the scenic drive out to HI with a friend, arrived were greeted with a smile then seated after about a 20 minute wait. Outdoor seating is the only option, but with a gorgeous visit of tomales bay. The service is great, we were greeted by our server shortly after seating, she was very helpful and friendly. Ordered: dozen sweet water oysters, pickled salad, cheese board, bread and charcuterie. Everything was amazing - you will not find fresher oysters anywhere, you can actually see the staff pulling them out of the water. With the ambience, food, service - a truly sublime experience. The price for admission was about a buck fifty for 2, I would have paid double that. They have the best oysters: sweetwater and Kumamoto’s are my favorites. Great dipping sauces!*note, oysters are about $4 at the restaurant, but you can pick them up for $2 at their retail shop. Just gotta shuck em yourself - next time we’ll grab a couple dozen and head over to drake’s beachIf your in the area - yes, def worth the drive out

Really cool oyster farm of the famous Hog Island oysters. They literally pull them right out of the ocean, and you can shuck them yourself. Staff was cool enough to provide a bottle of Tapatio hot sauce and an ice cold can of Natural Light!. The oysters were delicious and I can't recommend this place enough, if you're driving through that area. Easily the freshest oysters I've ever eaten.

So I got turned onto this place after watching the Chef Show with Roy Choi and Jon Favreau on Netflix. It was definitely on my to-go list. This was from my visit last month, but I’m just getting around to leaving a review.I signed up for the farm tour, where a group of us learned about the history of the sustainable farming of oysters in this area. Our guide, Marlin, was very funny and knowledgeable about all things oysters. After the tour, we got to shuck and sample some of their oysters. I can’t remember the last time I had oysters, but these were definitely the freshest and most delicious ones I’ve had. I stayed back after the tour and ordered the grilled oysters in their bourbon butter sauce. I’m glad I did because they were quiet a treat for my tastebuds and well worth it.They definitely deserve the recognition and accolades for farming some of best oysters you’ll have the pleasure of eating. Thank you!

Great hidden treasure. Grilled Oysters with bourbon Chipotle butter are great, The arugula salad and cheese board with local Chardonnay wine completes our meal. Our day trip was great with great November weather.
