Needed some small pieces of steel to do a repair on my log splitter, called Moose Metal but they would only sell me 10' pieces, came in to Design Construction today and Jaime hooked me up with some primo scraps and a cut off a full stick. This is the place for metal !

It was a little hard to find I wish there was a few more signs indicating where to go but overall a great place. We just stopped by for an estimate and they were very friendly and informative about what was going on and what we needed to do

Clearly there is a pretty wide swing in ratings here, but I'm with the 5 star crowd. Granted I'm at the order placement phase and have not received the product yet, but so far they have been great. I spoke with Kat on a couple of occasions and each time she was knowledgeable, helpful, and patient with me. She even went out into her stock and did some measurements for me to make sure I understood what I was getting into. Assuming the rest of the process goes like this I would definitely recommend them.

I am a DIY guy who does a lot of metal fabrication at home. I found this shop a few years ago when I was trying to source some bulk steel for a project I was doing. This is a business that builds and makes things for clients that have huge metal fabrication projects, so the fact they even will help a individual hobbyist is great. They have always been helpful and willing to get me what I need. The key is, know what you need before you show up and ask a bunch of silly questions. They sell steal and fabricate things. They are not home depot. I have been in their shop buying steal and aluminum at least once a month for the past 4 years. They sometimes are busy but always a pleasure to deal with.

I'm not a professional welder or a contractor. I'm a hobbyist and always building my own small metal projects in my garage. I feel very fortunate that I found this place for all my metal needs. They have always been friendly and helpful, even with my smaller orders.The prices are very fair and they seem to almost always have what I need in stock. Great family owned business.

Do not go to this place. The lady that works there has an attitude and they cannot even track your order. She will flat out hang up on you and try to make it sound like you were the rude one. I ordered steel paid for it upfront waited two weeks and finally got a call. Two days after the call went to pick it up and because the person I ordered it from was not there they could not find my order. No communication. I was told to send them a copy of my invoices so they could locate what they ordered for me. Then I was hung up on. Lots of options out there for steel without being miss treated because of their own organization failures.

If I could leave a zero review, I would. My husband was looking for Tommy Lift gate parts for a repair. They took a month to get pricing for him and then order the parts. We were finally called and told the parts we ordered were in. We came in and spoke with Kat, who didn't have any idea what she was doing and refused to call anyone for help, or to ask where the parts-that were in the store were. I said it was unfortunate that we had waited all that time, and come out that way, only to not get what we needed. She flew off of the handle and said I was being rude, and that I needed to leave. Seriously?! They will have to work hard get our business again, if at all.

Design Construction has built numerous custom metal projects for us, including vegetable boxes, custom water features and custom outdoor arbors. They are always extremely friendly, knowledgeable and timely. I highly recommend.

They did what they said they would do. Met every expectation. Customer service was below average but when (my perception) the only game in town, you can do that. The other welder I went to turned out to be someone's house. This was at least a shop.
