John took a "freshly overhauled" motor from my 1950 Oldsmobile and made it right. After 3000 miles the motor had two broken pistons and two blown head gaskets. Rankin took it apart and the previous "rebuilder" had not cleaned the block and had installed an incorrect camshaft. While he had it apart, he installed the correct cam and upgraded to roller lifters which will stand up to today's crappy motor oils. I could not be happier with the work.
