Tucked away in the small town of Mendocino you will find a few excellent restaurants that meld local ingredients with top-notch service. You will find none better than this establishment! Variety, presentation, and flavor abound. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience!

The best family meal I have ever had. Meaning, each family member shared a portion of their plate with each other, and each were delighted at how delicious the meals were. The only downside is now our standards are set so high! Outstanding, and the best we have had, their fried chicken, smash burger, and the filet mignon (cooked to perfection) Milo was was an amazing server. So kind, personable, and made our experience perfect A must try if you're in the area!

Wow our experience was fantastic!! The manager sat us and was very friendly and accommodating. Our waiter was new but gave us great service. The assistant server was excellent, he was very polite, attentive and maintained the fire place too ....I tipped him extra. I had the filet mignon and it was beautifully presented and tasted amazing...I ate it all! My husband had the scallops special...we loved it too! The chocolate extravaganza was fun but the cake was the best part. We come to MacCallum House every time we are in town. Thank you!

Innovative, delicious, and intriguingly different--that's how I'd sum up the MacCallum House menu. Lots of fun options, marvelous drinks and pairings. I hadn't been to the Mac House in a long while, and now I can't wait to return!

Sat on deck for a quieter meal and the weather was amazing. Highly recommend the fried chicken. Saffron risotto was also well prepared and the Devil Food chocolate cake was a perfect finish. Shout out to Eben, our excellent server for the evening.

Had an enjoyable dinner all around. The food was excellent, the server (Bonnie) was professional, friendly, and anticipated our requests. It was a warm, comfortable atmosphere with a low fire in the fireplace. Wine list was more reasonable than other restaurants in the area and their corkage fee is $35.00/750ml bottle. The food was well prepared, flavorful, and plentiful. The pasta of the day was a house made fettucine with carbonara sauce with snap peas, and pancetta cooked so that you could taste all the ingredients. The fried chicken comes in a petite and regular portion with corn bread and buttermilk slaw. Will definitely return.

We came at an extremely busy time so we had to wait about a half an hour to get some service, but it was well worth the weight and everyone was so gracious on the staff and the food magnificent

I went on Valentine's Day, a single person looking for dinner. They could have paid more attention to the many couples who came, but they treated me just the same. That's a mark of good service. Every customer of value, even on a couples' night. The food was excellent. I had an unusual salad with warm bread and a duck breast entree with unique sides. Everything was delicious.

We stayed here during a power outage as MacCallum as they offered us a discount and the staff were extremely courteous and professional, the amenities excellent. Would recommend MacCallum to anyone.

Delicious cocktails and nice variety on the menu. We had the halibut special with a bottle of wine that we enjoyed very much, followed by the banana split...and then we rolled back to our wonderful room. Terrific evening.

Very much enjoyed this experience. There seemed to be staffing issues that night as one waiter was handling the entire room. Wait time for some items was longer than it should have been but we did not mine the leisurely pace. Food was excellent.

Pleasant ambiance, quiet relaxed breakfast. Like many restaurants these days, the dining room is understaffed, making service slow. Our server did an excellent job under the circumstances. Delicious homemade toast.

We came for a romantic New Years Eve weekend in quaint Mendocino. In general we liked it, but with some caviates. Our first impression with the room was one of a disappointment. We stayed in room 12 and the pictures did not really represent the feeling of being there. It seemed quite outdated on first arrival. The odd windows placement at the floor was what counted as "partial ocean view" but only if you squat down to look, while leaving that window unblinded leaves you feeling a bit exposed to outsiders, so we never really had it. The old carpets and ugly paint didn't help. And there wasn't good ventilation for when it got hot at night. I get they want to keep the quirky unique feel from room to room, but imo they could have done more with the room to make it feel the price we paid, even while keeping its charm.Regardless we settled in and had a good time regardless. The large bath and hot tub definitely helped. It has a very quiet and relaxing atmosphere, and was the break we were looking for from city life.Note: they only refresh your room if you ask, so be sure to do so if that's what you are expecting. For breakfast you get choose a dish off the menu. Over 3 days we got try most of the menu and it was all pretty good. Far better than your average free breakfast. They use local/organic ingredients wherever possible, which was a welcome change vs corporate hotels. There was a little bit of inconsistency in the meals, we got the eggs benedict twice, and once the sauce seemed broken, whereas the second it was gorgeous. Also while the breakfast is "free" you still pay a service charge of around $4 a dish... so more like almost free. Breakfast is definitely still worth it, but imo they really should just comp that too cause it was odd enough to stick out.We may look to come back again, but will be sure to book a different room.Rooms: Your experience can vary quite a bit from room to room, they are all unique with different views/features. Some of the furnishings could use an update, we thought the carpet was old and kinda dirty seeming.Nearby activities: Lots of small beaches/hikes within a short drive. The Mendocino coastline is beautiful.Walkability: Right in the middle of smalltown Mendocino. A small collection of shops/restos/cafes are in walking distance. Not too much public transit otherwise, it's good to have a car.Food & drinks: Complementary freshly made breakfast. You do have to pay a service fee it's almost free. The restaurant is also open for dinner, and it looks to be quite good.Noteworthy details: 6kw Tesla chargers onsite for guest use. Can charge your car overnight.

Antonio A. did an amazing job at accommodating our big party! Great food and great service, would highly recommend this beautiful restaurant! Christina the bartender also made amazing drinks for our group! :)
