Just left the Menifee location (store 371 off Newport) They open at 7:00 am. I needed three cheap glass vases for a project, so I rushed over and was there before 7:00 am, I'm standing outside the front entrance and several minutes pass and the front door was not open, mind you it's past 7:00am at this point. So I decide to call the store since there was also a senior gentleman waiting outside the front door, in the cold. Sheri the "manager" answered the phone. I asked what time they opened, which she replied "at Seven" I informed her it was past seven am, which she cut me off and said "Yes I know" and hung up. I walk into the store, see her and approach her to ask if she was the woman I was just speaking to, she first ignored me and I again asked her, she said yes that was me. I asked for her name, which she smirked and laughed, which I thought was inappropriate and unprofessional. I then run to grab my things, come to a register and none are open, no lights are on so I had to ask another employee which lane was open, which she states "oh I believe the manager is going to open" so I walk to a random register again because none are lite up/open , she sees me and walks past me to open up a register two lanes down from where I was standing ready to pay, which was clearly intentional since she said nothing to me about being in the wrong lane. This woman is rude, unprofessional and it's sad to see what customers service has come to, even on the management level, you'd think at least the manager would have some sort of training in order to conduct her/himself in a professional manner.

The Murrieta 99cents store has the worse customer service. It's Friday afternoon and the manager was being rude when I asked for another check stand. What I noticed Dora doing was just watching one of her associates count her drawer's while the line was getting bigger. When I asked Dora for another check stand. She then said when I come back with an attitude will be when she'll open a register. There was only one register opened with maybe 25 people in line waiting. When she came back, I knew it would happen but that's when I was Dora next customer in line. She gave me a smart remark, which I didn't appreciate and then said I need to have patience. I know for a fact if the shoes was turn around she wouldn't be so nice. She took almost 10-15 minutes to do what ever she had to do in the back room. Probably gossiping back there too. Some customers just left the store. I couldn't leave because my wife gave me a to do list and I didn't not want to complete it.

Today, I went to buy like 3 items the line was huge and only had one cashier doing all the work. I felt sorry for that eomployee. Someone asked can you bring another checker, the cashier said that everyone was in break. Im like where is the Manager the Manager or supervisor should be covering for those employees breaks. 20 minutes passed a lady with blonde hair that speaked spanish asked the cashier do you need cindy to help you, cause you have a long line and still asking for the second time you need cindy. obviously if your the manager and the line is all the way down almost to the end the cashier does need help. people were complaining but is not the cashier fault is the manager for sending everyone for break the manager should he covering those shift even if its short staffed the manager brought cindy to the cashier and she didn’t offer to help she is lazy she a poor management the store needs to be seen cause menifee is growing and you need manager that knows how to control that type of work. you need to have coverage for those employess breaks if not manager can take over and help also. one cashier could not get that work done on her own with big line almost running to the end. thos happend 12/11 at like around 6:30

This place is a complete ripoff. Won't honor price signs even when the item was right I front of them at the register with a big sign saying the price! Their prices are more than Walmart and honestly Walmart had better quality items (never thought that was possible). Won't be back.

Today I needed to return 4 items total ling $14. The items happened to be Christmas decor. The cashier who was extremely rude FOR NO REASON informed me there is no returns/exchange on Christmas items. ( by the way DOLLAR TREE doesn’t have this policy.)I was confused because usually if something is final sale a cashier will inform you. The cashier starts being rude and says, “ it’s on the bottom of your receipt” (so much more happened but I’ll spare the details) In my defense there are no signs, or anyone verbally informing customers… you will find out only AFTER a purchase is made. On the bottom of your receipt) I stayed calm, and asked the manager how I am supposed to know these rules. The manager was very rude, and condescending. After she agreed to give me store credit, I said to her. “ you should really talk to your employees about this to avoid this in the future.“ She glares at me and starts to scan the next customers items. I was never rude, or disrespectful and it’s a shame that people who approach situations respectfully get treated this way. Establishments need to train all employees better, and explain the neurological benefits that comes along with providing a positive experience to customers ultimately increasing sales. Especially Cashiers! Also, why the heck don’t they offer refunds. I’m 30 and have been shopping at the 99cent store and I’ve never needed to return anything till today and was upset that they don’t offer refunds always shop irresponsibly here knowing it’s inexpensive and thinking I can just return something if I don’t like/ need it. I won’t be doing that moving forward. Which in hindsight will probably save me money.

It's just always bugged me that their store is called the "99 Cents *Only* store." However, almost all of their merchandise costs more than $.99. In fact, I'd even say you'd be hard-pressed to find something you could buy for a dollar. Just call yourselves the "Relatively Inexpensive store" or "The Ross of Big Box stores (ie Target, Home Depot, etc)"

I wanted to let the manager know (I think your name is Cherie) that I went shopping here last night (9.11.23), looking for specific fall decor that I couldn't find or was unable to buy in either Brea or Riverside 99 Cents Only Stores, and to be honest, I had low expectations that I would be successful. To my surprise, I found everything I needed in the first five minutes of entering the store. Everything was so organized and in its place. I noticed the employee (Myra or Moira) putting back all the go-backs with such attentiveness and care and I have to say that it really pays off. The store looks great and I can tell that must be a priority for you because it stems down to the employees and I really appreciate how easy the store is to shop. Good job everyone and Myra or Moira (I hope I'm remembering the name right) needs a raise!

The quality of everything has gone down so much here. I went in for some small items today and the cashier and other store employees are rude and have an attitude for no reason. The lady was very rude. Not to mention for as much as we spend not being able to take your stuff to your care or making only two carts available because you guys are too cheap or lazy to have people go to the cart return. Instead disabled people have to carry cases of water. Whoever runs this store shouldn’t be in charge their priorities are not in the quality of this store. That’s been my experience

Love the 99c store I always find what I'm looking for and more. They're always prepared for the holidays with plenty of decorations. I love the plants and always pick up a few when I'm there. The foods section is very big and they carry just about everything you need.

I love coming here and getting avocados. So cheap and so good. Plus find random items all the time.
