“A really neat spot to host a small event. This historic building (the oldest in Menlo Park) includes three well-furnished meeting/lounge rooms, a dining room, basic kitchen facilities (fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee/tea supplies), and outdoor deck space in a beautiful park setting. It's well maintained and rentals support the Junior League of Palo Alto*Mid Peninsula, a nonprofit that trains women to be leaders in our community. The perfect spot for a baby/wedding shower, birthday party, business or nonprofit meeting, or just a social event!”

“Wonderful atmosphere for meeting exercise goals. Great variety of exercise classes lead by enthusiastic instructors. Front staff is friendly and accommodating. Trainers are very knowledgeable and willing to assist. Jamar is the center of energy which can be felt upon entering the workout area and is infectious. Fellow exercisers are friendly, egos checked at door. Also to know: there’s enough equipment so that it never really feels crowded.”

“Adas is a small restaurant attached to library. Coffee tea and snacks best. They do have quich, sandwiches, empanadas that are good but they don't seem to be able to warm them up. They do have good pies and other desserts. They employ disabled people who do a great job serving people. They are very quick and always happy.”

“Definitely worth the 30min drive and bridge crossing to get our community cats fixed through the TNR program. 3 of us had individually gone to another local cat clinic in Fremont to use vouchers. But staff was incredibly rude, understandably made mistakes, but was just mean for no reason. There were also a lot of unnecessary rules/requirements that probably deterred people from following through w/surgeries. We are all trying to help and rescue is stressful (I focus on dogs personally). But ease and kindness is what keeps people voluntarily helping these animals. Thank you for offering this AND thank you for just being kind and straightforward!”

“My wife and I were married at the San Mateo Arboretum in June of 2019, it just occurred to me I should post a review! We were very happy with the venue, we had the wedding out in the garden with about 52 people. We used the Pump House to stage things, and had the buffet tables outside. We were able to bring in a catering truck with a pizza oven, and the caterer provided the servers to stage the food and serve the drinks. Our contact helped us with the logistics and was there for the event, when there was an issue with another event in the park blocking the access she quickly worked it out with them and got the path cleared. There are some limitations to work with: no real kitchen for cooking, no dishwashing, and the interior would be cramped for 45 people, so hope for clear weather and bring a mobile caterer. Don't expect to play really loud music or have a big dance party on the grass. But for a small low-key wedding the garden is fantastic, and makes a wonderful backdrop. The price is very affordable, and we were able to book it with 4 months notice, so it was a very good option for us... Highly recommended if it fits your needs!”

“MidPen Media Center has a vital role in the Palo Alto / Menlo Park (and surrounding) region because it stays true to its mission of making AudioVisual production tools available to each and every citizen with a concept or program that they wish to document and publish.
Their staff maintains a solid selection of cameras, microphones, tripods and other necessary tools. They have a warm and friendly attitude and are eager to explain how and why certain filmi techniques are useful and which projects their studios are best equipped for filmmakers and producers to realize.
The location is convenient too, it’s close to the San Antonio Rd Exit. I am glad they exist and provide this service to the Peninsula region.”

“They have food, showers, and laundry. They have friendly, knowledgeable staff that can help people navigate the system. They also have an excellent bike repair service that not only gave me a bike but also helped me to maintain it. The thing I like about Hope's Corner is that if they can, they will help you out on the same day. The staff members always remember my name even though they help hundreds of people. This is top-notch, grassroots, community organization .”

They are working tirelessly to ensure many have food on the table, that kids don't go to bed hungry and they receive a visit from Santa every year. “I attended some really fun and engaging summer camps, like Music Around the World, and also took part in group piano and private cello lessons. For advanced students, I’d recommend private lessons—they offer excellent teachers at a lower cost than many other places—over group piano theory and practice.”

“A great resource - hired a couple of workers for the glamorous job of digging a hole in heavy clay and hauling rocks and sand. You know, the stuff we are just too old to do ourselves. The folks in the front office were very welcoming and quickly found two for the task. Hard workers, especially after my wheelbarrow broke (its old, like me) and they had to haul drain rock in buckets to the back of the property.”

“I have been going here since 2013, and still go. Very very beautiful campus. Words cannot describe some of it. Very great with kids, amazing community. Very welcoming to newcomers. The phrase “No matter who you are or where you are on your journey of faith, you are welcome here,” is very strong in this church and they really take it to heart. You just checking it out to see if it’s a good church? Sure! You just start believing in god? Absolutely! Do you not even believe in god? Yeah, you can come and see! Everyone is very accepting.”
