“Reserved Joe's Boardroom for work meeting. Rachel and the El Capitan Team are top notch.Reserved 3 suites for colleagues. All quite affordable especially in comparison to not just Merced hotels but Fresno, Modesto and Sacramento.Parking is free at the lot immediately next to the hotel. However, valet parking is only $15 per day.The courtyard is beautiful. Plenty of great common areas to meet and talk. The adjoining restaurant Native Son has great drinks, food, and service.I look forward to returning soon.Rooms: Suites while not the biggest. They are new and luxurious.Nearby activities: Main Street has many restaurants within walkable distance.Safety: Downtown was quiet while we were there.Walkability: Main Street has many restaurants within walkable distance.Food & drinks: Main Street has many restaurants within walkable distance.”

“This facility is right off the highway and very easy to get to.Noteworthy details: My only notes were that I had express permission to park my work vehicle in a particular spot. At 8:30 at night on the second day of my 4 day stay, the desk clerk (?) over-ruled the AM's permission and advised me he was capable of towing my vehicle if not moved.I spoke with the AM the following morning, and she took care of it. Thank you once again!”

“Everything is great except the loud traffic noise on the West side of the building. I’m a heavy sleeper and I was still woken up several times by the large trucks and other loud exhaust vehicles driving by. Very frustrating but next time I’ll have to ask for a room on the other side of the building.”

“The rooms and property are clean, the rooms are quiet, and the beds are comfortable. The chairs and sofas in the suites are rock hard, so I stick to the regular rooms. Unless you want to pay big $ to stay at the El Capitan, this is one of the best places to stay in Merced.”

“We were super worried about this place after reading the reviews on Google, but it isn't that bad. The room and bathroom were clean. ? One picky thing is that the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were all empty. ? We asked the staff, and they quickly provided some soap and shampoo as their conditioner and body wash were out as well. ?There's a fridge, microwave, and coffee machine in our room. ☕ There's also a hairdryer, iron, and clean towels. ? Overall, it's very nice. ?I’m not sure if the air conditioner in our room is broken, it’s LOUD!!! ? I recorded a video of how it sounds like. ?One downside is that there are some homeless people across the street. ?️ Also, because this place is so close to the highway and the streets, we can hear car horns and trains at night, as well as kids running and yelling in the hallway. ???‍♂️But considering how much we're paying compared to places closer to Yosemite, it's fair. ?Rooms: Clean but shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were all empty.Safety: There are some homeless people across the street.Food & drinks: There’s McDonald’s across, and they provide breakfast.”

“Stayed in room with king and Jacuzzi. Everything was nice. The room desk needed finishing. The breakfast was a bit better than most Hamptons. Price was reasonable. Would stay again.”

“The rooms were beyond gorgeous and spacious. The lady at the front desk was so nice and friendly. But the surroundings were a little suspect. Needs security. Just sayin ?”
