Merced Gardens and Nursery is the oldest continuously operating plant nursery in Merced. It is a retail nursery and garden center offering landscape design, fruit trees, citrus, avocados, bedding plants, and specializes in California native and California friendly plants. The staff is super friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and informative, providing amazing guidance and good tips for growing. They have a great selection including flowers, vegetables, non-GMO and organic herbs, a large display of succulents, fruit trees like Fuyu persimmon saplings, and lots of organic dirt and soil amendments. The plants are good, healthy, and never have bugs or infestations. It is a great place to get local plants and advice. Visitors also enjoy the pet chickens. The nursery has won the Merced Sun-Star Reader's Choice Best in Merced Award multiple times.
