*beware* if i could give this place a zero i would! the workers have the worst customer service skills and the owner Tom does not fall short!! i took my 2013 Lexus which runs immaculately for a 120k maintenance. The red face worker was so rude and unfriendly, when i told him i didn't need a car key battery it took him 20 min to "update the order" then we he was done he just walked out and threw his pencil. After they completed the work, immediately my check engine light & vsu (trac on) went on and my trunk was left open. i called back and was told to "i guess bring it back" $1255 for a oil change and spark plugs! damn right ima take it back. toyotech mechanics were not careful and did something to my car for the check engine light to go on. i took it back and was rudely greeted. spoke to the owner tom and that's like speaking to a door knob. he claimed there was a "new" issue and of course wanted to charge me more $$$$ i recommend all who have issues with this facilty to file a complaint with California dept of consumer affairs bureau of automotive repair, as i have done. i never got an apology from the workers or owner tom for my inconvenience and time off from work. stay away from this money pit, dishonest, unfriendly place.

Overpriced! Took my 2006 Prius for a Hybrid Battery Replacement got a quote of $2800 for a remanufactured hybrid battery. It would take 2 weeks... Took it to Nishimoto Hybrid Repair in Fresno and got it replaced for $800 including 1hr of labor! Had it replaced that same day.

Easily the best shop in Merced for my Prius. I’ve dropped in twice and both times they were able to service my car the same day. I see some negative reviews on the pricing, well of course good service comes at a cost and they are still significantly cheaper than the dealer. I trust these guys with anything and will definitely be a returning customer!

A lot of people recommended this place when my prius was having issues. They did a fast and great job on my car but I would only return there out of necessity. It is a very akward place. They don't greet you when you enter the office. I do think the diagnosis is just them getting free money because I told them what was wrong with my car. I gave them $50 (originally $100) and had to wait 1 hour and 20 mins in the small waiting room for nothing. The second time I went, I just dropped the car off and picked it up. The part arrived fast and they changed it in less than the quoted time.

We are from out of town. Locals gave us the recommendation. Part shortages slowed the process down. But, we were treated well and honestly. Our problem had complexities NOT in the repair manual. They demonstrated great skill -- in handlimg situations that are "out of normal".

This place needs better mechanics who know what their doing or more training. When they claim to be basically import specialists. Had issues with their diagnostics or repairs in the past with more than one vehicle. 2000 honda civic had brake light issues. Wont come on. I did my own research and they basically said theirs usually a brake in the line between the back passenger side on the driver side. I just didn't have time to repair myself, and yes that was where the issue was located. Charged extra diagnostic fee before they found it. I had a 99 civic which I took some place else before this. Same problem. They diagnose and fix the issue fast only cost around $100. 1994 toyota pickup. had an engine check light. Issue was supposedly the EGR. I had replaced the EGR before bringing it in. Toyotech claims its the EGR, and was replaced again. A couple of days later the engine check light came back on. They basically took my money and said they don't know what's wrong with it. Did my own research and review the diagram. One of the vacumm hoses were plugged into the wrong area. Problem solved. No thanks to Toyotech. 2007 Acura TL. I brought it in because the car was wobbling when driving on the highway. They diagnosed that it was because my rim/wheels were bent. They pointed out some minor areas where it didn't have dirt on it. They recommend replacing the tires and rims. Paid for diagnostics and took to tire place. Spent $2000-3000 on new rims and tires. Problem didn't go away. Took it in to another place and they said my bushings on the lower control arm were wore out. They basically lifted the car up and shook the tire left and right. There was alot of play. Replaced the lower control arms. Toyotech is not a specialist at anything but scamming people. Don't even know why I gave them so many chances.

Very happy with the service and professionalism at Toyotech. I got my transmission fluid and differential oil changed as well as a new battery and did not get price gouged. Tom and his crew took care of my needs and I will return.

My catalytic converter was stolen and decided to take my Prius to Tototech. Through no fault of the business since Tom, the manager was calling every day to try and find a catalytic converter, I was able to pick up my car 12 days later. I would have had my car back within 8 days, however, the manager was accommodating and kept my car over the weekend plus overnight on Monday because my new enclosed garage was not going to be ready until Tuesday. In addition to helping me with the timeline, Tom drove to Livermore on a Saturday to pick up the catalytic converter. Also received a discount on labor for being a CSAA member.

Took my car in, had to pay for diagnosis and for the issue which came up to almost 2k and he “fixed” it. Then it came back and took my car in again and I had to pay another $100 just so he can check it and he didn’t do anything. It’s a scam avoid this place they just rob your money.

Overpriced! Before I took my car in I was checking prices and they said $80 for diagnosis and when I took my car it was $100
