Great place. I went to Active Marin after joint replacement surgery: knowledgeable staff, individual attention, and online video demos with personal notes for at home exercises. Highly recommended.

I am so grateful for the help from Hanna at Active Marin in helping me recover after a trail running injury had caused persistent knee pain for months and wasn't improving. She was very thorough in her analysis of the issue and put together an easy to follow training plan that started immediately helping. The knee pain is now gone and I also feel stronger and more balanced than before. I was able to run best ever half marathon with a time of 1:21. I also ran my first Marathon and reached my goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon.

I started physical therapy at Active Marin Therapy one week after having injections in my cervical spine for pinched nerves in my neck. My doctor had written a script for physical therapy for shoulder mobility only. However, the physical therapist manipulated my neck in an effort to get it to turn more, which was contrary to the doctor's orders, resulting in severe neck pain that I am still dealing with. I had another therapy session scheduled for the following Monday afternoon but was still in pain after the weekend and cancelled my afternoon appointment early Monday morning. I was charged for the session because I didn't cancel it on Friday! When I explained that my neck pain was the result of the prior session and caused by the therapist, I received no empathy. Lessons learned - don't let any therapist do anything that isn't specially indicated in the therapy script, and make sure that you cancel a Monday appointment by Friday since you'll be charged for the missed appointment even if you are in pain and not physically able to go to therapy.

While I'm still in recovery, I'd like to write a note about how amazing Laura is. I have a complicated pelvic issue which has progressed through my pregnancy and post delivery. Laura provided me some critical mobility alternatives during my pregnancy which really made a huge difference in my pain. Post delivery, I've seen Laura 1-2x a week and am slowly seeing improvements. Laura is extremely competent, provides me with education on my situation, what to expect with progress, and is incredibly patient and reassuring. She is warm, empathetic, and also pushes me. I couldn't recommend her more :)

My experience was very good from making an appointment and being seen on time and feeling like they care. My physical therapist was very easy to work with, and gave me several exercises that I was able to do at home. I would highly recommend active Marin. Richard

Neck sprain, Cindy and Andrew examined and recommended a series of neck exercises. Exercises worked well, and no more strain! Comfortable, no pressure, very professional environment. Highly recommended.

I love this place! Front desk reception staff are warm, effective and fun. My previous PT moved away so when I needed some help I was referred to David by a friend. He is great! He gave me a thorough assessment and then gave me several stretching exercises which have helped my tight hip joint. Now I just have to keep this up at home!

Go here, do the work, get better. I've gone to Active Marin for a few issues over the years, but recovery from a broken pelvis in March required a lot of skill and work. Cindy had incredible ability to observe and know what needed work when. The ongoing PT program helped me re-develop flexibility and strength as I recovered from crutches to walking to riding and finally back to running the trails. It's been a long road, but I would encourage anyone who needs specialized attention from an incredible team of PTs (shout out to Justin for help with the shoulder a few years back) to try Active Marin. Thanks!!

Would not recommend this clinic. I came in on a Sunday and there was no one at the front desk to deal with check-in/payment. I was rushed straight into the appointment by the PT with no mention of co pay. They were however eager to collect my credit card info. The PT was great but I was hurried along like if he didn’t hit a quota he’d be fired. A couple days later I receive a call and I am blind sided with a $260 co pay. In such shock, the words “whoa whoa whoa” came out of my mouth, which the women on the phone mocked me for. Never in my life has a co pay not been discussed before the appointment, and then demanded of me after the appointment. I tried to discuss with the owner over the phone but she kept talking over me and using some irrelevant argument about my insurance that doesn’t explain the fact they failed to follow basic procedure when a patient checks in. I would not have agreed to the appointment if I knew the price tag of the co pay and now I’m stuck with this bill.

Hanna is a terrific physical therapist. She listens and works out a program catered to the individual. All of the staff are extremely professional and helpful with scheduling, etc.

Outstanding! I have worked with many physios over the years, but the team at Active Marin were one of the best. Hannah and Laura worked for 4 weeks with my 15 year old son who was recovering from a soccer knee injury. They were "firm but fair" with him with regards to his return to play protocols (much needed!), really "knew their stuff", and got him rehabbed on time as forecast. Communication was excellent throughout, and continuity and online exercises were well managed through their "patient portal". All in all, great experience and highly recommended.

My PT with Justin Newcomer has been excellent . I switched from an unhappy painful clinic to Active.. and I appreciate Justin’s approach to go TO not thru the pain .. this is gentle strengthen and healing … The active office is gracious and has good light and a modern spacious feeling ..

They do a great job. We have been on multiple occasions. The PTs are all really good. Charlene at front desk goes above and beyond for scheduling. For baseball-specific issues, Justin is unbelievable -- he not only fixes problems but gives us entirely new ways of thinking about movement and how to train for mobility. Highly recommend!
