An absolute gem when it comes to dog boarding. We are SF residents and for the amount of space they have and the value it is worth the quick drive. Our pup Leo has been going here for 3 years now. Staff is super communicative and everyone there really loves their furry customers

Our young puppy (6 months) has been a few times, for daycare and for training. He always looks forward to going and the training definitely helps! Recommend both...

I have two pitbull puppies Ares and Bentley have come here! Aloha Dog is such a great place to bring them to. They staff took the time to meet them and assess them into the right play group and made the process super easy. Everyone is so nice there. I unfortunately live a little far but know if i need a safe place for them to go my girls will be taken care of really well.

I am a local resident who began bringing my 1.5 year old Standard Poodle, Majik, for daycare a few months ago. The daycare service was great, and everyone that I had spoken with was so informative and thorough, verifying our dog's vaccination/health status. Our main focus was gaining control of the smartest (of 4) standard poodles. While we did a few sessions with recommended training professionals, Alpha Dog had been so effective for daycare, we called to inquire about daycare and training that allowed us to have him to share our beds while they did the training. It has been an incredible experience! The training manager, Samantha McCabe, set up his weekly schedule was very helpful with setting up his weekly schedule, guided us through our outdoor and in-home concerns. His primary trainer, Tiana, and Sierra, handled Majik with such care, working with him out at Crissy Field and the Mill Valley Dop Run 2x a week. After only a few sessions, we noticed an enormous (quantum leap!) increase in his responsiveness. He now comes running even if distracted by other dogs (which are his favorite). She even worked with us at the beach to show us how to continue reinforcing the training! He comes, he stops and drops mid run, which might save his life in a threatening situation.AlphaDog, I am really grateful that we thought to come to you and let you lead the way on how we gain control. We are receiving so much value in the training…And in having a more exercised dog who is less unruly around other dogs… Thank you for all you do!

Alpha Dog's Board-n-Train and my one on one sessions with Samantha have been life changing in addressing my Great Dane's leash reactivity. She has addressed the underlying root cause to build Henry's confidence gradually. This has transformed his behavior around other dogs while on leash making our walks fun again. I highly recommend AlphaDog!

The people who work here are very kind, so it pains me to write this review. First, the communication is bad. I waited months for an assessment. Before getting the assessment scheduled, I sent all of my vet records. I explained that I had a dog with a birth defect, and that my vet and I had chosen to leave him intact as a result. AlphaDog told me to have the vet send them a letter and we could get both dogs scheduled for an assessment. Fast forward two months, it's assessment day. I bring the dogs in. They have their four-hour assessment. When I pick up, Veronica, the assistant manager, tells me that they cannot take an intact dog. What a waste of everyone's time. I wasn't going to write a negative review for bad communication. However, my dogs both got kennel cough during their assessment.

If you want a full service place that treats your dog like their own family this is the place. It's also the only place you should go for service dog training! I cannot say enough about AlphaDog and their service dog training by Sierra Berrik. Training Poppy (my service dog) feels like the easy part. She also took the time to train me- she built up my confidence to be my dog's handler, made me comfortable with having a service dog that also served as a visible sign to society that I need help, and practicing all possible situations I could be in with my dog. Poppy practically opens the car door herself to get to AlphaDog. They are vigilant about play styles in the yard, add time for rest, and when Poppy lost a nail playing, they took her straight to urgent care to have it taken care of. When her shots were out of date they notified me and said she couldn't come back until they were updated. While that may seem annoying, I really appreciate they are protecting every dog like they are their own. Plus, they were right! Poppy needed her shots and I had completely overlooked it. Finally, Poppy is TIRED when she comes home. Who doesn't love a tired dog at the end of the day?

I rarely write Yelp reviews but my experience at AlphaDog has been so amazing I had to submit a review. Our dog, George, first went to Alpha for two months of Obedient Training and then completed approximately 6 months of Service Dog Training. All of which was with Sierra Berrik. She was incredible with training both George and my teenage daughter on the entire service dog protocol, process and methods. She is incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, empathetic and both George and my daughter loved working with her. George has successfully graduated and is instrumental to my daughter's holistic health. George continues to go to AlphaDog for daycare and has a ton of fun! My only suggestion for AlphaDog is to highlight your Service Dog Training Program and Sierra on your website. If it is there, it is buried. The only reason I found out that type of training was offered is because I called and the front desk and they told me.

We are *daily* long-term customers. Alpha Dog is very professional, extremely caring and has been a great place for our dogs. I recommend the day care, the boarding, the grooming and the training.

Our puppy contracted a wart (canine oral papilloma) on his mouth after going to daycare here in September, and they told us he isn't allowed back until it's removed or gone. The woman I spoke with was cold and not empathetic at all. She told me that not only could he not come back to Alpha Dog until the wart was gone, but also that all future reservations including holidays would be erased until they had a note from our puppy's vet that the wart was gone. Canine oral papilloma only generally affects puppies under 2 years of age, and typically takes at least 6-8 weeks to fall off. The warts cannot be removed or they will just return (they just need to build their immunity essentially). There was at least one other puppy who also contracted warts at Alpha Dog the same week as our puppy. Since the warts cannot be removed, it's just a waiting process, and now you have nowhere to board or take your dog to daycare until it's gone. When I called to speak to Alpha Dog after researching it and talking with our vet's office, I said that he clearly contracted it there as that is the only place he goes and socializes, and the woman I spoke with asked if he goes on walks?! I asked her if she knew canine oral papillomas are spread through dog to dog contact or by sharing dog toys, and she said she didn't really know how it was spread, but just repeatedly and coldly said that our dog wasn't able to come back until it was gone. Although our interactions with Alpha dog had been great in the past, this was extremely disappointing and frustrating. It also made for a very difficult two months of not having any doggie daycare, boarding, or puppy play dates.

I've been coming here for almost 10 years and I still love this place! Thank you for taking such great care of Meli H. Lucky me for finding such a dynamic, caring group of people : )

This is the BEST place to take your dog!! We have been taking our beagle here since he was a puppy and he loves it. It's so great to be able to drop your dog off somewhere with people who really care, pay close attention to your pup, take great care of them and teach them good habits. It's inconvenient to drop him off since we live in the Marina, but totally worth it! We have used their daycare, boarding, training and grooming services - all great! I love that when I drop off my little guy, he can't get in there fast enough and his tail wags like crazy. They get busy though, so make sure that you call and make reservations.

Our dog Ducky has been going to Alpha Dog 2 times a week for day care for the past year and she is excited to get there EVERY time. We have boarded her there as well with no issues or concerns. I love that they're outside during the day. The front staff is professional and friendly and it is a very well kept establishment. I'm thankful we have a great option close to home. Thanks Alpha Dog! We love having your business in the Mill Valley community and I feel safe keeping my doggo in your hands.

We've been taking our pups to AlphaDog since moving to Marin in October 2018 and could not be happier with their daycare and boarding services. Whether we're leaving them for a few hours, a few days, or a few weeks, we know that everyone on the AlphaDog team will treat our dogs as their own. While I could certainly keep going with my own praise for AlphaDog, the most important feedback comes from the wagging tails as we pull into the parking lot - Lincoln, Millie, and George always know where we are and can't wait to get inside to see their friends!

This is probably a long review I should have written a few weeks ago, but I believe in giving businesses the benefit of the doubt. We boarded Basil here for about 10 days in July and opted for some training to keep him stimulated during his stay, and hopefully improve some of his loose leash walking skills. It was his first time boarding (other than the trial night) and we were notified that Basil had some issues adjusting and slight anxiety while in the crate. We were assured that this was normal for first timers and that he was improving each day. We thought nothing more of this since the report cards we were receiving mentioned that he was doing well and his training was progressing quickly. We picked up him after returning from our trip and the next day Basil had developed kennel cough. We weren't surprised, since we knew how common and frequent contracting kennel cough could be, but immediately called Alpha Dog to let them know so that they could be aware and notify other customers. Initially they denied having any kennel cough cases during Basil's stay, but after talking to the staff about his symptoms more, they admitted that they had two cases during that week but there was no way Basil could have caught it since they were in seperate yards. We found that hard to believe since it's highly infectious, but again, we knew this was a possibility when boarding him and did not not think more. We would, however, have liked more transparency about Alpha Dog having any cases with their customers, like most training/daycare places do in the Bay Area. While we notified them of Basil contracting kennel cough, my partner and I also reached out to Alpha Dog on 3 separate occasions to get feedback from their team on Basil's extended stay and the training that they completed with him. We never heard back after leaving voicemails and messages with the staff who assured us that the managers would give us a call back. It was a bit upsetting not to hear back from any of times we reached out, especially since some of the training notes mentioned that there are some items that they want to teach and review with us. Life got busy, so we put it all on the backburner, but still no outreach from anyone at AlphaDog. We were disappointed by the lack of service, feedback and communication despite paying over $1100 for his stay and training. The final straw for us though is we recently reached out to Alpha Dog to see if they can take Basil for two nights, since a friend had to pull out of watching Basil last minute. Despite our previous experience, we decided to give it one more shot, but again we received no reply to our email. My partner followed up by phone and we were told that Basil was not allowed to board with them anymore since he was anxious the last time. We were told that a manager would need to approve his stay request and that they would have them contact us shortly to discuss. Again, we heard nothing from them at all. I'll be the first to admit that Basil is not perfect, but he's well trained, socialized, happy, and a quick learner. And after repeatedly asking for feedback on multiple occasions, this is the exact kind of information we would have welcomed and worked on with him.Overall we're really disappointed in the service they provided, or lack thereof. It truly seems like they do not care for his training, improvement, or transparency with us. They don't even bother to respond to calls or emails. All this time we could have been working on his overnight stay anxiety or spent the money training him elsewhere where they provide actual feedback and results. Please consider going elsewhere. We've had great experience with Fetch! Bay Area in case you're looking for recommendations for boarding.
