I have never been able to get anything done in a single visit at this location. Absolutely worst communication and manners from the staff at this location, and they make no effort to find a solution.

Quest is the worst lab I have ever had to use. THE WORST EVER!! If you can choose another lab, do so! Even with an appointment there is always a wait because they do not hire enough staff. We have a growing and aging population in Mill Valley and they fire staff. I hate them. Their website has non-existent patient communication. They should not be allowed to do business in California. Welcome to 21st century health care.No patient care. Only concerned with bottom line. I live 2 blocks from Quest in Mill Valley but will drive to Novato to try Labcorp, hoping they are better.

I had an appointment at Mill Valley Quest on 2/5/2024. The app confirmed my appointment, I arrived and it was closed [there was a power outage and many businesses were closed]. I clicked the link they had sent but it told me it did not recognize the link - I guess since they were unable to open that day they cancelled my appointment. I tried to make another appointment, nothing was available so I went the next day at 8AM. There was one employee drawing blood. She said there was nothing she could do about yesterday's appointment and to sign in as stand by. At 8AM I was number 4 on standby. This one employee continued to take people with appointments, one standby person got in. At 10:15AM I was number 3 of 9 on standby. I would ask about whether I should continue to wait, all she said was that she had to take scheduled people first. [One man was waiting to do a sample drop off and had to wait an hour and a half.] At 12:30AM, after waiting 4.5 hours, still fasting, so now 18 hours without eating, I was still number 3 on the standby list. The woman taking blood had disappeared and a young guy started taking people. I asked him if I should stay, he said all appointments were filled that day and that they stopped taking standbys at 3PM. At this stage there were many people with appointments and they were so behind on those, with many complaining about wait time, so I left. They took 1 standby person in 4.5 hours and gave all the people coming in as standby no advice about the likelihood of getting an actual appointment. A ridiculous waste of time for me and so many others. It is very hard to get an appointment in Mill Valley, there used to be 2 Mill Valley Quest locations, and now with one location where they have one employee working is ridiculous. Shame on you Quest for wasting so many hard-working peoples' time. Appalling service. Very difficult to get an appointment [I made mine weeks in advance] and virtually impossible to get in as standby, so we are basically fucked by Quest Mill Valley. People coming in and saw the number waiting were saying there were going to try San Francisco or go North to Greenbrae - another huge waste of peoples' time. Thanks Quest for screwing us royally.

I was the first person in the office and the first person on the standby list. Two hours in I was told that it could be a few more hours before I was seen. I will go somewhere else.

I was the first one in the door and the first on the waiting list. Two hours later I asked whether they would be seeing any walk-ins. I was rather coldly told that it could be three hours or more. So I left. As others have noted, this seems to be a systemic issue with at least this location. Quest makes no provision for seeing patients who come in without an appointment. That's not the technicians' fault. But there are some of us who cannot wait three or four weeks for an appointment and Quest needs to build in some provision for those patients.

Only one person working here at a time apparently. Waited ninety minutes with a stat order (that my doctor said would put me first in line due to urgency) and didn’t even get seen.

First of all, they have one employee working alone and doing everything, including drawing your blood, mopping the floor etc. (little bit concerning if that's the acceptable health standard). I walked in the afternoon so I was the only customer there and I needed her to check the system to see if all my orders have been transferred to their system from another lab. I would much preferred to get that info over the phone or online but their system was useless for getting any information, so I had to come in person. Which was not that much useful either. She seemed unwilling and not motivated to help. Will avoid this location in the future.

It doesn't matter which location you use. Quest is the least user friendly health system I've experienced, Mexico aside. Reserving a time/place doesn't go well and it's useless calling any number listed anywhere. It's almost bad enough to cause me to find a dr in the area who isn't tied to this lab for tests.

4 hour wait for walk ins at 11am and still was number 6 on waiting list (started at number 2 4 hours earlier). Joined one medical for a faster blood draw.

Even a simple time sensitive drop off of prepared specimens is a big ordeal here. For something that one can’t even make an appointment for the wait is unacceptable. Additionally, my first attempt I tried 25 minutes before they were supposed to close and the doors were locked with nobody there.

I see these negative reviews from entitled people who expect immediate attention. I was given the utmost respect and customer service. They are understaffed and overworked. Give them a break and you’ll be treated the same way as you treat them.
