We went there to buy flowers for Mother's Day. Their selection was great and the Korean lady (sorry that I forgot her name) at the kiosk was very helpful in putting together the flowers that we bought.

disastrous service in the deli. I asked 4 people where I could get a sandwich and 20 minutes later and having been given a run around I finally walked out as tge sandwich maker refused to make a sandwich claiming I had called him stupid which was patently a lie. you can email me at Prima49@ Aol.com.

I used to be a regular at this Safeway back when I worked in Daly City and San Francisco. This is a very convenient location that is located in the heart of Millbrae. You can take the ECR bus here and go right into the store. People from all walks of life come here. Sometimes I see coworkers here and sometimes it's full of natives who are trying to stock up on groceries or it could be some librarians who want to take a snack break. I got numerous drinks here that fit my tastes here and it's a good pick me up before I went to work. Service here by the employees is a little better than my local Safeway. Drawback: If you are not getting drinks I recommend caution because the quality of some items can be a weird. Don't go for the cake slices they are super bland.

I have been to a few other safeways. This is the worst one! The ready to eat sandwiches are a mess, the soup is tasteless, the cake slices are stale! They didnt have small soup container, they also had no spoons! How do eat soup without a spoon! The person at the deli counter could not speak english. Its hard to order a sandwich when they dont know what youre asking for Will not be back

I love this Safeway as it's always clean ( minus a few times their restroom) and good service. This particular location is one I'm most familiar with as I came here often with my mom growing up, so I know where everything is and etc. The most recent time I was at this store, the cashier I had named Karen, was not only friendly but also took her time to ensure I was taken care of with the utmost professionalism and patience. She never exposed any form of negative emotions and maintained a good attitude throughout my experience there, which I greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you Safeway for the necessities and stay open when I needed it. Restroom needed some TLC but still, I survived.I stopped by for nature's call. So, I shopped a little bit afterwards. Starbucks has few items that interested me. But I went to deli section to get a quick bite. The store was clean and inviting. I didn't interact with cashiers at check out. So, my overall experience was pleasant. The parking garage is really convenient, especially it's right across from USPS.

3.5 stars, pretty standard Safeway. I like coming here more than the old fluorescently lit Luckys in Burlingame. Pros:- holiday decor is the best, way over the top. In September they already had dueling Halloween and Christmas decor up- huge parking lot and good nearby shops that are walkable- overall good selection and relatively large space to roam- pharmacy has been great for vaccines Cons:- produce is hit of miss -- some good deals and quality, some outrageously high priced basic items - ready to eat food can be hit of miss -- we like the California rolls and inari sushi - there's often a line for check out (both self and service), usually not enough cashiers open - not clean, lots of dirty corners full of dust

Good place to stop for grocery shopping as well as quick pitstop..if you're driving from San Jose, to San Francisco International Airport. Easy to find with decent parking lot.Escalator leads right up to the store/shopping area.

Often, sale or free items are out of stock or "we haven't received any stock". Meat Department is poorly run. Many items are not stocked even though a space in the refrigerator with a sign is prepared. Have to go to Meat counter to ask for them. Yet, the department is understaffed which causes a long wait. Not one because Bakery Department is well managed and staffed. Self checkout stands are also well managed.Somewhere dirty near the main entrance. Caused by homeless? Carts are not wiped down though wipes are available.

So disappointed. Since my son was home, I thought we would have a treat: sushi, fried chicken and potato salad (all not the healthiest). I do have to say that there were an assortment of sushi and the sushi staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the salmon rolls and the California rolls. What disappointed me was the fried chicken. It was crispy, a bit over cooked. To my surprise, I was given a drumstick that was half the size of another. This is not to mention, the drumsticks were rather small in the first place. Picture attached to show variance. So, where is the quality assurance?

My husband and I shopped at Safeway in Millbrae, CA. We wanted to purchase sliced meats, cheeses, and salads at the Deli Counter, however there were no Safeway employees willing to serve us. There were 3 employees just standing around at the far end of the deli section. I asked if they could serve us, but they shrugged their shoulders and totally ignored us. After 5 minutes, I asked again, and they ignored us, again. My husband approached another employee who said someone would be at the deli in 5 minutes. We waited another 10 minutes. Then I hunted for other employees (who were hard to find), and asked 2 other employees, separately, if we could get service at the deli--this was difficult for me because I am a senior citizen, with cancer, and disabled. After 25 minutes, my husband saw that he needed to serve himself, so he obtained an empty paper container, lifted up the front plastic cover of the deli meat and salad display, and spooned salad into the container. He also lifted the meat he wanted carved out of the display case and onto the counter. After he had done this, 40 minutes from our arrival at the deli, an employee finally arrived and my husband told her to weigh the container of salad and carve the meats and cheeses. By the way, there were other customers waiting. This shopping experience was both painful for me and egregious to us both. In all of our contacts with Safeway employees at Millbrae, NO ONE WANTED TO SERVE CUSTOMERS. We have been shopping at Safeway stores throughout the SF Bay area for over 30 years. We have now decided to stop shopping at Safeway and go to Lucky, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe's instead.

Employees at this store are wonderfully helpful and polite. Another shopper needed help finding a product we both looked for and couldn't find. Our checker knew right where it was and went and got it for her! Great service.

Have to agree with the other reviewers. The employees here are rude. Definitely not returning to Safeway. Thankfully, there are alternatives to Safeway when I'm in the Bay Area such as Molly Stone's, Trader Joe's, Target, etc. Even better, my trips to the Bay Area will be very limited to none very soon once I get our corporate office closed at the end of May. It's so nice having everyone at our company working remotely from home. Once that's completed, I will have no reason to return to the Bay Area. But, if for some very strange/odd reason I need to return to the Bay Area, there's no way I will go to a Safeway/Albertonson's/Lucky's following this experience. In LA, I mostly shop Ralph's and Pavilion's via delivery service, but following this, I'm giving Pavilion's the ax. There's a reason people are losing their jobs to automated. Horrible customer service resulting in loss of sales and customers is a big one; along with the unnecessary overhead costs affiliated with hiring a laborer when majority of their tasks could be performed with an automated system. I stopped by this store at 7:00 this morning. The laborer in the self check-out area was rude from the beginning. I sensed her attitude immediately. I don't tolerate such crap from anyone. I dished it back. I simply asked her if they had any other bags with the lining I could purchase. I could tell she was ignoring me with attitude. She then asked "what"? I then abruptly and loudly asked her a second time. I checked-out and left the big shopping cart there since I did not need to take it to the garage. Plus, I figured if that employee was going to give me attitude, I'll dish it right back. She can deal with the cart! As I was going down the escalator to the garage, I could here the laborer loudly ranting with attitude about the cart. If I wasn't so tired after getting very little sleep last night, I would have returned, put that laborer in her place, return all items and demand a refund. I have stated this common sense principle numerous times...customer service cannot be taught. It is an innate common sense skill. One either has the skill or they don't. There's no teaching it! It is clear the laborer this morning lacks that common sense skill. And, from numerous Yelp reviews documenting very identical issues with their laborers bad behavior, it's clear this company does not care or worry about it, otherwise, we would not be reading similar complaints/reviews. Your badly behaved laborers are a toxic liability to your company, but hey, if you don't care, neither do we. It's your loss, not mine! There are many competitor stores out there. You are not a monopoly!

Not sure others people experience. Bought milk on Friday and it was supposed to be good till the 19th and it's already expired. And it's only at this location I have this problem. I don't want to be that person that goes and exchanges milk but I'm not buying from there again
