I can't say enough about this winery. Gorgeous views, friendly & helpful staff, and amazing wines. I usually prefer white wines, but absolutely loved the Pinot noir that we got from the tasting menu. So much so that it was the only bottle we purchased to bring home. We did enjoy all the wines, but it was my favorite of the bunch. They also had live music and the band was awesome! So friendly and talented. I wish we had, had more time to spend there. Can't recommend this winery enough!!!

This place is a little hidden jewel. The views are fantastic and the service is excellent. However I didn't do any wine tasting as I was driving. What I have gathered from the experience of other people that it's a boutique winery right in the middle of all the hustle bustle of Silicon Valley. The owners are very lovely people and the staff is always willing to accommodate. Please call and make reservations as it's not open like most wineries in the upper north. It's a great place to take a drive and see the BayArea with an bird eye view. They've won several awards recently for their Cabernet franc and other varieties of wine. So I highly recommend this place. Good luck with your wine journey. Cheers

Would you believe I am a new Tasting Room Associates and chief bottle washer and know nothing jack of all trades, but I have tasted only the Santa Cruz Mtn merlot?! Purchased 2017 competitor for estate Cab Fr for baseline for future evaluation!

You can't deny the beautiful views here! Nothing beats drinking wine and eating charcuterie while watching the sunset. They had about 4-5 selections of each red and white wine. There wasn't much of an interaction/service with staff beyond picking up the wine and the server dropping off the food. I honestly enjoyed the charcuterie more than anything lol.

came by on a Sunday afternoon & they were able to seat out group of 4 without a reservation. there was a live duo band singing really nice music in the background too. wine wise, you can choose to have the tester flights of 4 (prices range from $18-$25 depending on what you opt for), single glasses of wine, or go by the bottle. sun was shining really strong in summer at 4pm, but guess it'll be really pretty sitting out in the front porch when the sun's setting or when the weather cools ?

Came in with a group of ladies. All of us moms having a nice day out. One of the ladies called the winery about a week ahead of time to ask about a reservation and to ensure we could all be seated together. She asked if we would need to put down a deposit to be sure we could all sit together we were told that would not be necessary. We arrived at the winery. Nice looking place with a beautiful view. We checked in and told there was no table for us . We were disappointed but managed to put a couple tables together and made it work. We paid for our tasting but didn't like the fact that we had to walk back down to the front to receive a new pour each time. I tried the white wine flight. They were ok nothing I wanted to purchase. There was a gentleman playing music and a lady singing. The lady took a break and the man continued to play music. We were seated right in front of him when he starts to play let my people go. I thought to myself I can't be hearing this but I was and I was not the only person that noticed his song choice. I was undone. When he was finished one of the ladies in my party asked him if he had a playlist or he just played and he said he didn't have a playlist he just played by what he saw. He is not an employee of the winery but it is not a good look. We did purchase 2 charcuterie trays as most of the other appetizers were not available. It was pretty good although we were not fans of the bologna on there. Overall I had a fun time because of the people I was with but I don't think I would come here again.

We had a great time hosting our 10-year reunion here mid-July. The venue and staff exceeded expectations. I'll definitely consider them again for other private events.Staff:Kayla from BDV was an extraordinary event manager - super responsive, reliable, and easy/fun to work with. She really helped with the event planning nerves, and I'd love to work with her again :)Venue: BDV is truly a hidden gem in the South Bay. Great spot to enjoy the sunset and escape the heat waves. We hosted our event in the evening during a heat wave, but since the winery is in the hills, we had a good breeze and it just felt like a pleasant summer day.Wine: Try the Pinot Gris (recommended by a non-white wine drinker).

Good wine, beautiful location. They allow dogs. On weekends, they tend to have a live band.

The view is nice. For a small winery the grounds are good with tasting area and event area. Staff was polite and attentive. There was a live band and we had fun dancing to it. Wines are good. About a mid level experience but a lovely way to spend an afternoon without driving too far. Would probably be an awesome space to see a concert or have an event.

I love Big Dog so much that I always find myself back here! We had our ten year HS reunion here last month and it gave us the most beautiful sunset! Although the weather was set to be over 99 degrees, the vineyards was up high and gave us a nice cool breeze. Kayla - raise your glass - has gotten to be the best host out there. Not only was she accommodating with us through out our weeks of planning but also amazing service on the day of. The wine was delicious and perfect for the occasion. 10/10 recommend for events, celebrations, corporate parties, anything really!

My favorite winery in the Bay Area. 1. The location is the best: you can enjoy sunsets, it's not deep in the mountains, the place is spacious. 2. The staff is super helpful and friendly. They will answer all your questions, offering the best wine choice you were looking for. 3. There are many interesting events in summer, live music during the tasting and an opportunity to book the place for the event. 4. They have one of the best memberships: You pay for the wine and get free tastings as a valuable member!
