I used PODS after considering all options and I almost talked myself out of it due to the bad reviews, but it worked out great and I saved $2k compared to the companies pushing for good reviews. The only complaint is that I got both a text and an email with pick up/drop off time and they were different. Apart from that, moved all our belongings coast to coast and it showed up in good shape on time.

Refused to drop the pod at our new house, after we took pictures and verified with them that it would work ahead of time. Lost two days and hundreds of dollars having to rent a truck to unload the pod at their warehouse into the truck, then unload again at the new house. This is our third time using them, the other two times went fine (hence two stars and not one). Will look for alternatives next time.

The absolute worst experience moving I have ever had. This is about PODS as a national company--NOT the Milpitas location, who I am sure are lovely people. The kicker is even the national PODS customer service representatives agreed that they had never seen such terrible service as on my account. I moved from LA to SF. In scheduling, I clearly stated it was not a local move and I provided a promo code for a discount. Tl;dr: neither was put into my account so I was overcharged and missed my move-in window by the apparently weeks it takes to ship a POD container from LA to SF. How much did they care? No one ever called me back to address or fix these issues. Fast forward a year later--that's right, a whole year later, and I am finally in a place to have my POD unloaded and stored. But I can't get the drop-off scheduled--it says there is a processing error on their side to try again. No surprise trying again doesn't work. I have an invoice to pay that covers the next 30 days that was due yesterday-so maybe that's the issue. I pay half of it--as I imagine the challenge of getting refunded by PODS--still doesn't work. So I go to pay the balance--payment processing error. I try again--same--I try again with a different card--same processing error. NIGHTMARE!! I am stuck in this PODS hell-can't schedule a drop off--can't pay my account. If you are thinking like PODS sounds like a convenient option-it's not. Its expensive. It's inconvenient--movers don't want to unload them. Self storage areas won't let you place them outside your storage unit to transfer items. And some customer service reps are lovely people with competence and integrity but cannot fix the damage already done and others lack competence to the point of negligence. And it seems like the PODS management team doesn't really care how that impacts customers. Save yourselves and go somewhere--anywhere else and save yourself the hassle, stress, aggravation, and wasted money that comes from trying to do business with the PODS Moving and Storage company.

If i can give negative stars i would. DO NOT USE PODS. They make it seem easy but its not. Ive been delayed 5 days now. Today as I sit over 1 hour outside my delivery window i have not received a single call, email, or text. Apart from that, they threatened to charge me the extra delivery days for their error! Just rent your own U-Haul and drive it yourself. Save money, and know that your stuff will arrive a certain day.

Our POD was delivered and picked up on time, was in good shape, and very clean. I'd use them for temporary storage in the future.

UPDATE 09.14.23 I've downgraded the PODS experience to single star.72 hours later--24 past the time it indicated it would have a resolution or request for additional information--its done nothing. Its social media section responded to this review and has passed the matter to no fewer than 3 people who are "familiarizing" themselves with the matter. I asked how much longer it estimated it would take to meaningfully and effectively respond--answer- "we ask you to allow the team time to familiarize themselves with your account." Time is a metric. You must provide a unit based on its intervals for the measurement to be meaningful. Eight hours later, I was on hold--again--while a rep familiarized --20 minutes and counting and the rep hung up when trying to transfer the call. So, PODS either has hundreds of complaints its had to escalate or it simply does not prioritize customer care once money is in hand or both.Where are my things? No idea? How close are they to their destination and accessible on the day requested and confirmed? How will it help mitigate the expected additional time without my household furnishings? No idea. How much am I out in cost of transit and delay so far? Nearly two grand.

Our pod container experience was AWFUL. Each document (with sensitive personal information) was sent to pods numerous times, to numerous email addresses, from numerous computers, cell phones, devices, and even from different countries! They kept bouncing back to us, claiming the documents they requested contained sensitive information which wouldn’t pass their own firewall securities. It was extremely frustrating, because documents were randomly accepted. We requested to send these documents using alternative measures, such as fax, courier, snail-mail, in person, etc, but the ONLY way to send them was by email. All-in-all, the process of getting 9 .pdf documents to them took well over 3 weeks, which of course delayed our container delivery and resulted in additional charges because our stuff was stored longer than we wanted. On the receiving end of our container, we were without our stuff for wayyyy longer than we expected and had to buy and bunch of stuff that we had shipped in our container, just to get by.Empty promises of returned phone calls, associates ensuring us that notes were being made, or that emails were being sent, only to have them confirm that these things never happened. We were told repeatedly that they had never encountered the issues we experienced before which I found so hard to believe. It was incredulous the way we were treated. We’re typically not ones to complain, but until we were literally calling every day to follow up on actions they ensured were being completed, we didn’t get anywhere with “our” issues. I will never use PODS again and am kicking myself for not picking the MORE EXPENSIVE option of a professional moving company. Even at a time such as this, where prices of everything are so high. I’m sure others have had better experiences, but ours was something I wouldn’t even wish upon the worst. I hope someone with some clout reads this and reaches out to better understand what we went through to help improve their processes.

Words fail meThe shipper named (Adam) stupidity and rudeness was at its best. I have never spent such a difficult day trying to pick up a load and face such a horrible and disrespectful shipper. I wish I could give you a zero star.

I would absolutely not recommend PODS for your cross country moving needs. We engaged to have them help us move our home from NC to San Fran in January. When we arrived in San Fran and had our scheduled date of delivery (which also required us to purchase permits from the city to have the POD dropped on our street). We also had movers scheduled through their recommended moving helpers. The day before delivery they called to tell us unfortunately our pod would not arrive because there had been an issue with their Oakland storage facility and it had been shut down due to city permitting. They informed us we would not be getting our pod for at least 2 days and that it could take at least a week or more. After hours on the phone with their customer service people and also talking with a manager they said there was nothing they could do. So we removed our parking sign permits and canceled the mobbing help. The next morning at 7am a PODS driver calls me to say he is on the way with the POD!!! Wth? We have no parking permits out, neighbors parked all around the house and no ability to unpack the pod since we had to cancel the movers. Frantically we have to wake up our neighbors and then call all over the place to try to find new moving help. We ended up finding someone that cost 3 times our original estimate. PODS customer service has been absolutely diabolical. I have literally called them at least 8 times and now written over 20 emails. They have denied any type of liability and wouldn't even agree to cover the cost of the cancellation charges we incurred with the first movers we had to cancel based on the direction and information PODS provided. Eventually they wrote me and unilaterally told me the case was closed and they wouldn't make any amends for their disastrous quality of service. Please look to use another company - PODS is not a service I would recommend to anyone (writing this 6 months later and still despite taking this up through multiple customer service routes at PODS they have made zero amends.

We did not have a positive exp using POD for our house move. The driver was excellent. The customer support team was the worst I've exp. We paid THOUSANDS of dollars to store our items ON our own land, only to have to move everything ourselves anyway. Be sure they actually deliver in your location or state. They don't cover many areas of Ca which was not disclosed up front. But they sure loved the reoccurring CC charges they kept billing us for! What a joke!? Just buy your own container and hire someone to move it, or just move everything yourself!

Website does not work. Pod unit number and location are mis matched. It takes over an hour to reach an agent. Accounting is completely messedup. To get it corrected you have to call and wait for hours. Chat does not work. Avoid them like the plague!!

I am not complaining about the PODs Milpitas warehouse. The Milpitas warehouse's manager is a wonderful manager. He help me a lot on my pods. Appreciate your help. But I want to complain PODS customer service.Moving / relocate is a stress time, but the way PODS support customer make us more stressful...I have a bad experience about PODS services. I live in San Jose. I was buying a new build house in Elk Grove and plan to moving there in 6 months. So I rent a pod and storage my stuffs at the warehouse for a couple months until the house complete. Unfortunately, the new build house was not qualify and we cancel the contract. So we're continue in San Jose, and request to update the delivery address to San Jose to take out all stuffs. I was use all of the way to contact Pods by email, by chat, by hotline. But all way doesn't affected. The chat support said that he/she doesn't have permission to update the address. The hotline give me 4-5 hours per day to listening music. Email has not any answer for a week. I requested hotline to call me back and a man tell me that Pods doesn't serve the zipcode 95148 in San Jose (That's crazy - because a pods is putting near my house).Be careful when use this service!

Needed a POD for storage while getting new carpet. It was avaliable for delivery almost immediately. Had no issues with delivery or pick up. Highly reccomend a POD for moving, storage during renovations, etc.

The process could not have been simpler. We had a quick move and PODs provided the ability to go with the flow of what was needed as it came up
