So grateful to the wonderful team of professionals here at animal urgent care. Very compassionate, professional, and reasonably priced given the urgency of our Poms urgent medical needs following a vaccine reaction at 3am. Highly recommend these fabulous Dogtors and Vet techs ?

Sadly our beloved fur baby passed and we were shattered. The animal urgent care made this process so loving and unforgettable. They compassion love and support they showed not just day of but the week that followed were truly unforgettable. They sent a lovely card from all the staff with her ink footprint n flowers and then with our ashes that got delivered we received more than we were expecting. Our sweet angel came home with her ashes in an engraved box with her name on it and a clay footprint. They made this hard time so loving and cherish able. I was soo beyond grateful for the love they put in to return by baby home . I can't thank them enough for the love the showed our family. We are truly thankful. Thank you

I don't usually write reviews. However, I was compelled to because I had to put my cat down here and the Doctors were nothing but kind and compassionate while we grieved the loss of our kitty.Additionally, we received a card signed by the whole staff and received her paw prints on a separate card. I know this is customary for Vets to do when you lose a pet I just wanted to point out that the cat on the cover of the card was orange as well as the paint they used to do my cat's pawprints. She was an orange cat. That's care right there. So, I'm writing this review in part to say thank you, and in part to say I 100% recommend this place to anyone seeking emergency care for their companion.

Took our sick little girl dog in on a Sunday morning after showing many ailments over the last year that even with regular vet visits and medications only got worse.Dr. Cross and Vet Tech Brittany were very professional and helpful in discussing our options. We appreciate them and will recommend this Urgent care.

Our sweet dog Zoe passed and we brought her in for cremation. They were so kind, gentle and caring. Then we received the sweetest card. Highly recommend going here.

I would like to warn pet owners NOT to take their pets tl Animal Urgent Care of South O.C. My poor lil dog went through so much pain and she died in their care. I was mislead by my vet thinking they offer surgical services … they do not!! They made me wait 7 hrs before my dog was seen!! she died in their care and they are to blame.. I would wish this horrible experience on my worst enemy..Thank you

This review is for this facility which has dramatically changed for the worst, as it is under new ownership; be forewarned. Our dog had a traumatic injury and we needed a veterinarian to evaluate her; When we brought our dog into Urgent Care at 1:320AM, we were informed that it would be 6 hours until the veterinarian saw her, as we was making "hospital rounds". That Being totally absurd, we took our dog to the San Juan Clinic Emergency Clinic and received IMMEDIATE and EXCELLENT CARE. If you are an "emergency hospital than BE IT" if not, these negative reviews will catch up with you, and reveal the soul and true nature of your establishment.

My 14 year old cat who we knew was going to pass soon (she had stopped eating and was peeing on herself) suddenly started crying in pain and was falling over and couldnt stand or walk anymore. While we had wanted to let her pass peacefully in her own home, without the stress of being put in a carrier and driven to the vet, we had no choice when she started crying in pain.We called all the local vet offices (RSM and Foothill Ranch) and they were closed. We were panicked that she would have to suffer all night. But then Banfield at Petsmart referred us here. We got here and were seen quickly after our paperwork was completed. I was helped by Tara Zamora, who was so compassionate. I was in the room when she put my cat down. She talked sweetly to my cat and petted her gently as she did it. She explained what she was doing before doing it. She assured me my cat would be fully sedated before stopping her heart, so she would not feel pain when she passed. My cat was quickly out of pain. I obviously hope I dont have to go through this again BUT if I do, I would request to see the same person again, and come here again. My cat was like a best friend to me and although they did a great job, I was broken hearted. Which is why it meant so much to me when I got a card from their office signed by the staff, that included footprints of my cat to remember her by, which I am having framed. I didnt expect this, and it really made all the difference.

My Frenchie had her regular vaccines at our regular vet in the morning and at around 5pm started to swell up around the eyes and then nose/mouth area. I was in a panic. We called our vet who had left for the day but the assistant recommended this center. They saw us right away, took care of my dog with steroids. I’m so thankful to the Doctor and staff at this place. Thank you for taking care of our sweet pup.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE. They are not saving your pet's life. Instead, they are just trying to charge you as much as possible even if your pet doesn't need it.Worst experience ever!!! My cat had a fever so I was trying to find urgent care to help relieve his symptoms. We searched Google and found that this animal hospital had good reviews and came in. After this visit, I am highly doubtful about the reliability of their reviews. Thank you for charging me the pricy exam fee but ended up getting nothing. The wait time wasn't that long, and the first technician, Eric, was friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Zamora came in and talked a bit and mentioned that we could decide if we wanted to have the tests done at this hospital or take some medication. Then a female technician came in and told us that Dr. Zamora would not prescribe antibiotics for my cat, and gave me a list of estimated treatment plans including prices. My cat only had symptoms of fever, and they recommended a 2900+ treatment plan, which was way over the top. The lists also included a treatment called IV Injection and she said it would help my cat have an appetite for food. Funny enough, I told the doctor my cat didn’t have any other symptoms except fever, as he was eating well and peeing normally. Why should he be prescribed this extra injection? The female technician was smart enough to have her name tag covered by a sticker. She explained to us that my cat needed to be hospitalized! That's weird because my cat had a fever of 104 once, and the original vet never asked us to hospitalize him. The vet just did a series of tests for him and prescribed antibiotics. Then she acted like a salesman and recommended various fluids procedures to help with my cat's dehydration. I asked her what are these treatments for? The original vet only gave him fluid subcutaneous. She replied, "fluid subcutaneous is not for your cat since he has a fever right now." ( I guess they didn’t recommend it because fluid subcutaneous is cheaper)The funny thing is, after I declined all of the recommended plans, they brought in another estimated plan with fluid subcutaneous. I was confused and asked, "What is this? You just told me that's not working for my cat?" How hilarious she got angry and raised her voice, "so what do you want?" In fact, I am not surprised or mad at her, but it's obvious this woman was rude, unreliable, unreasonable, and dishonest. How does this make sense??? She suddenly got mad at me after I uncovered her lies. Is this the kind of quality and service of your staff?Your vet is not here to save lives, it's just a business to you guys. If we decline your overpriced sales, you will refuse to prescribe us medication to help our cat temporarily reduce his symptoms. I felt threatened and disappointed, I would never recommend any of my friends to come here!!! Please pay attention and trust those bad reviews.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. This is the most amazing and caring group of people I have ever met. I had two experiences in a week with two different pets/family members. They are quick, caring, thorough and so experienced. Highly recommend.

This place is super clean, the staff is friendly and they took great care of my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They saw her quickly and I was very impressed as they then reached out and followed up with my own vet to let them know they saw her.

My wife and I brought in our 75 pound dog Hammy early early on Sunday morning having no idea what was wrong with him. Once I described his symptoms to Samantha at reception, two clearly experienced and caring vet techs came out to the car with a stretcher to bring him in. They immediately recognized that the situation was dire and rushed him inside. Unfortunately, Hammy stopped breathing shortly after that. The staff worked to resuscitate him for quite some time, and Dr. Cross and Samantha kept us updated and explained his condition. It was clear that the staff here really cares about their work and knows how much our 4 legged friends mean to us. They were very compassionate and patient, genuinely caring and understanding what we were going through. The facilities, hours, etc. are all fine, but the way every single person there handled this very difficult situation is what earns a 5 star rating from me. We had taken our previous dog here years ago when she had a very scary reaction to a bee sting, and they handled that situation with the utmost professionalism as well. We are lucky to have such a great facility in our community. Thank you!

I've come here in the past with my other dogs but this is by far the worst experience. I found my dog with an ear hematoma on Sunday. His ear flap was swollen and fluid-filled. We immediately took him here to get checked where he was diagnosed with an ear hematoma and severe ear infection. Dr. Molly Backus was treating my dog and she provided us options regarding treatment. She told us they can either drain it or they can do a surgery to attach the flaps together to prevent it from happening again. I specifically asked her what her opinion was on what we should do. She told my partner and I that she recommends draining it and we can check back with our vet within a week or so to follow up with the treatment that it's working (draining, head wrap, ear drop medications, and oral medications). It's Monday and it's as if his ear was never drained. I don't know how I spent $1k on one visit and nothing happened. My previous dog who had a worse emergency had about the same charges. Both are large shepherd dogs. We spent $235 on sedation (short procedure), $102 on IV injection, and $212 on ear hematoma repair apart from the emergency exam, clinical support, cytology, no flap ear wrap, and medications. At $549 and it's back to where I started just yesterday! It has not even been a full two days and his ear is swollen. I spoke to a Teresa Garcia (Tech) on the phone who told me that the doctor explained that this would happen again. That is not how Dr. Molly Backus explained it. I had my partner and my friend in the room with us while the doctor was explaining the treatment. As I said earlier, she mentioned it's a possibility. She did not mention it would happen the next day. Teresa Garcia (Tech) also proceeded to tell me that they don't perform that surgery. But Dr. Molly Backus offered it as one of the options for treatment. We made an appointment right away with our vet who questioned us why the doctor didn't perform the surgery right then and there. I am starting to wonder now too. I asked to speak to someone regarding this but Teresa Garcia (Tech) says no one is available at this time (called at 6:45PM) that she will leave a message with Marina Songer. She explained that management does not have a set schedule and so we don't know when Marina Songer can assist us. I am feeling very frustrated and upset at this situation. I don't know why I spent this much and I am back to square one. I was leaning towards surgery in the first place but Dr. Molly Backus told us (in a condescending tone and look) that she would do the draining. Waiting for their call. Calling other urgent cares. A side note: while waiting for my dog to come out, I heard the receptionist answering phone calls telling people their rooms are all full right now despite all the exam room doors open and lights off. It's becoming hard to trust this place.
