did mortgage refinance thru Charles Schwab. They got us 0.25% lower rate than normal. Quicken actually does the refiance.. Quicken closed in 3 weeks at 4.0% fixed. We fired prior brokers who tried to hit us with additional $2k in fees at closing and had us at higher rate.

I'm really surprised to see so many negative reviews about this location. I had an experience that is a complete 180 from what the other negative reviews have stated. I also thought the receptionist, Carly was really nice and professional. She was really helpful as I've never owned a stock until this past Tuesday. ( Psst... Buy MGTI) I doubt my review will.carry much weight since I'm a novice to the securities world, but if you are a noon like me, visit this branch. Five stars.

I went in to ask questions about opening an account for savings, retirement planning, and just overall consideration to switch banks. I honestly felt as if I inconvenienced the receptionist. After asking to speak with somebody regarding an opening of an account, she simply referred me to the computer against a wall to create my own account. I guess I'll figure everything out on my own.

They recommended and sold us a fund that tanked. We tried to sell it. Schwab said hold on an you will see. So it tanked more. We finally joined a class action suit and got part of it back. Schwab cancelled my account. If you want advice watch CNBC and do it yourself.

I have found one of the account reps (Eric) to be very helpful. HOWEVER, the receptionist is so unhelpful that I hope to never see her again. I REALLY like Schwab, I love their Westlake VIllage Branch, their Carlsbad Branch and their Irvine branch. It is important for service businesses to understand that "first impressions" matter. The front desk person gives a lousy "go away" first impression.
