First Citizens used to be a decent place to bank. Before the move to this current address from just up the street on Crown Valley, the people were kind, friendly, always greeted you by name despite seldom visits, etc. Now it's just a cavernous slab of marble with two straight faced, lack luster "people" sitting 50 feet from the front door who avoid eye contact. One can rarely expect to see the same two faces for more than a few months these days. There was one stand out hispanic/latina woman for a while who was quite friendly and gregarious with a real personality(not copy and paste), but I guess they couldn't handle the lack of homogeny. If you like a pasty, sterile banking environment then this place is absolutely for you. In my two occasions of dealing with employees a bit higher in the chain of command, the demeanor was similar and even adversarial when approached with a complaint. The tellers are just towing the line, but those higher are just liars. If you have to deal with this bank, you'd be best off choosing a different branch at least. Really disappointed to walk away from a bank because of the poor behavior of one branch. Alas, the bank chose these people to be the front line so they'll get what they get. As a bonus, there's no ATM at this location after several years since relocating and despite the website claiming there is a 24 hour ATM - just another lie...

Although I do not bank at this branch, please be aware that it is not OWB any longer and is very consumer unfriendly. Terrible rates and many charges. Trying to make consumers aware. OWB was amazing. What a change of ownership can do.

Great company. Has a strong focus on customer service and provides a good commercial lending product for business. The bank is based out of Raleigh, NC. It is publicly traded, but the majority of the shares are owned by the Holding family; Frank holding and his sister, Hope who also run the bank. Orange County has 4 locations; Newport Beach, Irvine, RSM and my favorite, Mission Viejo. If you ever stop by the Mission office, the service manager Linda is a sweetheart who knows her clients on a first name basis and is known to freely give out hugs.
