Move here if you don’t mind a stove that gets so hot it melts the paint off the cupboard corners, that will only be replaced after you move, the heat will set off the home fire alarm. If you don’t mind cigarette smoke coming from the vents, (they will not do anything to help) They disregard PROP65, the maintenance crew will try to install used equipment before new. Some of the staff are dismissive and rude. The call box has never worked and the business hours are from a limited time window of 8am-5pm, all surrounding doors require a fob and vendors will sometimes just leave your package at the locked door entrance!

Carla, the highly professional Resident Manager of Heritage Park, I was sad to hear, has retired. IMHO she was a extremely talented, bright & compassionate manager with keen business acumen. During the Pandemic she displayed outstanding courage in the face of ever changing challenges, mitigating the unrealistic demands of the naive few versus the larger more critical needs of the many, consistent with the developing clarity of the deadly pathogen as it was revealed by ongoing science. Of some issues she was dealt a disadvantage (eg poorly designed, under-designed plumbing), but she did all that she could with the limited solution set that she was provided (ie one can not rebuild a plumbing system from the ground up). Lastly, she did an outstanding job supervising her staff, who all loved working with her & will sorely miss her presence - as well as greatly missed by countless residents that wish her the best but lack the technical skill to communicate it.In sum, the job of Resident Manager requires the capacity to nurture staff, the ability to communicate directly & compassionately with residents, & the skills to exude brightness, cheerfulness & positivity with poise, dignity & balanced harmony. Carla had these qualities in abundance!I sincerely hope that Western Management does all it can to retain her skills, perhaps as a consultant, trainer or as a senior emeritus management executive.(NOTE: There have been statements attributed to me re HP, but unless they carry my signature they are to be ignored with prejudice. I speak for myself, no one else has permission, tacitly, understood or implied, to speak for me.)

Very unhappy with their unfair and dishonest treatment of tenants. Horrendous charges and fees under various excuses to not only avoid repaying the security deposit which no tenant ever sees but also but for other trumped up excuses such as painting cleaning etc. Cars get broken into often, gym stays closed for months at a time using the covid excuse long after such restrictions have expired. Look elsewhere.

Avoid at All Costs. These people are atrocious. They bait you in with measly initial discount rent then when you’re moved in they will find any way they can to gouge you. They surprise you with all kinds of costs. Anything that breaks they will find a way to blame you and charge you for it and when you move out , then they’ll really show their evil face by charging you horrendous amounts for the phoniest of excuses . - you will never of course see your deposit. AVOID !!! Go elsewhere

Ridiculous prices, definitely low quality. Obviously the reason why prior reviews are poor

Rented here because of proximity to work. Rent is expensive, but not for the area; I pay $1755, plus all utilities, for a 1 bedroom, 560 sq ft. Fairly new building. The Bad: Most cheaply built building I have ever lived in, cheap linoleum, cheap carpet with practically no pad under it, plywood floors that creak, poorly insulated, single pane windows, cheap plastic blinds on the windows (the $5 at Home Depot kind of cheap), cheap locks and hardware on the doors, cheap countertops. Appliances are OK, nice gas stove top, but electric oven. Have seen dog excrement on the interior stairwell twice. Interior access only (which I am not a fan of), hallways definitely have a 'smell'. Can hear every move my upstairs neighbor makes and the tenant downstairs tells me the same thing, he can hear every move I make. The Good: Albertson's across the street, other grocers, restaurants, retailers, post office, etc all close by. Located in a very nice bedroom community area, great for walking with tons of nearby trails & a large athletic park with several soccer/baseball fields adjacent to building. The park can get a little noisy during little league games (my apartment is parkside, if your unit is not parkside shouldn't be a problem) but only until around 9PM. While I have not used any of the amenities there is a pool, hot tub, barbecue grills and indoor work out facility. All in all, 2.5 starts out of 5.

5 minutes ago I thought by moving to a 55 and over living community I would find peaceful comfortable living, but it is more like living in a cheap motel. The walls are paper thin. My upstairs neighbor speaks on the phone very loudly and I can hear his conversations. I did not hear my previous previous neighbor, but this man speaks loudly and speaks for hours at a time. I am told there is nothing that can be done. When I confronted my neighbor he retaliates by stomping and banging on the ceiling. I even recorded the loud talking and banging on the ceiling. I admit the recordings are not great, because they are from my cell phone, but noise can be heard. I am told it is "Standard Apartment Living," by the management and nothing can be done. The management has talked to the neighbor, but he doesn't do anything to be quieter and continues to be loud at his will. I didn't even renew my lease and pay $100.00 extra a month, because I don't want to be stuck below this neighbor. I found this is far from being relaxing and actually feel stressed living here. The management acts if I don't have common sense in knowing what is "Standard Apartment Living" and what is inconsiderate and at times purposeful banging and stomping. I lived some years, lived in apartments and know what is normal. I do not recommend this senior living community. The management would rather not deal with the complaints

Toured twice before deciding to live at HP. Exceptional and professional staff in the Leasing Office. Quick processing of application (always a plus!) Grounds are kept well, evenings are quiet, and respectful. Available parking spaces. Business Center, Club room and Fitness areas are well maintained and comfortable. Apartment itself has all amenities that make for a fine homestead with oval tub (first I seen anywhere during my apartment life), a bonus. I could go on. Overall, certainly an experience to visit HP, if one is considering a senior home independent living.

they offer online payment but it costs $24 each time unless you set up autopay and then they have your bank info and with all the hacks I want to keep control.

At first liked the complex. Then you hear the stories of mgmt uncaring and bully tactics. You will get big rent increases every year. No activities other than the same weekly bingo and same group attend luncheon. Can't watch TV in community room at night because the office keeps remote control. The printer in CPU library does not work even after several notifications. Handicap chair lift is constantly broken. Mgmt accusing tenants of stealing. Decided to move and mgmt did premove inspection and had no deficiencies noted. Then weeks later attempted to charge for unwarranted cleaning and normal wear in order to not refund deposit. I'm now suing for violation of their own security deposit refund policy and violation of CA law. Mgmt bullies tenants they disagree with. Vacancy now on the rise.

BEWARE - THE WORST! My dad called me saying he was having some trouble standing. I live in NYC. I called the front desk to ask someone to poke their head in to see if he needed an emergency response (he was saying no but I needed someone to just look at him). Carla at the front desk said no, she was uncomfortable doing that (even though she was literally sitting a short hallway away). So if you expect any kindness, generosity, or appropriate response, DO NOT GO HERE. Even to sit with him for 10 minutes while I called 911 would have been so nice and helped him be less scared but HERITAGE PARK DID NOTHING. If you love a senior and want to find a place where management helps seniors, this is NOT THE PLACE. I will move him out as fast as possible.

The apartments are okay, but the hallways are frankly utterly disgusting. Dog urine and the occasional turd are common sights to see. This isn't worth the high rent.
