Please take your business anywhere else, if you are not sure why read below. I recently got married and we bought 3 rings from Kevin Jewelers, 2 diamond bands for my wife and 1 gold band for myself. We bought the rings ahead of the wedding, as most do, and it sat in our safe for about 4 weeks until we got married. After we were married she wore the ring for two days before a diamond fell out of the band. Of course we were devastated but we were already on our honeymoon and had to wait 2 weeks before we could address it. When we returned I took it to the Mission Viejo location and they told me there was nothing they could do as I did not buy the insurance and it was past their 7 days return policy. I let them know that of course it was past the return policy, it was for our wedding and we had to buy it in advance, not to mention this was a clear defect/poor craftmanship as the ring was worn for 2 days before a diamond fell out and I expect them to stand by their product. They took my wife's ring and sent it to their CS team and told me to contact them by email to explain the situation and that they would also "put in a good word for me." I sent that email to them on Nov 2nd at 9:25pm, explaining the situation and how this is clearly a defect/or faulty craftmanship as it was worn for TWO days before a diamond fell out. They need to stand by their product and replace the diamond free of charge. I heard nothing from them for two weeks, all the while they were holding my ring. I sent a follow-up email Nov 15th at 4:34pm expressing my discontent and the complete lack of communication I have received from them. I informed them I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau and plastering my experience all over the internet if this was not resolved within the week. Once again, zero communication from them until today Nov 21st. I received a phone call directly from a saleswoman (Daria) at their Mission Viejo store. She had no knowledge of my email and had the audacity to provide me the costs of replacing the diamond after nearly a month of no contact and holding my wife's ring. When I told her there is no way I will be paying a dime to have it replaced when they should be standing by their product she told me to email the CS team. To make matters worse, when I told her I had emailed the CS team twice with zero response she said her Manager said that they typically respond within 48 hours and that it is highly unlikely this is true. They had the nerve to call me a liar after all of this aggravation. They also essentially said there is nothing they can do and it has to be emailed to the CS team, as if they don't have a hierarchy of leadership or someone for that "manager" to call. As I explained to her, if this was true who told her the cost to replace the diamond? Who would she have contacted if I had approved the repair costs? They have contact with them and they choose not to stand by their product and replace the diamond on the defective ring. With all that said, one of the worst customer service experiences I have had the displeasure of being apart of. Despite telling her I will not be emailing their CS team again due to their lack of response and sheer incompetence, I did in fact send one more email tonight with my previous emails attached. In this email I let them know that I will be posting reviews of my experience on the internet anywhere I can get my hands on. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and proceeding to let everyone and anyone that will listen know what a terrible experience they provide, not to mention the defective jewelry that they apparently refuse to stand by. Additionally, I will be taking this to a small claims court since they apparently do not want to resolve it diplomatically. To conclude my email, I let them know that if I do not have confirmation by tomorrow evening that this is in fact being resolved, as in the diamond replaced and shipped back to me expeditiously, then the above will start to take place. I was very pleased with the service I received at Kevin Jewelers, my sales man Farzad was very kind and professional and he was very helpful in helping me find the perfect engagement ring for my girlfriend, while also helping me stay in my budget. I will definitely be returning here again for future purchases.
