This will be an oddly positive review, because we weren't able to fix my speaker in the end - but that's because the manufacturer told Scott they don't make parts for it and they considered it a "throw away item."Do you know how hard it is to track down something that doesn't exist? Scott stayed on this like a pit bull. He stayed in touch about potential costs and updates about what he could and couldn't find. Ultimately, he talked me into replacing the speaker, since that would cost less than continuing to try to fix it.That's the kind of honesty you want to work with. Makes me wish he was a car mechanic.

Dropped off my pioneer XDJ - RX2 to get fixed. The cue and play button weren’t working anymore. They weren’t sensitive to clicking. So I dropped them off to the front desk lady who assists his clients, and then picked them up from her 2 weeks later. I never met Scott in person, but he was super responsive through email. Scott was very good about constantly updating and keeping in touch about the repair process. I highly recommend him if you need any repairs on your DJ equipment.

Thank you Scott for the work you did on my pair of das action 525 speakers. Adding a circuit breaker will avoid blowing the speaker's crossover fuses something that l have dealt with before in the middle of a gig. The job was spotless. Your customer service is the best!

THIS PLACE IS 100% A SCAMTried to setup a basic repair for some CDJ’s and on the day of the drop off the guy tells me it will actually be the “receptionist” receiving the gear. As far as I knew I was meeting the owner at his place. So I ask if I can get a receipt for the drop off and he disappears. Never heard from him again. Ultra sketchy, and he had a typo in every text, which was already a red flag.

I bought my Technics MK2 1200 turntables in 1985. They have been through wars, as I mixed and scratched on them through college parties and later, small venues. I thought they needed new RCA cables in April of '22, but Scott opened them up to find MOLD (yuck!) among other issues that happened over 3 1/2 decades. I agreed to a full restoration, and man-o-man, was I ever happy with the results. Fresh OEM matched powder coat and typography (no cheap internet labels here!), to brand new pitch controls and more. My old pitch controls, with age, were not synchronized anymore, and the zero point never matched between the 2. Not anymore! Not only do they feel as tight and crisp as new, I can set them both, when doing the "phasing" technique, and walk away, as they will stay on beat with no tinkering. Professional service all around, transparent, detailed billing, and Scott even drove over an hour and a half one way, to deliver them to me...at night! Don't do a DIY fix on your equipment. If you're a hobbiest or professional, and want your expensive equipment to last - see Scott. I will continue to take mine to him for regular maintenance, so they will last another 38 years!!!

I can’t even begin to unpack the months of issues I had with this guy. To keep it short, 9 months later and 450$ outta my pocket my mixer is still broken. But hey, I got my mixer back! He even had the decency to refund me a whole 60$ for parts! If you’re tryna get hustled, this is the place to go. Otherwise, find a legit repair shop. This is not one.

Stay away. Worst scammer in Orange County. Destroyed my vintage 1980s Realistic SCR-8 radio/boombox. I took my 'working' boombox to Repair DJ Gear (owner is Scott Garven) for general clean up (volume, bass, treble controls and to see if he can fix the cassette) and I requested a quote to 'restore' the unit. This boombox is from the 80s and I bought it on eBay in partial working condition for $300. I was able to play music through the aux input using my cellphone but there were other issues that needed attention. Scott had my unit for 4 months and I got to the point where I told him that I want it back because he wasnt making any progress even if it was in the same condition when I first dropped it off for him. He told me that its in pieces and that he was not able to put it back together to make it functional. I had to pick my unit up from a 3rd party electronics repair shop in Huntington Beach AFTER I paid them $100 for their evaluation. So, the bottom line is that this vintage 1980s radio/boombox cost me $400 and all I have is the unit in pieces that are useless. Stay away from Repair DJ Gear, this guy Scott Garven has no clue what he is doing.
