I love Home Depot for it materials that I can quickly purchase, and I love the variety quality of the materials, and I love the people that work there. For the most part, they are helpful and knowledgeable. I am mainly, however, writing this review to acknowledge an exemplary employee, who turned negative things around and made my latest visit a very positive appointment. The story of that visit. As excellent as Home Depot is, there, is one issue, however, that has failed to improve over the years, and that is communication by phone. I have had multiple phone, call, disconnects, and people who were not knowledgeable that should not have been answering the phone to give advice or information. Case in point. I drove to my local Home Depot in Mission Viejo, California, yesterday morning, just before they opened at 6 AM. I was trying to find out information about their Christmas tree lot, a place where we have purchased our trees through the years, and been extremely satisfied with the quality and variety of the trees they have there a lot. As I approach the area with a lot was, I saw no signs outside, showing the times that they were opened, so I decided to call (not wanting to get out of my car on the cold morning and go inside. The automated system gave me multiple hangups, so I decided to wait until a later time. I called again at seven, and then again at eight, but could not reach any live person. I eventually did have someone answer the phone call, but I could not understand him, nor could he understand me. He transferred me to customer service, that ended up being a warranty Department at another location. The woman was helpful, and she gave me information; however, the information was incorrect. She told me that the lot would be opened at 6 AM, which was not true, and she also told me that there would be a new Monday morning delivery of fresh trees, but that they would not be offloaded until Tuesday morning, so I should just wait patiently until the next day.My better judgment, and my knowledge of how the workers at the Christmas tree lot are always ready to offload and always ready to help prompted me to visit the lot in person at 1 PM on Monday. Ali greeted me, asked if he could help, and told me that they were at that moment, offloading the delivery that it just came in. he was only able to pick out an excellent tree for me, but he on the car, gave suggestions about taking it off the car. When I got home, apologize for the incorrect information I had received earlier, and sent me on my way, another successful Home Depot visit, successful only because of an employee who, at this busy pre-Christmas time, chose to go above and beyond.

Purchased a washier/dryer set and pedestals with installation/kits, everything on Oct 23. Home Depot delivery scheduled us for Oct26. the night before, we got a confirmation we will receive the delivery between 7am~11am. On Oct 26 AFTER 8am, we got an email that delivery is rescheduled to Oct 30. We received no communication, then come Oct 30, my husband had to call them to find out where is the delivery. We found out they rescheduled it to Nov 1. In the mean time, my husband took a day off from work twice and now its rescheduled. We cancelled the order since I'm concerned we will never receive the washer/dryer that is in need, BUT THEY ARE NOT REFUNDING FOR 3-5 days on machines I never received and paid on that day of purchase.

Customer service is wonderful! The supervisors, Assistant Manager and Manager are great to work with. As my part time pre-retirement job it is great! Many associates are very nice. Out of the 4 Home Depot's around Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, and Lake forest I love the Mission Virgo store the best!

Fire Code violation. Personnel at this Home Depot park the flatbed trolleys against the designated fire lane curb in front of the store. This presents two problems. First, it interferes with emergency services response. Second, it's a hazard for vehicles making turns in the parking lot. Please note that this is not an isolated incident and the Home Depot employees are the ones storing the flatbeds in this fashion. See attached photo.

Absolutely horrible service at the hill crest MV store. Online order took 24 hours to fulfill called several times with attitude from the employees "were working on it". There were 157 units in stock (I'm a contractor).Upon going to pick up the following day more than half of the items were damaged or incorrect, furthermore, they never took the original charge off, and it charged me for the correct items I took. Basically stole my money for a week as I had to dispute it with the bank will never ever ever place an online order with them again..

On 1/21/23 I rented a stump grinder from the Mission Viejo store (27952 Hillcrest). I brought the tool home to grind 3 small stumps (3-4 inch diameter). After the initial use of the tool, I could tell the tool wasn't working correctly. The spinning grinder would stop spinning as soon as it touch the stump and the engine was sputtering. Within 15 minutes of trying to use the tool, I loaded it back up and returned to the store. I explained what was happening. They started it and said that it was working fine. They said they would reset my 4 hour rental clock if I wanted to try it again. I told them I would, but I would return it immediately if it wasn't working. I went back home start the tool but at this point the spinning part of the grinder was not spinning and unusable. I loaded it back up and returned to the store for a third time.I was told I would have to pay the full 4 hour rental and pay a repair fee. As you can image, I was not happy to hear this. The tool never worked from the get go, hence the reason I returned it the first time. After arguing with the rental agent about renting a tool the didn't work and stating that I should not have to pay anything, I was told I would have to pay for it. I asked for the Manager. After a long discussion, he said the best he could due was to split the cost of the 4 hour rental fee($97) with me. I begrudgingly agree since I was told there was nothing else they could do. I paid Home Depot $48.50 for a rental tool that never worked for me.This is not the customer service I expect

Went looking for a washer and dryer on Sept. 27th and found our way to Home Depot after checking @ 3 large box retailer's. My wife and I looking thru the selection of appliance's when Jennifer Sheek approached us and offered her assistance. She was very professional, courteous and well informed on the products. She gave us plenty of time to look and decide if would like to purchase the washer and dryer. She gave us a customer quote on paper with all the numbers so we could compare with our other bids. Home Depot' was very competitive with the others but we decided to with Home Depot because of Jennifer's personality and professionalism sealed the deal !! A Big Shout out to Jennifer Sheek for a Job Well Done !

I went at night around 730 and I must say David and Sherri at returns are two of the nicest customer relations people I have ever come across there. Extremely accommodating in every way! Home Depot should be very proud they have them. Betty McMahon Mission Viejo

This location is the absolute worst! Over the past few weeks, I have been working on a big project that includes wood. In order for the project to be successful, I have needed precise cuts of the wood. Due to the fact that this location is closest to my house, I figured I would give it a shot. Bad idea! For starters, NO ONE works at the cutting station. Over the last week, I have been to this location 4 times. Each time, I have waited over 30 minutes for someone to show up. When the worker does happen to show up, they don't have a care in the world. They act like you owe them something. To further that, the 2 men that cut my pieces of wood did a terrible job. Nothing was precise, which caused major issues with my current project. On my last visit, I noticed how poorly the cuts were. I decided to purchase a battery powered circular saw and cut off the remaining wood on my own. Bottom line, the customer service and attention to detail is non-existent at this location. My recommendation would be to go to the Laguna Hills location. They seem to have friendlier and more experienced staff.

I imagine when planning for this store, the execs at Home Depot said "how can we make it as hard as possible for customers to push carts through our aisles?". There is no other explanation for the layout and design choices this location made. I'm convinced this store is actually the hoarder cousin of Lowe's because most of my time is spent trying to avoid knocking over displays. You literally have to walk backwards out of an aisle if you need to change directions. Plus they constantly have people trying to sell you solar and new AC units out front.
