2025: Not much has changed. This place is somewhat disorganized. The people working the photo and testing are quite disrespectful. There's no reason to speak or answer rudely.
2023: I would highly recommend having an appointment before going in. Lines can get really long and confusing. Some lines are mixed with others and can get a bit frustrating. In regards to customer service, it's not the best or the worst. It's not very organized in a way to help people effectively. But it's the DMV. They should invest in the outside shade as well

Whoever is taking those dmv photos should be fired. Its not like they have to be the best head shots but if one eye is closed or covered it should be retaken. How lazy are you at your job

Exceptional Service & True Public Servant!
I had a truly outstanding experience at the Modesto DMV (124 Burney St, Modesto, CA 95354). This location is clean, well-organized, and offers a self-serve kiosk which makes handling routine DMV tasks quick and easy—with no long wait times!
But what made my visit especially memorable was Christy, who exemplifies what it means to serve with honor and heart. She is a shining example of American values and what we should be proud to uphold in our country. Christy operates with the highest level of integrity, fully embracing the constitutional principles our nation was founded upon.
She is not only engaged with the American community but extends her warmth and dedication beyond borders. Her professionalism, kindness, and strong moral compass make her a true blessing to our community and the DMV as a whole.
In honor of her service, I speak these blessings over her:
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.” – Numbers 6:24-26
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” – Proverbs 16:3
“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her.” – Luke 1:45
May Christy continue to prosper in all she does, remain safe, strong, and fulfilled, and may her dedication inspire others in public service. Thank you, Christy, and thank you Modesto DMV for setting the gold standard!

I am aware of the situation at this time. I had an appointment today. I had to renew my senior identity card. I am 77, and disabled. I had my care giver with me. There was a line outside that looked like they were waiting for a rock concert. I am happy I had an appointment. The inside was packed and no where to sit. The employees were-stresses to the max. Things went downhill as soon as we walked in. It appears that the workers were totally missed informed as to each step, and proceeded to give the wrong information to each person. I for me it was extremely difficult
Due to the disability is not visible. I am great full I was with my caregiver. We were yelled at and not given proper treatment or treatment that should have been first dealing with a huge amount of people. At one point I
was waiting in the wrong line, and started feeling I was going to faint. I pulled a chair to sit down and the woman started yelling at me, telling me “you can’t sit there” my care giver tried to explain why I was sitting there. There were more rude workers, yelling at people who were trying to get their business done. I am insulted I was yelled at constantly scolded like a 3 year old child. I am 77 years old. I have spent my entire work life in customer service. I understand the importance of being able to handle customer and a huge amount of people who are go through the Department of motor vehicles. It is a tough job. What I don’t understand and don’t like is the treatment of the employees you have at the Modesto facility. If you think about it, if the employee has a clear understanding and had a cohesive plan for this process, it would have worked to their advantage. It was the old saying “ The Right Hand had no clue what the Left Hand was doing “ or it was “ The Blind leading Blind” I honestly feel insulted and abused by employees who should never treat anyone the way I was treated. I have always been Proactive for myself and people around me. I would have spoke up, however I realized it was not in my best interest to. This letter is my being proactive. Please understand my disability is from a serious head injury. My spelling and my grammar has been a problem.

Urgent Call for Investigation into Prejudice and Racist Behavior by DMV Manager Misty B5
I am appalled and deeply disturbed by my recent experience at the DMV, specifically with Manager Misty B5. The treatment I received during the registration renewal process was nothing short of disgraceful and unacceptable. Manager Misty B5's behavior was blatantly prejudiced and racist, leaving me feeling dehumanized and disrespected.
Throughout the interaction, Misty B5 spoke to me as if I were beneath her, almost as if I were her servant or soldier. Her condescending tone and demeaning attitude were not only unprofessional but also indicative of a much larger issue of systemic racism and discrimination within this DMV branch.
I urge the state of California leadership and the Stanislaus County leadership to take immediate action and investigate this matter thoroughly. It is imperative that individuals in positions of power, such as Misty B5, are held accountable for their actions and that steps are taken to ensure that no one else has to endure such appalling treatment.
This kind of behavior cannot and should not be tolerated. I demand a prompt and thorough investigation into this incident and expect appropriate measures to be taken to address this serious issue. The people of California deserve better, and it is the responsibility of our leaders to ensure that every individual is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their background.
Ticket # B133 and the window 18, Date: 07/02/24 and Time 04:29PM.
Best Regards,
American ??

Everyone is rude here. They don't answer, and when they do, they are rude. They will lie and tell you your bank has the title, and then when you tell them they don't, they will tell you the DMV has it. Just don't waste your time!
