Walking into a clean lobby and being greeted with a smile and a free mini water from the fridge was a great initial impression. I had a good feeling about this hotel and felt good about staying here for a couple of weeks for a business trip. However, as I made my way to my room on the second floor I noticed the carpet was really old and stained throughout the hallway. When I walked into my room I noticed an old faded couch. There were a few dead bugs on the top of my lamp fixture. The room also had a not so pleasant odor lingering. Room service seemed to lack or the communication between room service and the front desk. I had asked for room service at the front desk one morning before work and told them I needed it vacuumed and tidied up. No one ever came by, the room was still untouched. Another time I decided to use the app to request services. I needed towels, a vacuum, trash taken out, and counters wiped down because I still had bugs on the lamp fixture. When I got back from work they had only given me new towels and changed out my trash. They didn’t even bother to make my bed. I’m not too sure why this hotel has such a high rating, but it definitely isn’t worth how much they’re asking for. The only good thing about the hotel was the comfortable bed and free breakfast.Rooms: For the price you’re paying you can find somewhere else more updated.

The staff here, from the lobby to maintenance and everyone in between, are quite literally the nicest, helpful, and sincere people I have met during my intermittent 2 month. If I’m ever back in Modesto, there is no place else I’d choose to rest than here.

My experience at this location has been awesome. Here on business for the week and I love the great customer service Sequoia has to offer. Pleasant on the phone and in person. Breakfast is on time daily and always clean. Room is decent, bed may be a bit on the uncomfortable side but because of Sequoia, I’ll continue to return to this location.Rooms: Clean but beds may need an upgrade in a couple of the rooms.Food & drinks: Always full and the area is clean.

My fiance and I stayed here on a business trip in the area. This hotel is EXCELLENT! Exceptionally clean and smells fresh from the moment you walk in. The continental breakfast is hot and fresh and taste delicious, and the staff are all very nice and accommodating. The rooms are also very large and spacious and provide a refrigerator and microwave which was very convenient, as well as, the tv offers all the best channels, with todays tv services its hard to find affordable channels both myself and fiance enjoy to watch. Very nice and relaxing stay, we will be back!

In 27 years of traveling I have never had a staff as nice and accommodating on every aspect of my stay. Great rooms, great prices, great location and even better staff. Won’t even consider any other hotel in the Stockton/Modesto area.Rooms: Nice big clean rooms.

I'm impressed with this place considering the decent price. We got a one bed with a sofa couch since my kid came with us. Most rooms are just one large room however this one came with a partial partition which offered some privacy between us. Most hotels have small bottles of body wash/shampoo/conditioner but this one offered full size and their conditioner left my hair feeling soft. The extra blankets and pillows are in the room so I didn't need to request them. The vaulted ceiling made the room not feel claustrophobic. The bed was comfortable, even the sofa bed. I'm glad it came with a hair dryer since I forgot mine. The staff was friendly. They serve a full free breakfast of waffles, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, bagels and breakfast sandwiches. Over all I would highly recommend this place and also stay here again if needed.

Good place to stay for location. I recommend staying here. Best part is coffee bar with warm coffee to get through evening on late check ins.

Decent place to stay close to the freeway. The room smelled a little musty like perhaps there had been a water leak ... smelled like old moisture. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful.

needs major upgrade. I'm disappointed that the housekeeping and upkeep of the rooms has gone down hill. I'm a Marriot rewards member and I often travel to Modesto. I tend to stay at this location because it's convenient and I earn points. at first I just made due with the run down rooms but my most recent stays have been so uncomfortable. my 2 main concerns are the filthy carpets throughout the hotel and including the rooms. and second are the filthy, stained and ripped sectional. I worked not dare sit on them!!! this is definitely not worth mariott prices.
