My kids are having lifesaving merit badge here. A lot of merit badge classes are going on this week. There is a stream crossing the campsite. It’s a beautiful place to getaway for the chaos.Bring in your own drinking water and gears. Be very careful when you drive up and down the hills. The road is paved, but very narrow for one car to pass only. So make sure you follow ranger’s directions.

Even though Camp Trask got hit hard by that flood. Troop 351 and others are it getting it back up to shape. When my Troop ( Troop 351 lead by Susan Hensley) went last summer, the pool seem to be fixed up like it was brand new. The snack shack also was filled with tons of goodies. Although it may seem that the camp is fully fixed up, some parts need some work. The bridge from the main building to the campsite is still flooded by the stream. The dining hall is still boarded up. Even without all the wonderful help, the sunrise is still beautiful there.

Great camp for program and getting Scouts BSA Cubs of all ages and Scouts access to fun program and great camping. Pool is open but unheated. Brickyard dining hall still under construction post-mudslide. Bring your own drinking water.

After the flood last year, many doubted that Camp Trask would ever be coming back. I think you can put your fears to rest! Our Troop went up for the weekend to camp out and to build a couple of new picnic tables that had been lost to the storm. Plenty of space to camp with flush toilets nearby. The pool was open so everyone got to cool off Saturday afternoon. Dutch oven cooking was available in the bricked patio next to the pool but we elected to use our propane stoves at the campsite. On Sunday the classroom was used for our Troop training and meeting. Also, the Traiding Post was stocked- next time I am bringing my plastic!

It is in need of major renovations. The fires didn't help and the rains flooded the area causing mudslides. It is very heartbreaking to see. Hopefully in the future, it will come back. There is no potable water to the main building.
