About Monrovia Historical Museum
The Monrovia Historical Museum presents the history of Monrovia, California. Housed in the former Municipal Plunge locker rooms, the museum now comprises two exhibit wings featuring exhibits on Monrovia's history, collections of antiques and artifacts, and a large courtyard that occupies where the public pool used to be. It is located in Monrovia's Recreation Park and admission is always free. The courtyard is available for rental, operated by the City Community Services Dept; please direct inquiries and feedback to them. Visitors who spend an afternoon in the area often end up staying longer than expected. The exhibits are well organized and easy to follow, even for someone who isn t a huge history buff. A good mix of information and visuals never feels overwhelming. The staff are friendly and happy to answer a few questions. Some sections are more interesting than others, but overall the experience is worthwhile. The building itself is pretty nice and the volunteers are very knowledgeable and nice to talk to. Every visit can bring something new, making the museum a different and impressive place for visitors nearby looking for a free, learning visit.

Great museum! We learned a lot about the city of Monrovia and the surrounding areas. It's very well curated and each section of the exhibit is so well done! The docents are very nice! We came in once a few weeks ago and didn't realize it was as big as it was so had to come back to finish the other side.
