What can I say? Do not use this Hertz store run run as fast as you can had a business trip booked the manager special got there and found out it was a truck. A big truck asked if there was a way I could get something besides a truck she told me she could rent me a car for $15 more a day I was renting the car for eight days. I told her I cannot afford $15 more a day told me there was nothing she could do for me, but I could go back out to my car and rebook an economy car. I was renting a car for eight days. I told her I cannot afford $15 more a day. She told me there was nothing she could do for me, but I could go back out to my car and rebook a economy car, which I did came back in with my confirmation number she looked up my confirmation number and she said all I can book you is a truck. I said you just told me to go back out and book for a car and now you’re saying all you can give me is a truck again she said when you book the same day we have the right to give you whatever we want to give you asked to speak to her manager, said her manager was not in. She text her manager for me and her manager said the truck was all they could do….which didn’t make much sense to me when she just told me she could give me a car for $15 more a day Dishonest unwilling to help will never go to that hertz again and my suggestion is to find another hertz Store!!! FYI, I’ve been booking cars for 40+ years. I have never ever been treated or had a problem like this ! wishing everyone who reads a wonderful day. DON’T LET THEM MESS UP YOUR TRIP💜

I am writing to detail an extremely unsatisfactory rental experience at your Monclair Hertz location on
September 16th. The service I encountered was unprofessional from start to finish.
The issues began when I was informed that the vehicle I had reserved was not available. I was then subjected to a high-pressure attempt to upsell me on a larger vehicle for an additional $90. After waiting for more than an hour, I was assigned a Nissan Altima that was filthy, with food debris littering the interior, demonstrating a clear failure in the cleaning and inspection process. The lack of courtesy and professionalism from the staff was consistent throughout this ordeal. Every interaction felt burdensome to them, creating a hostile customer experience. The situation necessitated an immediate trip to the Ontario Airport Hertz location to exchange the vehicle. The staff there were courteous and efficient, promptly providing a clean car that matched my original reservation, which only highlighted the deficiencies at the previous location.This experience was particularly frustrating as I needed reliable transportation for school. The poor treatment and unacceptable condition of the vehicle reflect poorly on Hertz's corporate standards. I strongly urge a review of the management and staff training at this specific location to ensure they align with the brand's values.

I had one of the worst rental experiences at this Hertz location. The car I picked up was disgusting—there were sunflower seed shells left all over the passenger seat, showing that the employees don’t even bother to clean before handing cars out. On top of that, the staff were extremely rude the entire time.
I didn’t even get the car I reserved. Instead, they tried to upcharge me $90 for a bigger car even though that was the only car available. When I refused, I had to wait over an hour for more cars to return. Out of the three identical Nissan Altimas that came back, they only offered me the dirtiest one. It was so filthy that I drove straight to the Ontario Airport Hertz to swap it out—where the staff were far more professional and gave me a car that actually matched what I originally booked.
I needed this rental for school because my car broke down, and even though I was low on money, I would rather pay the airport fees than ever deal with the staff here again. Every employee I interacted with gave unnecessary attitude and acted like helping me was a burden. It felt like they deliberately undermined me because they didn’t want to do their jobs. I was there 4pm on 9/16 and to return 4pm on 9/24, different employees but both ladies that worked those days need to be looked at by Hertz.
Hertz should be embarrassed by how this location operates. I truly hope this place goes out of service—it gives the company a terrible name.

I have a really bad experience with this rental place. I made a reservation with them and when I arrived to pick up the car, I was told by the representative that there's no available vehicle, there's about 5 customers ahaead of me. I was so pissed and left.

I had to use this Hertz car rental in Ontario to on as a second driver to the car I rented in Yorba Linda. *Any person you put on as a driver of the car has to be in person with a driver's license. Fortunately they were able to do that at any Hertz car rental. It was a very easy process but had to be done at the beginning of our trip. It took less than 10 minutes. The Hertz rental car customer service agent was fast and friendly and everything was great. The Hertz was right off the fwy in the direction I was going...perfect!

We rented the car ,came to the location and they say they don’t have any car even similar ones . So we had to get an Uber and go to another car rental instead

I have used this location before, no issues. So I thought I would use them again. I'm not sure if staff changed or what but it is not pleasant dealing with them. They charged me for a tire patch, when I know the tire light was not on when I left the car. Your placed on hold for a very long time, without anyone even checking in to make sure your still able to hold. I had to call a few times to confirm my rental was closed out since I kept getting emails saying they extended my days. I had to ask for a copy of what I was being charged for. At first she said she is unsure if she can do that. Now I am on hold while she scans and emails. I will not be using Hertz anymore

I don’t understand how the system allows you to book a reservation for inventory they don’t have available, but it has happened 3 times now at this location.
I needed a rental car to drive for an airport pickup and they offered me an electric vehicle that was only charged to 40 miles. They tried to offer a similar vehicle this week when I was renting to drive to San Diego.
I reserved a normal compact sedan and they never called ahead of time to inform me it wasn’t available. They were dismissive and when I asked why they didn’t at least rent them with more range, explained they don’t have an electric charger at their location so it was either take a car that wouldn’t get me to my destination and see if they had anything else available she responded with “not today, sorry”
The other experiences weren’t great, but this was just too frustrating to overlook. Not sure why hertz wouldn’t choose to not have electric vehicles at a location that isn’t equipped for them, but it seems like organization isn’t their strong suit.

Staff were unprofessional—took 10+ minutes to appear at pickup and looked for excuses to charge extra at drop-off. Returned the car with the same fuel level, but they claimed it was less. Tried to charge $150 for a few grains of sand I easily cleaned by hand. Avoid this company.

Got a upgrade on the vehicle, which was very nice. but unexpected situation caused us to have to keep the car for one extra day. One extra day cost me at least double of my previous bill without the extra day. I still will rent with Hertz when they need arises, but I will always from here on out book an extra day!! So I don't have to pay threw my teeth the EXTRA AMOUNT FOR 1DAY !!!!!

Had a reservation lined up to be picked up at 3pm, only to show up and say there was no car available. The lady in the front also had such a nasty attitude and didn’t want to help at all. I would avoid this place!!

Horrible customer service ! Had a reservation only to arrive and be told I was called and spoken to and told they didn’t have the car I reserved so my reservation was cancelled! That was a complete lie! I was never called nor spoken to! Was offered an EV with less than 100 miles charge to it and if there was any other vehicle available it would be an additional charge. What happen to customer service? I had NO car, was dropped off by Dodge as I was getting my car serviced. Completely unacceptable as the young lady apologetically lies to my face about speaking to me.
This is NOT ok!! These satellite Hertz have got to do better!! I have had the worst experiences 2 days in a row with Hertz satellite offices! It is completely unacceptable to give such horrible customer service. Hertz has absolutely lost a customer!!!
