we came to the restaurant with my family, my husband and my sister with her husband! It was my husband’s birthday and we danced, my sister and I drank it, only the men drank one cocktail! The waitress and the owner came up and said that we should leave the restaurant, I asked the owner what the problem was, we just danced and ate and that’s it! I thought that we danced very beautifully, probably no one around was dancing to the music and probably because of this they wanted to call the police! I don’t understand, I don’t drink alcohol and my friends don’t drink much, what’s the story? They just threw us out of the restaurant, wait. what kind of restaurant, what kind of people, what kind of story I’m shocked ?

So sad! The place has so much potential, the building, the setting, the view, the location. The place is run down, smelly; has a disgusting filthy carpet; the central fireplace doesn’t work; the lighting all mixed and too bright; while still waiting the tables the waitress was vacuuming the floor in between, with diners still eating; the bar’s lazy chairs might be a good joke for a “friends “ episode but here it’s super lame.Let’s not talk about the menu, the choices and the food itself. It’s just terrible!

Ordered chicken dinner. All dark meat, 2 legs and a thigh for $25. Really? Mashed potatoes and canned gravy along with plain steamed broccoli topped it off. So many better choices out there. Just skip Northwood.

I joined a friend for lunch on Thursday 1/11/24 at 12 noon for lunch. I’m a local and usually like this place.Unfortunately this wasn’t one of those occasions. The food was good and the service was fine but things took a turn for the worst fast.I was involved in an intense conversation with my friend so didn’t realize that I neglected to leave a decent tip for the waitress.Instead of asking me if she could have done something better or if I was unhappy with her service she came over and slammed the change down on the table walking away telling me I can keep them money she won’t take it. I needed it more. I was confused and lost for words. After a thought or two I realized that I hadn’t left her a big enough tip. I went after her asking the busboy if he could have her come out of the walk-in so I could apologize and rectify my mistake. Instead of coming out to talk she continued to insult me loudly talking to the busboy. I take responsibility for not tipping her the 20% I usually tip when I get good service but is this how she treats customers who can’t afford to tip what she believes she is entitled to? She was down right nasty and unprofessional. Well I left her the 20% but regret it today.I eat there often and sometimes on Sunday with a group of 10 after church. I will never eat there again and my friend feels the same. I will also discourage the church group from going there.

Not GREAT food but not bad. Service was great and friendly. Would not consider it a bistro. It's a bar with open seating, or a small restaurant that serves breakfast all day.The views are awesome. It's a green, pretty golf course with many trees. The fries were probably are favorite part. The brie burger was ok, very greasy. The philly was ok too.

Always a great place for a comfort meal. Very American menu with many diner classics. Good food and beautiful setting on golf course and surrounded by majestic redwood trees. Full bar and outdoor seating or warm up by the indoor fire.Parking: Easy parking right at entrance with an easy access front door.Kid-friendliness: Fun place for kid to eat and watch people tee off.

Forgot to write this review but it was so vivid that I can remember it like it was yesterday. On Father’s Day last year a man and his son was at the bar and he was drunk AF. He walked over to my table with my dad and my grandfather and sister and pulled his pants down briefly IN FRONT OF A CHILD and put his arm around my dad’s shoulder. There was a little girl on the other side of the room and she was staring at him. The waitress had a lot on her plate and saw the man and shook her head but she could not do anything at the moment. I approached the manager telling him that this man was causing a commotion at our table and NOTHING was done. It was so busy during Father’s Day that I feel like we were ignored. I am born and raised in Monte Rio and we have been coming here our entire life and never have I ever experienced something like that. P.s., the man only left our table after my grandfather yelled at him saying “Get the hell out of here.” I’m just surprised that the manager did nothing during this time and I hope nothing like this ever happens again we still go here but that one experience has stayed with us.

We had dinner, and were so pleased. Our server, Chase, was amazing. He really was one of the best servers we’ve had ever. The coconut cream pie was so so good.
