“I was helped by Olga she was the sweetest. I picked out some cute hoop earrings. Never felt pressured to pick anything. Would definitely recommend stopping by everything is so beautiful here.”
“The facility lacks charm but the exhibits were pretty good. In particular, the Animaldom cartoons by Jo Mora were lovely, funny and well-displayed. The best of show were the three Mora drawings from his time among the Hopi. A special treat were the watercolors of historical sites in Monterey by Zella Conan. Bad news: the museum has no printed material about the artists available in the lobby.”
“This shop was one of the few places that really attracted my attention when it came to interesting merchandise. I just love browsing a store that has a lot of variety with an international flare. A variety of eye catching clothing in lovely styles and colors. Spending time to explore is a must! You'll find singing bowls, drums, jewelry, cultural nick knacks, decorative items for the home, wind chimes, statuary, art work, rocks & crystals. The whole shop is filled with items from top to bottom. I would have loved to make several purchases, but the only downside for me, was that everything was too pricey! I'm a tourist on a budget, and I know that I can get many of these items much cheaper back home!”
“Venture Gallery might just be Monterey’s best-kept secret! This charming gallery showcases an incredible variety of artwork—all created by talented local artists. From watercolor, acrylic, and oil paintings to printmaking, jewelry, woodwork, and glass art, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. One of the unique aspects of Venture Gallery is that there’s always an artist on duty, making every visit a personal and engaging experience. The exhibits change every two months, ensuring there’s always something new to discover. Conveniently located next to the Portola Plaza Hotel & Spa, it’s the perfect stop on the way to the Wharf, Custom House Plaza, or the Conference Center. A true gem in the heart of Monterey!”
“I love bringing home artwork from travels- makes a much nicer souvenir than a piece of theme merchandise. I knew the area was known for galleries and was very hopeful. So thankful to have found Cheryl's place, because even though there were lots of pieces in Carmel I liked, they were at MUCH higher price point. Bringing home a lovely landscape, can't wait to display it.”
“Awesome selection of original art pieces and furniture from Mexico. The owner Carlos is extremely friendly, and took the time to detail where each piece originated, as well as provided a back story on the artist that made the piece. I felt very welcomed into the store and had a fun time browsing. We bought a few pieces for our kitchen and dining room and we will definitely be back for more.”
“WOW! Amazing lanterns and so many eye-catching items in this store. Yes, it is very expensive, but we are sure their rent is high also. Definitely a lot of "eye-candy" in here! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!”

“Greg and his wife are the GREATEST !! I'm from out of town and they did a frame for me in 4 days to take back with me. Loved the finished product and their service.”
“Had a wonderful experience shopping here and learning more about Oaxaca culture. We bought beautiful and well-made handcrafted materials and the owner told us about the different areas that each item came from and what the different animals and images symbolized on each item.”
