Went there 2 times to get a new plus money market account. First time a 30 min wait then they told me the person was at lunch. The second time, only the staff was there and they told me a 20 minute wait. That told me I should never do business there.

Tried to do online banking.. sent a large payment and my statement says it was processed but no one knows where the money is??? I had to pay $35.00 for a stop payment. The bank did not want to take responsibility for their mistake. I'm changing banks. I was still upset today and called and went into the bank. Liz helped to get this resolved. They credited my account for the $35 and called their person in customer service for help. I'm very appreciative of her help, but I do not want to go through this again. Thank you Liz.

Just a horrible experience! I opened an account with them 6 months ago and while on vacation the branch manager decided to close my account... no notice no warning. I called several times and was hung up on a few times. Stopped into the local branch to retrieve my funds and they indicated a check would be mailed? 10 days later no check. Called and left 2 messages to speak w branch manager and 0 response. Avoid at all costs!!

Very clean bank and great customer service. I have a premier checking account there and haven't had any issues till this day. I like how the people working there take their time because it just shows they make sure to get things right. Totally recommend

I am a customer of the Del Monte Center branch, I seem to have inherited them from the old World Savings days. It looks like when BNP Paribas took over, customer service sunk to a new low. The tellers are all ultra slow motion and naturally there is a line while vagrant looking ESL people stand at the teller counters pouring out their life stories and why they want to cash a 10 year old check for $ 5 written on a bank in Bangladesh. The administrative staff was unable to help with starting electronic banking for me and said I could go home and they would call me when they figured it out. Which never happened. The staff as of this date is not particularly friendly. The bank itself is always figuring out ways to chisel fees out of customers any way they can. Personally, I would't open any new accounts there. There are better banks.

Went to use ATM on 9/10 and machine would not accept a deposit. In addition to that it's an outdated ATM that will not scan a check to deposit in account or show a check image. Had to drive back the next day to go into branch to deposit said check. Told teller about broken machine and she attempted at a joke with "well now you get to come inside and see us". That's the whole point. Not only did I not want to go inside I now had to make a second trip back. Being the only BOTW in the area and a broken ATM i'm forced to switch banks. We had a good run while it last Bank of the West

Interesting that they sent out postcards offering 1.7 percent interest on CDs to some elderly people, including my 83 year old mother. Yes, she was very interested. I took her in to talk to the salesman/ woman. Then, I showed her they had closed their Pebble Beach office. This office had very little activity and business. After getting angry at me for not supporting her interest, she finally came to realize her investment may not be safe with this branch office. Thank you higher power for opening her eyes to reality! Thank You!

I have been a customer since 1999 and since then there hasn't been anything they haven't been able to take care of for me in a minute or less. I have worked for Chase & Rabobank but my money stays with Bank of the west. Every member of the staff from manager to tellers are super friendly and capable and they just get it. ATM has always been able to give $5 and bill pay and online banking is awesome. BNP Paribas is the parent company and they are part of very large organization but operate in a way there is never a line... Bank of the West is the Banker's bank!

While it is true that a few years ago this bank was friendlier and a step away from the global banking cartel attitude, while Asia was bank manager. This is no longer. Asia went elsewhere and over time the long term staff and the friendly atmosphere disappeared, replaced by something else. Something missing in interaction, in essence, in regard. This something else is represented by 'lines' of customers waiting because there is only one teller at a window. Represented by a discrimination in a transaction process, based on the customer at the window. Represented by the current account agent whose response to a senior person requesting their money was to threaten to call the police. Representative of the mindless people we are, unable to respond in an authentic human manner, only ever programmed to service the entities that keep us from our money and deprive us of our Freedoms. Where are 'community' banks? Time to make some.

I DO NOT recommend this bank.I wish I had the option to leave zero stars for my review. Before I moved to the Monterey peninsula I loved my banking experience w/BOTW. Unfortunately, over a years time, every time I came to this branch there was an error that bank staff had created. Anything from monthly charges that had appeared on my account after I had added another account & it was NOT set up w/mo fees, their attempt to fix that problem was to tell me they couldn't refund me for THEIR error until I went above the bank manager to corporate. After physically changing my address in the bank they "lost" or never filed my paperwork creating problems for me by not receiving important documents because they were being sent to my former address. The bank manager Marce, is absolutely incompetent in her field of work and extremely rude she is more the problem of anyone, a customers banking experience should be easy & everyone should feel their banking experience is safe, this is NOT what happens here. Being the only location in the area you would think to keep your customers instead of forcing them to bank elsewhere.
