Came on Saturday 2/24/24 with my partner and our pup. This tasting room is located on Cannery Row near the Bubba Gumps. Originally we were trying to go to the other tasting room, 'Taste of Monterey' but unfortunately it was service dogs only. Luckily we came across Bargetto, which was a nice cozy spot with a bar and a few tables inside. Our pup was welcomed in to sit with us, so there's a star for that. Upon entering there were 2 gentlemen working the bar one with a flannel and the other with a SF hat and yellow sunglasses. We were impressed with how price friendly the wine flights were so I opted for the Bargetto Flight ($20) - perfect if you wanted to try a little bit of everything from Rosé, to Chardonnay and to Merlot. And my partner got the Chaucer Flight ($20) - he wanted to something new and these Meads did not disappoint. Nothing about these wines feel short in taste but what did was the SERVICE. I don't even remember what our server or 'Sommelier's name was but he was the guy in the Camo SF hat with yellow sunglasses. May be it was an off day because our experience really felt short of hospitality and wine knowledge. After the 3rd glass of wine he didn't even bother to tell me what he was pouring I had to look on the menu. I couldn't help but to look at the other party next to us with the other server and feel jealous of how he was catering to them and just genuinely enjoying his job. A star for the price point and a star for the wine it self. Not sure if I would go back to this tasting room but may be try visiting the actual winery in Soquel.

More casual than romantic, but we came in to wine down & rest. Don't worry on having to come in dressy, the tastings were delicious & bottles are affordable, we bought one that was a Chaucer's mead. Great spot to kick back & relax if you've been walking a while. Better to visit with your spouse or a friend, the spot is small & cozy!

They are OG'S of mead. They carry meads, white and red wine. I tasted their red wine flight, and my husband did the mead. Everything we had was beautiful and tasty. Must visit after visit to the aquarium.

This wine is very very good. The price point on it is also very reasonable and I believe the Vineyard is in Santa Cruz. The tasting experience was great and the server was very knowledgeable and friendly.

We came for a wine tasting and stayed for the trivia. We didn't win the trivia, but we enjoyed the company and fun vibe. Service was friendly. Trivia host was knowledgeable and funny. I walked away with a bottle of port. Enjoyable place right on cannery row.

We have been members of Bargetto Winery for many years now, and we always have a wonderful experience there anytime we're in Monterey. The attentive service is top-notch, as is the friendly company. I can very highly recommend this winery.

My Yelp profile motto/summary says it all: "I like to wine when I am down!" As I was on my spiritual journey to Monterey/Carmel to celebrate my life with my beloved daughter for several days last week, I was determined to visit at least a few wineries/wine bars in the area. Contrary to said motto/summary however, I wasn't down at all; I was elated with an uncontrollable excitement as I was being surrounded by beautiful, yummy looking eatery after eatery! After visiting an almost 5-star review winery in Carmel just a day or two prior, we stumbled upon Bargetto Winery in the busy Cannery Row in Monterey. Although the setting of it isn't as adorable/cute as the one in Carmel, I enjoyed the easy accessibility from the many other stores on the same street. It looked unassuming in size; once you are inside, the store looked quite spacious. Once inside, I took the time to take some photos of the place. Then, Joe, our beloved host greeted us and welcomed us to sit right in front of him at the bar. His father immigrated to the U.S. from Italy years ago. Joe's working at this Winery (for the last 30 years is what he said as far as I recollect correctly) as a Wine Counselor is simply a perfect thing for him to do. It was sad to hear however, that he is/was contemplating on retiring next year. We went with the Gold Medal Flight ($25) but when I mentioned about my likes/dislikes, he switched off some of the varietals to suit my likings. Not only that, he gave us at least a few extra pours of what may not have been on the menu. The way he entertained us through the 30-45 minutes of tasting experience was top notch. If I can go ahead and mention about the downside of it was the construction noise that came in from the door to access other stores in the same building. That door was wide open the whole time. I highly recommend this place especially after a long day of walking/shopping/sightseeing on Cannery Row and/or in the whole Monterey. It's a great place to "wine" down for the day no matter the activity. And for as long as Joe works there, you should ask him to host you; this tasting room's popularity is attributed to Joe's impeccable hospitality.

Great little tasting room located in Cannery Row. Staff were very pleasant and knowledgeable about the wines and meads being served. We did a mead tasting, which were all really good. Favorites were the mulled mead and the raspberry. Definitely worth checking out if your sightseeing or passing through.

My boyfriend and I popped in here while waiting for our table at Bubba Gump's. Ethan was awesome! He gave us a flight of just whites and everything was great, also recommended us a different restaurant that was able to seat us right away. All the wines were great. :)
