Never ever rent from this Budget. Their car malfunctioned, locking my luggage in the trunk. I have been trying for days to get them to respond in a meaningful way to ship it to me, and have gotten the runaround from literally a dozen different agents, been verbally abused, been told by the manager that they have shipped my luggage, but they refuse to tell me with what company and what tracking number. The agents have been hostile, unhelpful, and have often flat out refused to help and refused to transfer me to supervisors. No one at this location ever answers their phone. I will be filing a claim against this company if they don’t produce my property pretty damn soon.

Warning: Do not use this office (or Avis ran by the same folks) if you have an early flight out. We booked a car and since our flight out was at 5AM, before the office opens, were told to just park the car outside and put the keys and slip into the drop box. Next thing I know I've been charged for an entire extra day because the desk didn't actually mark the car returned until after 9AM when we dropped it off at 3:34AM. Had to call Budget and spend 45 minutes on the phone, sharing photos with them, to get our money back. This is borderline scamming people because this airport often has early flights out. CHECK YOUR BILL! Luckily we had photos showing it was returned in pristine shape with a full tank of gas.

I rented from the Monterey Airport location and had a great experience. Check in was quick and the car location is a very small walk.

Wish I could give less than one star. Should have heeded the other reviews and avoided this scam place. Only paid $144 total for my trip but they are charging me $80 dollars as an extra fee for returning the car at a later time but it was the same time as my itinerary and what I filled out and no one told me about this. Not helpful at all. Avoid

Quoted at 465 for the week. Charged 800 dollars. After an hour on the phone and several transfers they told me they erroneously charged me for a one way fee. Waiting to get the refund now but I can’t help but think they do this to lots of people who just don’t notice or don’t have the patience to call and insist there is something wrong. Definitely watch your bank account when renting from these people.

I was quoted 465 for the week. Charged 800. After an hour on the phone and several transfers they told me I'd been erroneously charged a one way fee. Waiting on the refund now but can't help but think they do this to lot of people and many never fight it or notice. Watch your bank account when renting from these guys!

Reservation was easy. We had to go to the Avis desk instead of the Budget desk for pickup but that was easy enough. The car was a little hard to find because the parking spots were not easily identifiable. The car was clean and fully fueled up. All of the car's accessories were operational. The brakes needed to be worked on. They worked well but would "grind" when applied. The rental rates were reasonable and turn in was fast as well as efficient. All in all it was a pleasant experience.

Zero services or consideration here - we reserved a car which turned out to have a broken Bluetooth so we could not enable route navigation. They did not provide a new car and did not help anyhow even though it was their fault.

Parking for returns is horrible. Had to go around and around and around looking for Budget parking. No sign to mark individual Budget parking spots. There is no one from Budget to guide you. Had to go park in front of airport in drop off zone and rush to Budget counter to ask where to park. No one at the counter. Just sign to drop off key and contract in box. Had to rush back out and look for parking again. Still no availableparking. Drove arround again for at least 15 minutes. Finally just parked at available spot. Kicked out by Hertz as was told it was Hertz parking. Told to just go park "over there." Had to insist that there was no parking. Told to park behind another vehicle. Finally just left car behind another vehicle. Asked another rental counter and was told to go to Avis counter. There is no sign saying to do this at the Budget counter and no sign at Avis saying that they process Budget. At counter saw another customer charged almost $100 for not filling tank. Why not just tell the person to go fill tank so wouldn't be charged? Horrible experience.

Waited 10 minutes in line to return the car, was serviced by friendly staff. Later I saw that $21 extra were charged from my card. After some investigation I was told it was a "late return fee". I checked my receipt, and they clocked the return exactly 1(!) minute late. I mean, come on... Complained and was told I'd get a refund.

It's kind of messed up you have to have a good credit score to rent a car using your debit card so mind you if you get it through price line then when you get there to budget and your credit card is not working and you have a better credit score and you try to use your debit card forget it but yeah otherwise than that car is fine

I had a very nice experience with rentt a car at Budget. I got a newest model of Cadillac for my reservation for a compact car. A staff at the counter, Travis was very kind to try to help me to find my missing paper bag with memorable souvenir in it although we could not find it.

The best customer service at a busy time! Had a quick turn around-trip from Monterey (Marina) to LA and back. I've never rented a car. Nathan handled everything expertly, and with extreme concern for customer service as I was a nervous newbie. Even with a few people behind me, and we all started talking and having a nice conversation, he was swift efficient and covered all the bases with patience. Just for the customer service alone, I would definitely be back. In fact, I might be renting more cars since it was so easy for my trips out of town. He put me in a Ford Explorer which was perfect for me and three cranky 14 year olds, who did not want to come on this quick trip. Everyone had plenty of space and comfort so thank you Nathan for making that really stressful situation the least of my worries.
