Stale caramel popcorn ?

January 2024 by Marcy Castro
Over priced, inedible candy and stale popcorn. This has got to be a tourist trap for sure. Went in on my birthday and there are no prices posted. Asked 1/2 lb of one and 1/2 lb of another. Got a medium popcorn and ONE piece of almond bark and it cost me $62! OMG.. crazy. I would have been ok with that if the candy wasn’t totally dry and disgusting.. Here it sits, only 2 pieces eaten, 2 days later. Even our 8 year old refuses to eat it so it’s going to be $62 in the garbage. Never again.. 0/10 recommend. I wish I had my money back cuz I could have gotten TWO LBS of delicious See’s candy for that price.

The old candy machine with the aroma of caramel brings me happiness and joy in Christmas times.

Jason (young man with braces) Think I remember his name right, helped me today. Very professional and helpful. Great employee. Been coming here for years. Probably three times if not four times a year. Cotton candy. Milk chocolate turtles. Fudge with walnuts. Milk chocolate rocky road. Rocky road candy apple. All packaged in cute gold boxes. Spend over $50 and receive a free small caramel corn. Prices are fair. Quality is fresh. Service is kind. Place can get busy but well worth the wait. Most times when I visit the wharf is to pick up my sugar fix. I don't park in the parking lot. I park by Benihana's or in the loading zone parking circle. Park. Go into store. Leave. Free parking for in and out shopping.

This place has the best salt water taffy selection. And their staff are very friendly and helpful. a must see if you are in the area.

Having grown up in the MB Area, it was nice to be able to bring my son here to see what fisherman’s wharf was like, and this place hasn’t changed a bit. The classic machines and the smells take me back and are wonderful watch.Kid-friendliness: This place is made for kids and the young at heart.

It's been more than 20 years since I was last here. Of course I didn't expect the place to look the same as it did two decades ago. However, I was disappointed at how run down, dirty, stuffy (hot), and how horrible the customer service was. The aroma of something burning took over all my senses. The lady that was helping us never smiled once and seemed annoyed as soon as we asked to buy some chocolates. The chocolate milkshake tasted of cheap and generic ice cream. I'm so bummed because I used to visit this place on a regular basis in my teenage years and I was excited to take my son and husband there. They used to have great customer service, the place was spotless, and they had a variety of candy apples, chocolate strawberries, and every other chocolate you can imagine. Unfortunately, that's none of that is no longer offered. Sad to say, I won't be coming back here again.

It smelled sweet inside but not overpowering. The woman behind the counter offered help and had no problem or qualms about answering questions on the candies or prices. They offered not only dark chocolate almond clusters, but also dark chocolate almond bark which were maybe 4"x5" in size and I absolutely loved it. I got 2 pieces/sheets(?). The cost was a bit high, but honestly when you think about it, dark chocolate and nuts can be quite pricey to begin with. My husband had dark chocolate toffee but the toffee part lacked in texture.

I cannot get someone to answer the phone. I'm checking on the ordered I placed last Saturday. It was shipped the same day, so probably was picked up on Monday. I live in Southern California so I should've received it by now.

Decent place to get candy on the wharf. They have chocolate, peanut brittle taffy and more. It's very busy and touristy. I've gotten things here over the years it's conveniently located.

Bought taffy, fudge and caramel corn. The taffy is just not that good. And the fudge is more like a brownie than actual fudge. The caramel popcorn, on the other hand, is the best. THIS is the reason to come to Carousel Candies.

Food: Forgot to take the sticker off of our candy apple and add paper wraps on the bottom of some of our candy apples so they arrived home soggy. Some apples weren't even completely cut after we asked them to be. Service: Horrible customer service and although signs displayed the deals they have on candy apples and fudge there was no sign that reminded me if I spent more than $50 I could get free caramel popcorn or taffy. After coming here for years I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

Oh no you di'nt! We're gonna know! We know! No more butter in that caramel for the caramel popcorn! Ridiculous! I'm a local and I'd rather pay more than have you change the recipe so obviously and drastically! God knows the tourist don't care how much you charge, so go back to the original recipe and just charge more! Don't go cheap and use what I assume is some sort of crisco type of crap. So disappointed in your lack of quality! Just tasted the caramel apple we got too! F@&=ed that up too! Did this place recently change ownership?
