I just went to try on a pair of shoes. I waited around the register/doorway they get the shoes from for a while. Then I saw an employee at a different register (still in the shoe department ) chatting with a non-employee (maybe her bf, maybe just a friend). I asked the young lady if I could try on my size and she said no, she’s in a different department and turned her back to chat with her friend. I said, “Excuse me, there’s no one here. Can you ask someone to come over?” She pointed to the handbag department and said “She’s with someone right now, but she’ll be back.” So I said, “So she’s in the handbag department and there’s no one in the shoe department, but you.” I was confused. Then 2 other customers came and asked me if there was anyone in the shoe department. I said, “Just her, but apparently she can’t help because she’s in a different department.” They said, “We don’t have time for this.” I agreed and we all left. I still don’t understand how an employee in the shoe department can’t help with shoes, but I’m supposed to wait for the employee in the handbag department to help with shoes. Too bad this employee is wasting time and Macy’s money chatting away so Macys is losing business. I recommend hiring people who try to be helpful and provide better training.

It was very bad experience today at Mac's cosmetics at del monte shopping center in Monterey! The lady at the customer service pretended that she did not hear me when I wanted to check an eyeliner I wanted to buy as I was not sure if that's the one I usually buy. I asked her 3 times and she did not let me see it... she was looking down at me as if I am a begger just because I was not feeling good and wearing sweatpants and t shirt ? sadly those who always claim they are discriminated against are the ones who practice discrimination based on appearance!! She needs to learn what customers service means! I ended up leaving and will buy it online!

My experience with Danielle Rose Cavallaro was terrible, she is rude and a bully and a scammer. I do not recommend her at all as she will judge you horribly. I don't know why Macy's hired this woman.

Never disappointed with the customer service at Macy's!!On my recent trip I had a lot of items to return, with COVID epidemic I shop a lot online but haven't had a chance to return. One very expensive item was pass the 30 day policy of returning and Carlos (a manager) and his associate Latania made an exception and returned all my items quickly and with a smile... thank you for always making things easy in a difficult time!!!

I'm a customer for over 30 yrs here in monterey and other Macy's store in other states like Hawaii , New York and Texas . I usually go to this stores when traveling for vacation . I spend thousands of dollars on furniture, rugs fine jewelries , and designer bags here in monterey store It used to be fun to shop here but recently Customer service is so bad . Sales ladies has no customer service skills . Very poor service . Seems like some of them are not in the mood serving customers which shows in their faces . No wonder a lot of Macy's stores in the country are closing or already closed This store just lost a very good customer. I'll do my business in some other stores away from monterey like Nordstrom and Ann Taylor . I will not be surprise if Monterey store close too

I was returning items post stay-at-home and had a really poor customer relations experience. The job was done efficiently enough but a lady with short black hair was wiping her face and moving her mask around her nose. When it was brought to her attention she was adamant she would do these things again, no apologies no remediation of behaviors. I would avoid her line at the customer service area.

Caveat emptor! Yes; the buyer alone is responsible for the quality and suitability of goods before making a purchase, right? This is particularly true at Macy's Jewelry department in Monterey, CA. My wife normally wears a size 7 ring. She saw a beautiful ring at Macy's in Monterey that caught her eye. It was a size 7 but had a very wide band on it. The ring slipped onto my wife's finger with some difficulty but would not come off. We tried all the Google options for removing a tight ring, but nothing worked. After about 24 hours, we went to a jeweler and had the ring cut from her finger. The jeweler confirmed that the ring was size 7 but commented that based on the width of the band, was equivalent to a size 5 ring. Either Macy's hires incompetent people who do not know their job, or they have hired people who know exactly what they are doing. In either case, they put my wife's well being at risk. I'm sharing this event with you so you can be forewarned if you dare to shop at Macy's in Monterey. Yes, my wife should have known that a ring with a wide band should be much larger than what is normally worn (right)? No way! The salesperson at Macy's knew exactly what they were doing when they sold this ring to my wife based on their comment that they could not resize it, the sale was final, but she could take it to a jeweler to have it resized. You've been warned; shop at Macy's in Monterey at your own risk! Caveat emptor! I know what you are thinking ... QUESTION: Did I give Macy's a chance to fix this problem? ANSWER: I gave Macy's the same chance that the salesperson in the Jewelry Department in their Monterey Store gave my wife.

My daughter and I went looking for the juniors section when we first walked in. All the sales people I could find were busy so we looked at a directory that showed which floor each department is on. I may have been wrong but there was ONE sign (the rest didn't have it) that indicated juniors was on floor "L" which is the lower level. We headed down to the lower level, walked around, found the discount area (forget what that is called) which had junior clothes in it but not much of a selection so we kept looking for the "regular" juniors section. Both of us had to use the restroom so we saw a sign and headed that direction. We found the bathroom (one person bathroom) and waited with one person ahead of us. While waiting I asked a salesman where the juniors section was and he said it was on the other side of the escalator. I looked at him funny and clarified- not the discount junior section, the regular juniors section. He said, yes, that's where it is. I said "ok, I'm pretty sure that's where we just came from but we will look again". By the time it was our turn the bathroom had ZERO paper products. We had to move on. I mentioned to a saleswoman there that the bathroom didn't have paper products, she said she would call someone... We ended up holding it for quite a while. Off we went back to the other side of the escalator. I should mention I am walking with a cane this entire time, getting pretty weary with the back and forth and misdirection. We asked another saleswoman (on "the other side of the escalator") about the junior section and she told us it was on level two. Good grief! Up two floors we went. It took quite some time for us to find something for her but we were relieved to have at least found the right section. Then it was time for check-out. We looked all over the place for a register that was open and finally found one with one cashier and a long line; I was pretty tired and in pain by this point so opted to find a cashier on another floor on our way out. (Where did everyone go?) We finally found someone in the jewelry section but as he agreed to ring us up he realized we had clothing and that he didn't have the ability to take the security tags off clothing. My heart dropped for a second as I dreaded walking back to another clothing section and waiting in a line again but he seemed to hear the desperation in my voice so he took care of us, walked across the way to take the security tags off (thanks so much) and we finally left still needing to use the restroom.

I went to Mac yesterday to get my makeup done for a holiday Christmas party. I called last minute and they were able to fit me in. Unfortunately my makeup came out horrible. I told the makeup artist I don't normally wear makeup, I was looking for a not-so-heavy look, just light and skin tones. When she was done I looked like a raccoon and my face makeup was the completely wrong color. After paying $60 I ran out of the mall with my head down in embarrassment. I DO NOT recommend getting your makeup done here.
