Requested a quote for a move. They asked for a list of items to move which we provided. They gave us a lower quote than others we received, without coming by in person. Their quote also indicated a bunch of different add-ons like fuel and a fee for a second stop. I might have entertained their quote, but I was barraged by calls, emails, and texts shortly after I received the quote, and then for a week while I was getting the other quotes. It was way too much. And then after I contacted them to let them know I had chosen another mover, they indicated they could lower the price, which rubbed me the wrong way.

I hired this company recently to move two large pieces of furniture upstairs. Before I say anything about their pricing I will first give them credit that the movers showed up on time and did a good job. I picked Mod Movers in part based on their lower advertised hourly rates. I was quoted $120/hr for a minimum of two hours. I knew my move would take a lot less than two hours but I understand that companies have to have minimums to justify coming to your house. $240 seemed like a reasonable price for what I needed done so I booked them. My first concern was when they tacked on a $40 fuel surcharge to the quote even though the move was completely inside my house. Even with that charge $280 still seemed reasonable so I agreed. After the move (which took 30 minutes) I got another surprise. I was charged and additional half our at $120/hr for the movers driving time. So even though the move was completed using only 30 minutes of the two hours I paid for, I was charged for an additional half hour. Meaning this company actually has a 2.5 hour minimum. And to top it off they charge a 5% fee to pay with credit card. The final tally was $340 for 30 minutes of moving furniture. As I said before they showed up on time and did a good job, and these extra fees probably wouldn't make much of a difference in a larger move. They just came as a surprise to me and soured what would have been a five star experience.

It's the second time we've used Mod Movers. This one was a big one...430 miles in California. Manuel and Javier arrived exactly on time and loaded our entire house in just about 2 hours. (We "packed" ourselves.) Absolutely professional , courteous, and careful with our belongings. They unloaded everything the next morning at 7:15 am, finishing by about 9am. I highly recommend Mod Movers whether in town, close by, or long distance.

We found out we were moving last minute and MOD Movers was available and we were so thankful for that!We were moving from one two-story to another two-story unit and knew movers would save the day.Juan and Carlos handled our move like pros. Our second staircase is no joke and they both worked so hard, professionally, and quickly given all the items we were moving.They were both very kind and I am so appreciative! We don’t plan on moving any time soon, but if we do, I know who to call.
