The Monterey History and Art Museum offers a vibrant display of local art, featuring historical Monterey-based artists and rotating contemporary exhibits. The Stanton Center includes an intimate 100-seat theatre that hosts various community events. Visitors can enjoy a fabulous Randal Chavez Art Exhibit and appreciate the works of significant local artists, such as Jo Mora's Animaldom cartoons and Zella Conan's watercolors of historical Monterey sites. While the facility may lack charm, the beautiful art and engaging exhibits make it a worthwhile destination. The museum has a lovely staff dedicated to promoting local artists, both past and present. Additionally, the back patio features the nostalgic Dream Theater sign, adding to the museum's unique character. Overall, the Monterey History and Art Museum is highly recommended for art lovers and those looking for community events.

Wonderful Jo Mora display. Discovered a St. Louis connection with one of the artists. Lovely building.
