Paid 1 grand for my hair to get wrecked. The owner doesn't listen or hear what is being asked by customer. Assistant does most of the work as he directs her. The price disclosed is not the price I agreed to pay. One feels they have no choice but to pay for services rendered. What to do? Argue with the owner? I want at least 1/2 my money returned. Definitely not recommended.

This is my second time getting my hair cut ,blowout, and all over color with Susan, all I can say that Susan as usual exceeds my expectations. Susan is very polite with a very nice professional clients hair service.I am excited to continue coming back to her in the future🌹

Oya is hands down the best haircut place in town! From the moment I walked in, Brian, the owner, made me feel so welcome and comfortable. His kindness and attention to detail really set the tone for a great experience. Anna, who cut my hair, did an incredible job. She made sure to check in with me throughout the cut, especially when it came to how much length to take off, which I really appreciated.
Brian came back at the end to make the final touches, ensuring everything was perfect and that I was completely happy. Overall, just an amazing experience every time I come in. As a local who has been coming here for years, I highly recommend Oya to anyone looking for great service and a great haircut!

My appointment with Char was nothing short of fantastic. With having curly hair, I told her I've never had a cut or color I've ever been happy with, but she took that as a challenge and exceeded expectations! Char knew exactly what I needed, and on top of that, coupled my appointment with great conversation and tips and tricks. She even took the time to send me products and follow up after my appointment. I highly recommend visiting Char, you will not be disappointed!

I had been searching for a haircut that would flatter my thick, curly hair for the last two years since moving to Monterey. That search recently ended when Brian at Oya Salon cut my hair with such precision and efficiency. He took a quick look and feel of my hair, and knew exactly what to do. I’m in love with my hair cut for the first time in years!

Plus: Convenient parking located at City lot block away; greeted upon entering.Needs Improvement: Stylist stations have no room for client personal items; not offered smock prior to color service; stylist made little effort to engage in conversation - at wash station stylists talked with each other; checkout tip suggestions outrageous - 55% tip; owner interrupted my consultation to tell him about new stylist and interrupted again to introduce the new stylist; color job left my hair with two color tones - brown three inches down and blond the rest of the length.Services: Hair coloring

My long hair got butchered! I had waist long hair and the assistant to the owner Bode, Dallie, she cut my hair practically shoulder length!!! It was completely uneven, and she even blow dry my hair and decided to cut it again because she couldn't get it even. She didn't cut straight to began with!!! She fumbled endless trying to section my hair, got her comb stuck and wrapped with my hair. There is no way she could have passed her beauty school!!! I paid the $83 and cried in my car! This salon used to be great! I can't believe they hired someone who should not be cutting hair! She didn't measure properly and didn't use a clean comb when she drop her comb on the floor. I know I should have said something, but I wanted to be polite and give her a chance. (She literally picked the comb, put it in her drawer under her wallet, than push the comb under her wallet to appear like she was getting a clean comb. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to embarrass her.) I have straight, waist long hair, no hairstylist ever had a hard time cutting my hair. I wish Johnny was still there, or even the the really young girl. But I guess the good ones left. I ended going to Great Clips to get my hair fixed! All the hairstylist there saw all the mess-ups and unevenness she made on my straight hair!!! To Bode I never experienced a bad hair cut with you, but your assistant, Dallie, should not be cutting hair at all!

As an old employee I can say Brian bodie is a fraud. He over processes hair. All of his foils bleed and clients will have hot roots. Don’t get me started on his cutting techniques. Real stylist in this industry know about him. Stay away and go to a real salon with people with passion and not about money. I’m sure this will be deleted. They do such a fantastic job here, when I make my appointment; I never have to wait. I cannot remember her name ; but the trim and touch up for my shade of blonde is spot on. I have switched my hairstylist to this salon since they do such a consistent great job!

I made an appointment and arrived just on time, the guy who was supposed to do my hair just looked at me with no reaction when I said I had an appointment with him, and asked me to have a seat while he continued his, very casual, conversation with a client who's hair he wasn't even doing( she was having her hair done by another hair dresser). He made me wait almost 10 minutes for no reason so I left.
