Wonderful and Inspiring Collection, I walked in and was greeted by Artist Nancy Olaeta who Has her Works and Creations on display, Oil paintings of the Local Monterey Peninsula and Big Sur California Coastline, along with her gorgeous and colorful Glass work. As I walked around the Gallery, Nancy Introduced me to the Venture Gallery Collection, sharing a little peek into the different Artists. Venture Gallery is Tucked away in such a quiet corner of the Plaza, a treasure box of Local Creativity. I encourage you to pop in and see the forever-changing Display of such a Talented Monterey Peninsula Artist.

Happened into this gallery and was so impressed. It's a co-op of artists from within a 35-mile radius. If this gallery is any indication, this area is filled with talent! There are paintings, gorgeous woodworking pieces, jewelry and glass. The paintings are very reasonably priced and there are even unframed pieces, prints and cards for sale. I was mesmerized by Tamara Selyangina's watercolors. I may have to return to buy one!

Unwelcoming experienceReply : I was visiting the gallery and was very amazed by all the art work. After looking around for any 'no photo' signs I snapped a few pics as I have done in many galleries before. Thats when the receptionist (senior man), approached me to tell me "youre taking too many pictures" in the most accusing tone ever. No "hello" first, no "excuse me". I was honestly so confused, i apologized and said it was just all such good work. The reply? "everythings heres copyrighted, and your'e taking too many pictures" and walked away. It was very condescending. Im not sure if it was my age or something that made him think its okay to be condescending like that. I would very much suggest how you approach your patrons about this. A simple "excuse me ma'am, there are no fotos allowed" and i would have understood and left 5 stars.

Galleries like this show that the Monterey area is home to many outstanding artist. From ceramics to woodworking to painting to jewellery, it’s all carefully selected and presented. And yet, it’s relatively affordable. Every time I’ve been here, the service has been welcoming and approachable, and truly cares about the pieces of art for sale, and their artists.
