Matilija Nursery is a favorite native plant nursery with an enormous and amazing selection of California native plants, including species that can be hard to find and multiple sizes of the same species. The plants are well taken care of. The owner is super nice, very knowledgeable, helpful, patient, and kind, offering the right amount of attention and always eager to chat. The property is described as a sanctuary. Prices are noted as great and below average. The nursery is reliable for both personal and professional habitat restoration projects, capable of sourcing large quantities of specific species. A note for visitors is that access is not complicated and service is very fast, but to not enter via the main Google Maps entrance and instead use a field slightly ahead to turn around. The location is considered a little out of the way.
