Beware of DATA BREACH and lack of protection for your accounts, especially minor person information. don't trust your kid's account to them as they do not have protocols in place to rectify a situation regarding a minor's information being leaked from them.Take some time to look at banks and go somewhere else to protect yourself and your children if they are minors and thinking of having an account with VCCU.VCCU still has not delivered on having a code for identity protection for a minor. They knew the accounts that were impacted from the Data Breach in Dec 2022 and failed to have proper remedial action in place. They knew the account and the information for a minor was leaked. Yet, they failed to obtain codes for a minor. They also failed to notify members that their identities had been leaked until starting in July 2023. 6 months later?!?In Sept 2023, I brought to their attention that Experian, they contracted to monitor their members identity due to their leak, stated VCCU only contracted for adults not minors and Experian said to go to the bank for a code for a minor code. I have been trying to resolve this with VCCU since only to receive the run around. First they were supposed to call back, then didn't. Then I finally got someone higher up. Then they said Experian is giving out the incorrect information. The. They said they were getting additional services with Experian to resolve this for minors. (Do not be fooled by the word smithing of their marketer on Yelp. their marketer is paid to make them sound better- VCCU did not have services set up for identity monitoring for minors. It is not as simple as a code is on its way. They should have had codes established since the start of the data breach as they knew which accounts and information was leaked.)I assume they still do not have codes for minors as I have yet to receive a code to resolve this situation. Then they said Experian was closed til the new year and couldn't resolve it saying I'm on a list to receive a code. Which again, shouldn't that code already been in place at the start of the data breach that occurred Dec 2022? that's over a year ago.As of 1/4/2024, they still have not sent me a code and I sent an email (again.) So from sept 2023 to Jan 2024, we are going on 4 months of trying to resolve with VCCU.There is already a class action in progress about the data breach situation. On a separate note, I left VCCU and went to another bank with much higher interest on accounts. In a couple of months, I have already made more on my accounts through that bank than in a year or two of dividends with VCCU. So I endured and still am enduring terrible customer service, problem resolution, and blatant lack of accountability without any great benefits like earning more money on my accounts.Learn from my mistake in trusting VCCU. Research banks, look up reviews, be informed, and go somewhere else.

Beware of IDENTITY DATA Breach and lack of them fixing the issue. Ventura county credit union had a data breach due to an employee's email and my son's information was part of it. I have been trying to resolve the situation since September 2023 to only get the run around. They sent me an identity monitoring for experian code that would only work for an adult but my son is a minor. Experian told me I needed a code for a minor and go back to the bank. I went back to the bank, they said someone named Lana would call me. I verified my information in person with the branch and never received a call or email back from Lana. They said she called but I have not seen anything in my phone. They got me in touch with someone named Sean higher up, who also does not resolve the situation. It has been months of trying to resolve. Save the headache and your security, and go somewhere else. Updating this review 12/26 due to the response from VCCU: The data breach in the letter referenced by VCCU was from Dec 2022. It has been a year that incident. In knowing which accounts had Personal Identifiable information leaked, VCCU knew a minor's information was leaked and failed to establish having minors codes. I have recently been told that VCCU will be expanding services with Experian to obtain minor codes, not get more minor codes.

I left my few banks over a decade and will never go back as credit unions are more personable, don't tend to over charge or charge recklessly. They offer guidance when u ask and i just really love the atmosphere of family. Most corporate banks cause I've had business with 6 of them are profiteers that manipulate how to use your money for themselves so choose wisely my friends

THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!! I opened an account on Jan 11th writing a check to fund the account from another local credit union. After setting up my account online I noticed that the money was deposited into the account BUT it had a "hold" on the funds until January 25! WTF I never in my life had funds held this long and at no time did anyone mention this to me while opening my account. I spoke with the guy who opened my account and got nowhere so I wrote online to this "wannabe" financial institution. Silly me I expected to be able to speak with a manager as to why this was happening and how it could be fixed. I received a response from someone with the title of Senior Member Service Officer who apologized and said she would forward my email to the "appropriate team" to ensure this matter is addressed. To me that means SOMEONE would contact me to discuss but this is not what happened. I got nada, zip, zero, zilch, just crickets from this place and so while my funds are still on hold for another 2 days I will be closing my newly opened account and going where my money and patronage are appreciated!! I originally went here because they are 5 minutes from my home, but obviously there are more important things than convenience!!! Save yourself the aggravation and find another credit union who does business in the 21st Century not the 19th!

Please take the 1 star with consideration of the branch vs loan department. The branch is amazing, Kelly and her staff have always been helpful and friendly. However, the loan department is a mess. I do not recommend ever doing a loan with them. Payments don't get applied properly or on the day you pay them online then they charge you a late fee because they didn't apply it. I paid my loan off in full 3 weeks ago and the loan department acknowledged they had the money but they haven't applied it or closed the loan yet and keep charging me interest. The loan department I've learned is an outside servicing company, not bank staff so there doesn't seem to be much control over it and very little to no communication back to me. I will never do a loan with them again.

I was having an issue with my account & had some difficulty getting through to the call center. I reached out to Kelly F, the Branch Manger & she was absolutely fantastic! She was able to resolve my issue within minutes. Thank you so much Kelly & VCCU! Highly recommend 10/10.

Really impressed with the skills and efficiency of Terrance, the front teller who assisted me today. His polite and courteous manner was evident from the start of our business. Terrance knew how to rectify an ATM issue along with making a complicated transaction. From there I met Dillen who was also a great help with my account. He provided me with the best way to park some assets and gain the best interest available. Both are great employees and I wish them well for their futures.

This credit union is amazing. The staff has been nothing but great. Kelly and Juan have been amazing and so helpful. They are honestly the only reason why I moved my kids accounts here too. Juan was so amazing when he was doing a car loan for us a while back that as of now he is the only reason we have done 2 more car loans since.I had a question this week and Kelly was so prompt with getting back to me. Not sure i would continue my accounts long term without them. I have an account at a non credit union in town and you go in circles for stuff.I had suggested to the business that I run to try our account at the MP office due to how attentive Kelly was. Now years later she is still as amazing.I started coming here a little after the Moorpark office opened because Juan had helped my Mom with her stuff and she was impressed.

The bad - - remote deposit hasn't worked for three weeks and the few times it has the check took way to long to clear - check deposits take longer to clear than other banks. I am working out of town and use the co-op banking, and another credit union has made comments that it was abnormal. Last week had to go in and deposit my check that failed remote deposit, check was written all over for direct deposit, the co-op bank took care of it and the teller whose helped me every week I have a problem with VCCU remarked, "even if your bank isn't taking care of you we will". - called three weeks in a row concerning delayed check deposit, three times was told I would receive a return phone call, never received a return phone call. Finally sent a email venting frustration and received a phone call back but didn't answer and wasn't pleased with the lack of apology or explanation. - had been approved for a credit card and it never arrived. Still shows an open credit card in my online account but every time I inquire about it they seem thoroughly confused and don't know why it shows in my account but not on there end. - it took a really long time to get used to the fact that the amount they show as your balance actually is not your balance, there is a fine print amount that is the "actual amount", this mistake has cost me a couple hundred dollars in fees. The Good - Co-op banking allows for you to travel, or relocate, and still bank with VCCU. A receptionist? Will answer the phone and has been kind and pretty helpful. Problem is they only have so much abilities and beyond that they have to refer me to a higher level, which doesn't always happen. Had a couple fees waved It might be a good place for a loan but as far as banking goes this has been nothing but trouble. If they respond to this post then I'd suggest using yelp to contact them and state you complaint openly cause over the phone and email doesn't work. I usually don't write reviews this badly but i am very frustrated. Thr
