Friendly and knowledgeable help, a nice selection at multiple price points, and good value make this a very solid neighborhood wine shop. Would be proud to have it on my street, that's for sure. On this night I was going to a freind's house for venison and he pulled out two Mourvèdre heavy wines that were both great with the dinner. Not very expensive either. I even questioned if they were going to be the best wine I could get for this dinner and they did not try to upsell me to a pricier bottle that would not have been as good with the food. Integrity like that keeps people coming back and makes better long term value for everyone. Wish I found it everywhere, but regardless, very happy to have found it here, and I will return. Best, Paul

Great selection of.. well everything. Their craft beer selection does have the latest and greatest and cannot find at a lot of places. And their mainstay beers are there for a reason. Booze and wine too, can find something you may not get elsewhere. And their prices are, well let's just say an out of town friend of mine came with me awhile ago and said, "it's like of the Sopranos robbed a liquor store their prices too low". When I'm there I generally know what I want and get in get out quickly, but a few times one if their guys lectured me on his right wing conspiracy views and kept going and going... and going on and on. I wanted to ask if he had just read the front page of Infowars but I decided to hold back for obvious reasons. In all this place is great. They have everything you want and more.

Great store being undermined by one obnoxious clerk. This guy refuses to mask up during pandemic (in violation of local laws), antagonizes customers who choose to wear a mask, and spews his right wing views non-stop. No one cares what you think about politics, buddy, stick to selling booze. Will update this review once he's gone.

Damn! Some pretty harsh reviews of this local small business. Before I went soberish, I used to drop by here often. I am not fancy but I do like a good wine. I also like nice people. I have never been disappointed on either front at Moraga Wine and Spirits. In fact I think I am due a visit!

I have a basic rule. When I go to buy beer/booze/wine, I'm honestly there to do just that. Not to listen to some Neanderthal running the cash register seek to steer literally every conversation he has with a customer towards his right wing/anti-mask/COVID is a hoax diatribe. I was there this past Sunday buying beer. In the space of around 15 minutes, I heard this douchebag 3 times do essentially the following: Store Guy: "how's it going" Customer: "Good..you?" Store Guy: "[Insert confrontational run-on sentence about masks. How he wants to punch Governor Newsom in the face, how COVID is b******** etc.] Customer: "um...okay" And BTW...literally every customer in the store while I was there was voluntarily wearing a mask. So...whoever the owner is of this place. If you're the douchebag...well...so be it. If it's one of your staff...here's the deal. It's your right to have you and/or people running your store saying whatever they want. God Bless America. And I'm absolutely no fan of cancel culture. But likewise, it's my right to buy products from whoever is selling it without listening to a bully accost customers and the air in general. Bev Mo is just down the road. 4.6 miles to Orinda. 5 miles to Lafayette. Total Wine is 10 miles away in Pleasant Hill. All of them have better and bigger selections. Just saying....

I know it's a lot of pressure building an entire store based on the concept of a single aisle in the grocery store 90 yards away, but this buffoon had to add insult to injury by lecturing me on his lack of knowledge about the delta plus variant in California, and how I didn't need a mask. Thanks, Dr Jaegermeister, but I think I'll take my direction from the head of the most knowledgeable consumer health advisory panel in the most powerful nation in the world.

I only leave reviews for shops/business that are really worth 5 stars. Moraga Wine & Spirits is the best liquor shop in the Lamorinda area. Some of the best customer service I have ever received. Every time I go, I am always greeted with friendliness and Joey is super helpful!
