About Box Springs Mountain Reserve
Box Springs Mountain Reserve offers a great outdoor experience with stunning views of Riverside, Moreno Valley, UCR, and the San Bernardino area. The park features vast meadows, rocky facades, and steep climbs, making it a fun and challenging place for hikers, families, and dogs. Trails are well-traveled and suitable for exercise or a peaceful escape to enjoy nature. Visitors can start their hike early, around 6am in summer, to avoid the heat. The hike to the communications towers and the large "M" provides excellent scenery and photo opportunities. The area is dog-friendly, with picnic tables near the parking lot and many trails to explore. Parking is available outside the gates to avoid fees, but the road leading to the trailhead has been closed recently due to erosion. Overall, the reserve offers a memorable experience with inviting atmosphere, beautiful views, and facilities that make it a worthwhile destination for outdoor lovers.
