Joyce's Tax Service helped us with our taxes for over 12 years. Our prior tax people made many errors in our previous taxes. I was referred to Joyce & Paul Hurst to help make the proper corrections in order to resubmit to IRS/State of California. They couldn't have been more helpful as well as being experts in the Tax Preparation. It went well. We will always be thankful for them expertise and kindness.

We've had our taxes done by Joyce and her family for the last decade and have always been very satisfied with the work they've done. Joyce is both professional and knowledgeable, and has quickly and easily guided us through the tax process. I highly recommend her tax company.

Joyce and her family have been doing our taxes for 10+ years and have been an absolute pleasure to work with. Any questions we've had were always answered promptly and I've always felt they were doing everything possible to make our tax experience quick and easy, even when it seemed like it would be difficult.

I have been going to Debbie at Kleitz's since I first started filing taxes as a teen about 12 years ago. My mom uses them too. For the most part, I never had an issue until the last 3 years. Debbie put the wrong address on my husband's (then boyfriend) taxes 3 years ago which held his taxes up until June after filing around Feb.Then 2 years ago against my husband's advice we went back to Debbie as I figured I'd been dealing with them for years & never had a problem. That was the first time we could file joint as we are now married. I initially asked for a comparison: joint vs separate as I was unsure of my husband's financial situation & was advised to file join. So, we did only to have the IRS try to take both of our taxes due to student loans. When I asked Debbie about it again, she said I was supposed to file an injured spouse form with my taxes. HOW WOULD I HAVE KNOWN THAT if it wasn't told to me when I initially asked. After filing the form, I didn't get my part of our taxes last year until about April/May.Finally, this year when we filed, all seemed okay. I recently needed a copy of my 2019 forms so that we could see what steps we need to take to buy a home but I couldn't get my forms online as the site wasn't working. I reached out to Debbie who then told me that I hadn't gotten paid my taxes in the last few years. I corrected her & advised I had & was just waiting for them for this year. After a few exchanges via email, she later told me that she was never paid for 2018 due to the injured spouse filing & the money being sent directly to me and asked if I wanted to pay via cc or debit. I explained that I didn't understand how she wasn't paid for 2018 when she's always gotten her cut before my money was released to me. I also didn't understand why this wasn't mentioned when I filed this year for 2019. She then explained (unbeknownst to us) that she put on our taxes to pay the fees for both years so that she would get paid once our money was released. We still have yet to get our taxes back due to everything closing for COVID and I explained that while I would be more than willing to make sure she got her money, I didn't understand why I was being asked to pay before she gave me a copy of my forms when she just said she put on our taxes to have both years fees taken out. It's like I would be paying her an extra time! She then became very rude, speaking over me & going back & forward. She asked what I needed the forms for & I told her (though I didn't have to) & she rudely stated "you're trying to buy a house but can't pay me my money!" I explained that we weren't actually purchasing a home yet, as we are just inquiring about the steps needed to get one & are also looking into a downpayment assistance program. She then kept saying "well I have bills to pay too & it's like you don't care that I haven't been paid in the last two years." I explained that I already said I would ensure she got her money but I haven't gotten my taxes back yet, had just spent almost $3K to get a few things off my credit report & that the fact that she wasn't paid for 2018 had just been brought to my attention & never once mentioned when I filed my taxes WITH HER for 2019. I've never had to pay her directly so again....HOW WOULD I HAVE KNOWN she didn't get her money!? I just didn't have the money at that moment. Tired of going back & forward, I told her that I didn't appreciate the way she was treating me, being rude, talking over me & holding my papers hostage until I paid her as if it was my fault so I wouldn't be coming back to her again. She then told me "I don't care if you never come back to me again b/c I feel like you're a stickler!" I never once called her a name or was disrespectful! She then said a few more things & hung up on me! - a loyal customer who's been coming to h

I would like to thank Joyce tax services for completing my husband and I 2019 taxes. I had some concerns after reading prior reviews. I called prior to making an appointment and spoke with Joyce and she honestly and professionally expressed my concerns in a manner that put me at ease. We were very satisfied with our tax preparation and would use and recommend her services to others. Thank you Joyce!

Well, I wasn't going to leave this review, but now I am. We have been going to Debbie since 2013. We don't know why or how, but she duplicated a number on our 2014 tax return. A HUGE number. She put that HUGE number as a deduction. She had incorrect numbers in incorrect spots and then duplicated which made our deductions so huge that our taxable income was less than half of what it should have been. So for instance, let's say we made $100,000 that year, her mistakes in deductions brought our taxable income down to like $40,000. We never noticed it until in 2017, we got a letter from the IRS. We owed $2,582. We ended up paying that back. Yesterday, I get a letter from the Franchise Tax Board of California. We owe ANOTHER $979 to the state, once again, due to her mistake. Her mistake has now caused us to pay back over $3,500. This is such a HUGE mistake it shouldn't have been missed. Sorry kids! No Christmas this year. I wonder if she will call my 2-year-old and 1-year-old and explain why they aren't getting anything for Christmas? This is so upsetting. I can't believe how astronomical this has become. Let's just button this up with this: I don't recommend this place.

My 19 year old brother went to her for his first time filing taxes he had 4 W2's...he had called prior to going and was told it would be 45 dollars for short form. He went in to the office a day later and handed Debbie his W2s. Debbie sat with him and all she asked was if he was attending school. She did his taxes and told him how much he will be getting in return. In the end she handed him only one piece of paper which explained the many ways tax returns can be received. Debbie never gave him the option of paying in person for filing. Instead she took the liberty of charging him from his return well over the 45 dollars it was supposed to be for short form. 5 minutes later I spoke to my brother and when he informed me she had not given him his w2's back nor any forms showing his taxes were filed I told him to give me her phone number. I live 30 minutes from Moreno Valley, otherwise I would have gone in person. But I called Debbie, I told her there was no reason why she would keep his original W2s and I also told her she had to ask if the client wanted to pay cash or have it taken out of their return before she decided for them. She responded with "I can't discuss a clients information with you, and I keep his forms until his return comes in" to what I answered, "I am not requesting any onformation on his case, I am questioning the shady way you run your business and your professional ethics." she ofcourse had no good response and said "you know what, just have your brother come pick up his forms and I'll cancel his filing." This whole situation was very unfortunate because she took advantage of a young client who was filing for the first time on his own and because I was the one who suggested to my brother to file with a "professional" thinking he would be less likely to make a mistake rather than using TurboTax which he was planning on doing originally. Yes, my brother should have been more aware of what should happen when filing taxes, but then again professionals are supposed to be professionals and do right by a client regardless of their knowledge on the topic. Now my brother filed his taxes elsewhere and we have to wait and see if the IRS doesn't call him out for Debbie' s initial filing, if she even filed. I don't know this lady personally but judging by this occurrence I would just avoid. I will be looking into filing a complaint through the IRS specially if my brother's return is affected by this situation.
